Week 16's Chiefs playoff scenarios.

Since everyone is in a good mood and all, let's talk playoffs! (because who doesn't want to see our pop-gun offense embarrass themselves on a national stage?) Here is what I've come up with on how the Chiefs can clinch a playoff berth in Week 16, thanks to my highly skilled team of top-notch researchers (or 10 minutes of Internet browsing):

KC win at home vs DEN

OR

PIT win at home vs BAL

There are only 2 games on Christmas Day: ours and BAL/PIT. The BAL/PIT game is right before ours, so we'll know going in if we can at least hang a "2016 AFC Playoff Participant" flag next to our Super Bowl IV victory on Sunday night. Yes, the first round bye is the ultimate goal right now, but that can't be clinched in Week 16. Best you are going to have to hope for is this:

KC win at home vs DEN

AND

IND win on the road at OAK

That will at least put the Chiefs back into the #2 seed with their playoff-bye fates back in their own hands come Week 17 at San Diego. Thanks for your time. Please feel free to insult my family and those that I love for posting this sensitive subject on a day the Chiefs left a Taco Bell-sized skidmark in their 2016 underwear.

Thanks for the summary. No family insults - yet.....

This team has one and done written all over it. Like it matters though, the Pats are representing the AFC again.

Oakland inst that much better than Indy...and Luck is a NFL A-lister in a tight South race. The rig-masters have a dilemma....but go for the free stadium money. Shit, even the Cleveland owner makes $10 million on that deal...does anyone think that Luck winning is worth $10 million to 31 other team owners?

Thumbs up or thumbs down..nets them $10 million. Can you imagine that kind of money without having to do anything?

Anyone got the Jim Mora video?

Pittsburgh is still going to beat us even if we do somehow get the bye. And that isn't even getting into the problem that is the Patriots.

So the Steelers are playing the role of Praying Mantis this week. They're gonna help us get in the playoffs, then kill us 3 weeks later. **** us, then kill us. Cold.

Yep. Really our only shot is Bell getting hurt or pick 6s and returns for touchdowns every possession. But we have to win the toss that way.

Indy only has a 3% chance of making the playoffs going into their game with Oakland.

If/when we beat Denver, we have essentially eliminated them from contention so we won't know what kind of effort the Donks will put up against the Faid in week 17.

Regardless, if we go in as a wild card and face Houston/Tennessee on the road followed by a game in Oakland...I am totally fine with that scenario considering our best games this season have been played on the road.

Honestly, they aren't as impressive as they were early in the season. Roethlisberger will put balls up for grabs. Cincinnatti pissed that game away today with their lack of discipline, continually extending Pitt drives via penalty. Dalton did not manage situations well in the second half. Behind Antonio Brown, a consistent #2 receiving threat has eluded the Steelers. Bell can be a handful, but he too can be inconsistent. If we get them at home somehow, I think we can avenge the early season loss.

dont think Indy will beat Oakland. it will be a shootout and their D is definitely worse, plus it's a long road trip for them after going to Minny

Denver maybe

This is great stuff. LMAO

I think Indy will beat Oakland. They seem to be getting it together. And frankly, Oakland was far from impressive today in what basically was a home game against San Diego.

I'm less concerned about Oakland losing a game than I am the Chiefs winning again. If they couldn't put it together on a day where everything was in front of them like today, well then they've got big problems.

If we play on the road we can run the table. We get a home game we're ****ed. I guess our fans suck.
