4 trades Chiefs should make

http://arrowheadaddict.com/2016/10/1...rade-deadline/

Trade DeAnthony Thomas to the Cardinals for a pick
Trade for Antoine Bethea from the 49ers
Trade for Brent Grimes from Tampa Bay
Trade for Vontae Davis from the Colts

The only one that I really like is Vontae Davis.
If we trade DAT who takes his place returning since we just traded Davis?

The Franchise 10-19-2016 05:24 PM

Trade DAT and **** the rest.

Jewish Rabbi 10-19-2016 05:24 PM

Trade Sorensen for Antonio Brown

RobBlake 10-19-2016 05:35 PM

peter and grimes or davis would be a great duo. grimes may be old, but he can still ball

BossChief 10-19-2016 05:42 PM

I don't want Brent Grimes girlfriend anywhere near KC.

YES!!!! I love madden threads.

Trade Charles and DAT to Cleveland for Corey Coleman.

Coleman is the future, mark it down.

Bewbies 10-19-2016 06:10 PM

Proof that sometimes the trade you don't make is the best.

Easy 6 10-19-2016 06:21 PM

I'm just not quite ready to quit on Thomas over Wilson

Wilson finally registered a wow play last week... but Thomas has the much higher ceiling and had some wow plays of his own when given repeated chances in preseason

Go with the upside IMO

Miko Grimes is instant cancer, just add husband

Truth!! Everyone can make stupid trades in FF and not suffer the consequences of getting fired in real life. Just saying.

Everyone thinks they are a GM. Everyone believes they know how a player will preform in the near future without actually being around that player on a weekly basis. There is no way you can gage a player that way based on stats alone.

Actually you can if you have the time. I listen to Jeff Mans on Sirius XM and he's pretty damn good at his job. He does fantasy for a living, so his info is pretty legit. He will be wrong here and there, but for the most part he's right.

I'm ready to quit on DAT before he inevitably quits on the Chiefs. As he has a history of doing.

He has a history of one missing season that has never been explained good or bad, and also a history of looking far more dynamic than Wilson... again, lets focus on upside

****ing stupid, as usual.

DAT is cheap AND he's Wilson's backup.

I don't see upside in a guy you don't know will be on the field in 2 weeks, let alone 1.

He doesn't want to be on the field. When Dorsey/Reid publicly express confusion about injury status, that's a problem. Mysterious concussion one year after a mysterious hamstring injury that was day-to-day for 4 weeks.

I'm not saying cut him outright unless you have alternatives. But if you can get any kind of value to a team dumb enough to propose a trade, then absolutely pull the trigger on the deal.

He quit on his team. Maybe twice in 2 years. Either way, he can't stay on the field. Dorsey/Reid basically asked in public "what the ****?"

That's not a little thing. Of course don't trade him for nothing. But trade the hell out of him if you get value for him.

JFC, shut the **** up.

If DAT didn't have any value, he'd be gone.

Shut up, moron.

Right. They kept knile because they badly wanted 4 rbs. Not so they could dangle him all year as trade bait.

They kept Knile because West was banged up and Jamaal wasn't ready. Last week you saw all three healthy so he was traded.

So that's why they were trying to trade knile in the preseason? The Chiefs have already traded cooper and knile. The Chiefs can get offers from desperate teams in the regular season they can't in the preseason. I don't think DAT being on the roster necessarily means they think he's wildly valuable. If he was, why has he been inactive most weeks?

raybec 4 10-20-2016 07:23 AM

While we're making trades lets trade Ross Travis for Richard Sherman. That's about as likely as getting Vontae Davis during the season.

IIRC west wasn't banged up til later in the preseason. So I'm sure they kept him to help if they needed another back if Ware went down since Jamaal wasn't ready. Obviously they weren't letting Knile go for free so they kept him until a team had RB injuries.

DAT is the backup to Hill. He's cheap and they have him under contract for another year.

There's absolutely no reason to trade him for a Conditional 7th round pick in 2018.

1. Trading De'Anthony Thomas makes some sense given how little he's been used to this point, but with the trade of Knile Davis it seems unlikely the Chiefs will want to part with another returner.

2. Trading for Antoine Bethea is downright stupidity. Not only are you potentially throwing away a mid-round draft choice on a guy that's hit that magic age where players start to fall off, but you're taking on a rather significant starter's salary of over 4.5 million per.

3. Trading for Brent Grimes is a worse idea than trading for Bethea. Just see #2 for reasons, tack on another year of age, and a bit of LR cancer.

4. While I like the idea of adding Vontae Davis, he'd likely be expensive (at least a 3rd round pick) and he'd have to fit into the Chiefs cap. The Chiefs would assume the remainder of his $7.125 million salary in 2016, essentially slamming them up against the cap wall, and $9 million in 2017 (signing bonuses don't transfer). Not only all of this, but the Colts would have to want to deal one of the few good players they have on defense.
