Is it time to replace the "Gaz Option"?
 

With the new year ahead of us, i propose it's time for a new CP lore hero.

Gaz's posting resume doesn't hold a candle to the great FAX. Fax was unmatched in terms of wit and creativity. He's far more legendary than Gaz, and posted on this forum for a longer duration.

People, it's time to move on from Gaz and honor FAX.

Gaz was a blip on the radar from a time long, long ago.

The Gaz option sometimes makes me feel like I have some sort of gaztrointestinal infection. I voted yes.

I would be willing to listen to the arguments for it. Iowanian and rain man and a coupe others are right in it for me.

Rain Man would have to disappear for a long, long time in order to qualify.

Also, since he's our resident Poll creator, wouldn't it be weird for him to list himself as an option at the end of every poll?

And Draftabulators may be the single greatest contribution in CP history, especially considering the time. FistyMcTatt is a close 2nd.

I barely remember the name Fax, but I sure remember Gaz. I doubt that Fax was all that or I would remember the poster.

FAX was our poet laureate, and an all around great wit... according to one poster in the know, he has also has a very interesting backstory that most would've never guessed

No not at all. Gaz was here when posters still had and showed respect for one another. That is one of the reasons he left this place as I recall.

Show me a Gaz thread that was as warmly recepted as this

on this we agree. Gaz was a damn good quality poster on here. Maybe only us old timers know this these days and maybe most only know from the Gaz poll option but he had and still has great football takes.

The Ring of Honor is to remember but not idolize. There are too many quality posters on now. We get grumpy with each other, but still a resilient family of sorts.

That is why the CP is so interesting. And my first source for information.

I still have four more days under plywood/salt/6 cinder blocks to see if my laminate floor is trashed. I wouldn't have had a clue what to do (example 1 of many) that CP advisors have helped me with over the years.

So who the hell's mult is Dagnabit? I miss so much.

FAX's last post. He posted many times on that day, but after this nothing. Bad feeling something horrible happened to him that day.

Freekin n00bs(?). If you actually remember the origins of the GAZ option, you would realize that changing it to FAX would make as much sense as changing "antifreeze" to "agent orange".
