Do you Hope Foles Takes over the QB position ?
Just a question.
|
Oh FFS Hog Farmer!
|
I dont think switching horses mid-season is a very good idea
But if the regime decided to cut bait with Smith after this year, draft a QB high and use Foles as the bridge... I'd be all about it |

I've been pretty vocal about being on Alex's side so far.
But I will say this, Foles could take a big step tomorrow in swaying my opinion if he throws for 300 yards, a few TDs and no picks. Just think about this. If Andy and the coaching staff wasn't at least a little intrigued by the idea of Foles taking the job, he wouldn't be playing. If Alex doesn't have a concussion and has practiced all week, he's clearly fit to play if they needed him to. Why open up the door to a possible QB controversy by playing Foles this week if it's not something you aren't halfway open to the possibility of? I think they want a 2nd look at what they have in Foles. I'm team Alex right now, but that can change... |
Yes
|
No because even if he lights it up Alex will be back against the Panthers so we'll never really know what he could do for us on a week by week basis. If Alex was out 3-4 games and he tore up the league for all of them I'd say yes.
|
Every time I watched Foles, he was flat out ballin', of course those times were only when he was playing for Andy.
Andy wanted him here when he came but at the time the Eggies were saying Foles was their QBOTF. |
Put yourself in Andy's boots for a second.
If you knew Smith was your guy 110%, and you wanted to avoid the 'controversy' talk, is there any way you give Foles this possible chance to shine? I don't think so. |
Yes, because we are treading water with Alex, and it will be great to be done with the Alex only fans.

I just want him to play well for the Chiefs tmrw.
|
I liked Alex and defended him quite a bit last year, and he played pretty well honestly.
But this year he seems different, either he's purely playing the system or scared to take shots, or both. He is also slow as shit now it seems. Last year he could scramble effectively and pick up first downs. This year he's taking an extra second to recognize where to scramble, and he's getting stuffed. |

where would you stand then? I would be ready to jump ship. |

that was a bad choice if foles is doing good let him go |

This will be typical Andy Reid. Showcase a QB for a trade in the off season.
|
6 or 7 teams have won a Super Bowl after a in-season quarterback change.
It's certainly a doable feat and you don't need Tom Brady to make it happen. |

Who where they and under what circumstances did they become the starter and who did they replace? |
What does hope have to do with it?
I hope our lowest paid player, locked in on the longest contract, shows up tomorrow with the skills and presence to eclipse Tom Brady. |
Stupid question Alex is a good Qb. Also he don't cause mistakes. I understand wanting a first round qb but the unknown is what scares me.

15-2 in their last 17 regular season games, and last year they got their first playoff win in over 20 years. Yep, that's treading water all right. |

Smith is not at all like Bradshaw, Plunkett, Warner or Brady. |

Depends on how he plays, man.
I would imagine he feels this way too which is why I think there's going to be a shitload of hype regarding Tyreek Hill after this week... |

i just want something to 'click' with alex and his downfield passing. of course it could work to his disadvantage if he comes back pressing too hard.

Interesting fact, even tho Alex has rushed less this year his sacks are down 33% from last season.. |

I'm glad we have a very good backup, and I hope he lights it up tomorrow, but Alex Smith is our QB when he is over the concussion. That is the way it is, and the way it should be. Next year maybe Foles, but this year Alex all the way.
|
I've been a Smith backer since he's been here. I'm pretty stasified with him, but I'd be lying if I told you that Foles doesn't ingrigue me.
Here is how I see it: Smith is 32 - Foles is 27. Advantage Foles. For me, I think it all comes down to a business decision. Whomever we go with is going to be expensive. But if one could get a deal on Foles, I think I'd jump on it. |
Anyone that would rather have Smith is insane. This team has a much better chance of scoring point with Foles and it really hardly debatable.
|
I hope b00bs.
|
Since 2015... Smith has over 30 touchdowns to 1 interception inside the opponent's 20.
That's crazy. |

I voted either way we suck, but only because I don't really care who's playing qb. I want whoever gives us the best chance to win. I don't think any of the 3 on the roster are our future. I just want to win, and hopefully take a qb in the draft (face palm) and groom him as our qbotf. But holding my breath for that would likely cause asphyxiation.
|
Thank you, Sacc.
Say, every time Tigger opens his useless whore mouth, can we get some fresh b00bs as a counter-agent to his reerunery? Thanks! |
In a way I do hope he does because that would mean he's playing at a level that made it impossible for them to take him out and that's best for the team
I don't really care who it is that's playing QB I just want to win |

Do people not understand the inherent weaknesses Smith brings to the offense?
Cause' that's what I'm seeing here. |

Yep. We should want Foles to play as well as he can so it does create a qb controversy. |
Quote:
Yes we have But if Foles plays to a level where they HAVE to keep him in there we will only win more. That's all I'm saying |

Smith in the lead in this poll.
Funny thing is, if this were a poll exclusively for the Chiefs's rivals/opponents, Smith would be leading by even a larger margin... |

No I don't. Last thing this team needs is a QB controversy especially given what happened to Alex in SF. It'd be too much of a distraction.
Don't get me wrong I want Foles to play well today but I want Alex to remain the starter. I want him to play great when he comes back next week and take this team as far as it can go. I don't think Foles is that good. You get cut by the QB-starved Rams, traded by the Eagles for Bradford, you got some issues that need to be worked out. IMO Foles is a good backup and nothing more. He can come in for a couple games and play well but long term he is not the answer... |
