An idiotic thread begun by a total idiot.

We have 3 events left: (1) beat Denver, (2) Beat SD on the road, (3) Oak loses to Den. All 3 have to occur before we gloat. Yet, IdiotBoy starts a thread.

MTG#10 12-24-2016 08:38 PM

Dumb.

Even if we win out we wont get anything more than a WC if Oakland wins out as well. McGloin behind that line, with that running game and those receivers wont be as bad as some of you believe.

TigeRRUppeRRcut 12-24-2016 08:59 PM

Went into today with a 40% chance of getting the second seed. Their win today decreases or odds to about 1 in 3, if not less

I'm looking at anything that can help us get that #2 a seed and I been looking at some McGloin highlights and he looks like Carr light. If anybody thinks they cant win in denver with him better look again. He looks pretty good to me in this vid highlight of his 2nd start in the NFL - i cant post links but you can youtube McGloin vs Titans and see for yourself

We donate the division to Oakland during prime time

milkman 12-24-2016 09:27 PM

Winning the division, and securing the second seed, because of an injury to the QB of of the division opponent who would otherwise win the division is a sorry way to win.

This team sucks, and the Raiders are the better team because of the difference between Carr and Smith.

Oakland doesn't have to score to beat Denver. Losing Carr, at least in this match up doesn't mean as much as it would if they were facing the chargers or something

Unless the offense proves otherwise these next two weeks, Carr's injury only makes a Brady vs. Roethlisberger AFCCG that much more of an inevitability.

If there is one thing kc doesn't have to do, it's apologize to Oakland for them getting an injury. We've played through a ton. We also didn't ask for carr to get hurt so why do we have to apologize for taking advantage.

It's not crazy to think Oakland would have lost in Denver. They nearly lost to sd missing Gordon. If kc gets the tiebreaker it will be because Oakland lost to Denver without carr. Sure. But it also will be because we beat Oakland twice. 3 of the four halves being decisive.

Why can't it? The Seahawks and broncos won games on the backs of their defense. The Seahawks won a game against Aaron Rodgers where Russell Wilson threw FOUR ****ing interceptions.

I get that games have more intensity in the playoffs, but I hate the "the style that won in the regular season can't win in the playoffs" argument. It's still the same sport. The rules don't magically change in the playoffs. The Raiders wouldn't have magically become better than the Chiefs because it's not the regular season anymore.

The Seahawks were a top 5 defense, and #1 in points allowed, and that defense was complemented by a strong running and a QB that made timely plays on offense.

The Broncos were historically good on defense, and were also supported by an effective run game.

The Chiefs are not nearly as good defensively as either of those teams, and the offense is consistently inept.

What are you basing this off of? yardage stats? 3rd down %?

Yes, both areas suck... but how bout them PPG allowed? ranked 7th best.. is that not more important?

Bob Sutton is going bend don't break.. so judging the D on yards and 3rd down %... is that really the way to go?

( just like Andy's philosophy of the offense.. the yards, TDs, and % are all related to his decisions to go conservative with a lead )

CoMoChief 12-25-2016 08:41 AM

Chiefs have zero pass rush w/o Houston. Injured or not, Dee Ford has just completely disappeared the last 4 games or so.

Chiefs are DJ-less, on an already bad run defense.

And then there's always the Andy Reid/Alex Smith factor. We'll see multiple drives stall, 3nOuts, conservative passes and playcalling, not much moving of the chains.

This team has run into a plethora of problems all around. Hopefully Denver's shitty QB screws the pooch and plays shittier than our QB, that's about all we can hope for.

Denver 23
Kansas City 17

The Chiefs live and die on turnovers, and I just can't see them forcing the Steelers or (especially) the Patriots into those mistakes.

This is a concern of mine as well. However I think a lot of afc teams are flawed. KC doesn't have to play prefect games against them.

Now if KC makes it up against PIT or especially NE they might end up needing a special teams or defensive score. Defensive score seems unlikely against Brady. That will have to be a game where our red zone offense shows up and so does our pass rush.

I think it's possible. They have been inconsistent but the skill is there. For now somehow securing the two seed would make it more likely we only see PIT or NE which would help a lot.

The Chiefs are going to have lots of trouble when facing a good QB in the playoffs.
