Sickness

Have you been sick from the shit that's been going around? How long has it last and what are your symptoms?

Easy 6 02-22-2017 07:53 PM

Sick for 8 days and counting, not quite 100% yet but good enough to exist peacefully at this point

So glad I didnt procrastinate getting in to see the doctor or it could've gone on for God knows how long... get to the doc and get you some antibiotics, it'll drastically reduce your recovery time

BWillie 02-22-2017 07:54 PM

No.

I am immortal.

Sick of not winning a Super Bowl. Been going on my entire ****ing life. Symptoms include, but not limited to, yelling at the TV, kicking the TV, throwing the TV across the living room, etc.

I like the way you think about one percent of the time. This is that time.

I went down for almost a week.

Day one it felt like my kidneys were on fire and I was weak. Day 2-4 I was so nauseous just walking was a chore and the night fevers and chills were ignorant. If you take the pills for nausea three times as often as the label recommends, you can almost function in the house. Don't watch action movies though, I damn near died hard. Finally ate more than a saltine cracker on day 5. Day 6 and 7 I slowly moved through full days of work, that normally takes ~3 hours to do, like a Zombie. Spent the next 3-4 days blowing rancid crap out of my head.

Lost 10lbs. :toast:

dlphg9 02-22-2017 08:15 PM

So far I've had a cough, sore throat, fever and soreness. Sneezing hurts my joints lol. Never had that before

cdcox 02-22-2017 08:48 PM

I had some nasty disease back in November. I started puking at work. Started driving home. I made it 85% of the way, but had to pull off into a convenience store to redecorate the parking lot. Then the cycles began. Stage 1: curled up on the couch like a pill bug, wondering why the lights were so bright. Stage 2: moaning and groaning and wishing I was dead. Stage 3 sprint to the bathroom. I lost 6 lbs in 12 hours.

I tried to drag my ass to work the next day at noon and had to bail at 3:00 due to exhaustion.

Horrible stuff and then my wife came down with it.

Pepe Silvia 02-22-2017 08:50 PM

Yes and its been ****ing awful.

GloryDayz 02-22-2017 10:05 PM

This is the first year I've agreed that "there's something going around", and not just that stupid doctor shit they say on cue! I took my first sick day in 6 years because of it.

My peeps have it worse, and they range from Cali to Maine, and Miami to Fargo...

I was an unwilling host of a pretty awful bug two weeks ago. I imagine it looked like this:

Been sick for 8 days now. I'm pretty good during the day when work adrenaline is kicked in. But at night, ugh. Can't seem to shake it and I'm tired of throwing up. First time I've been sick since moving to Phoenix. Used to get the flu on the reg when I was doing time in KC. Lot's of temp variations and rain here this winter.

Work adrenaline = cocaine

Right?

Mom and dad had it the beg of Dec. They are in their 60's and i had to take care of them. Dad had it so bad i had to call 911. He had horrible bronchitis. He went to the ER 2 times. After the 2nd time though, he cleared up in like a few days and was fine. THen after theirs went away, i got it. I was laid out about 2 weeks. the body aches were real! Cough was really really bad. Then about 2 weeks after i got it again for about 3 days. This might have just been a head cold though. I twas just super stuffy nose, sore throat alot of mucus. Still have a tiny cough. DR said it can last up to 3 months. I have had it almost 2 months. Almost gone though.

This was the first time i been sick in a few years which is shocking since my niece and nephew always want me to watch tv with me when they are sick

Dunit35 02-23-2017 12:55 AM

My one year old, who was sick, sneezed into my mouth about two weeks ago now. I got sick two days later and it hasn't ended yet. I usually spray nasal spray up my nose to sleep at night. I try not to do it because it's not good stuff.

Coughing, runny/stuffed nose, fever.

Hell my wife took a sick day due to being sick. She's never called in before.

MatriculatingHank 02-23-2017 02:52 AM

Had acute bronchitis since Monday. Coughing up terrible looking junk.

i used to come down with bronchitis every three months until i stopped smoking. now i can't tell if i am getting a cold or if it's allergies. three years later, a couple flu's, shit ton of allergies, but no return of bronchitis. out of force of habit, if i wake up to this day, i assume im sick. i will call in to work, and three hours im fine. :D

Demonpenz 02-23-2017 03:30 AM

last year at this time my dad got deathly sick. I was sick and out of work for awhile which never happens. I think our immune system got stronger to withstand the shit this year.

R8RFAN 02-23-2017 06:38 AM

sick all last week,,, Worked Monday and Tuesday and now sick again ... head stopped up triggering migraines, sneezing 6 or 7 times in a row and feeling like I am going to cough up a lung

DC.chief 02-23-2017 07:08 AM

I got the flu and strep from someone at a superbowl party and although i'm doing much better i'm still not 100 percent. Still coughing up crap. Had a fever of 104 during the worst of it. Body aches all over. It was the worst

R8RFAN 02-23-2017 07:14 AM

Another drs appointment for me today

Dayze 02-23-2017 07:21 AM

mine started about 3 weeks ago with a tickle in my chest, then that night/early morning, have a 101 degree fever, coughing like a MF. so much coughing that I thought maybe i had cracked a rib or something. Subsequent coughs left me in so much pain in my rib area, it would double me over. it sucked.

Going on three weeks to the day, and I'm still coughing pretty regularly, but the rib pain is gone.. more of a residual cough now. This whole thing has sucked.

I blame it all on this ****ing dickbag at work who came to work coughin, sounded and looked horrible. said he had a fever. Everyone was like "Dude....go the **** home", and he replies with something like "I haven't missed a day of work in X # of years". Like he's going to get a ****ing medal for showing up. Our office is super small, so any sickness pretty much wipes out the entire office. And it has. I think everyone in the office has missed at least 2 days of work in the last 3 weeks.

asshole. stay at home.

Went to work Monday worked 13 hours Fine
Went to work Tues and about halfway thru the day throat was sore.
Tuesday Night cough and stopped up sinuses bad yet my nose was still draining, Could not sleep, crap in chest and sinuses draining in my throat forcing me to breath through my mouth and waking me up every 15 mins.
Wed sneezing 6 or 7 times in a row, coughing hard enough to cough up lung sinus congestion sluggish feeling.
Thursday sore throat almost gone, sinuses better but still coughing hard and feel bad over all

Scorp 02-23-2017 08:09 AM

Going on 6 weeks now. I went to doctor at week 4 and they gave me a Zpack. It helped a little. I have not gotten fully over this at week 6. I have good days between bad days right now

Symptoms:

Headache
Sore Throat (severe, worst I ever had)
Congestion
Eyes Constantly Tear
Sneezing ( I have produced enough snot to replace all the oil we have extracted from the earth)
Coughing (ribcage gets sore from coughing)
Wheezing from Lungs
Diarrhea

I never had a fever with this which is weird I think.

Pablo 02-23-2017 08:21 AM

FYI... antibiotics are only used for bacterial infection. It does absolutely nothing for cold or flu. Those are viruses. It has nothing to do with recovery time. Ask your doc.

Multiple sinus/ear infections the past 6 weeks. I'm on round two of antibiotics (a 21 day antibiotic this time). Ear infection caused vertigo, and that fukd my world up. Still dizzy from time to time. Got to end soon!

Nope. Knock on wood, i've been able to avoid it.

HOWEVER....

Back in November I did have an internal ischiorectal abscess inside my buttocks-cheek that had me immobilized and in the worst pain of my life for three days before I finally went to the doctor and he immediately booked me for surgery that evening to drain it.

Fun having two drain tubes sticking out of open wounds precariously next to your poop chute for 20 days, and having to try to live normally with a wad of gauze tucked between your cheeks. Felt like I had a stack of post-it notes shoved up my ass for three weeks.

welp, people have been through much worse, so I guess I am lucky?

Spoiler!

Both are guilty.

This guy took antibiotics and didn't even know what the hell he had. Not to mention he shared a prescription with his mom and, I want to say, he didn't even finish the round. He just stopped taking them once he felt better.

Yeah, I don't believe you for a second. Recommending that people use it for some kind of recovery booster is stupid and downright dangerous. It's not used for recovery purposes, it's used for directly treating an infection. It should only be used for that purpose, and never more than what's barely necessary. It should only be recommend by a doctor who has directly identified an infection. It's not something you ask your doctor for. It's something your doctor diagnoses.

They kill antibacterial indiscriminately, including the good bacteria that helps you digest food, absorb nutrients, fight disease, etc.

People should try and stay away from them if at all possible.

That said, I understand people will take legit anything a doctor prescribes when they're sick and looking for relief.

dlphg9 02-24-2017 05:58 AM

why more people don't have TigerUppercut on ignore is beyond me.
I wish there was a way when one adds someone to ignore, they're gone - don't show up in anywhere ever. Not when someone else quotes the ignored user...nada. It wouldn't matter.....Tiger would still post, and argue with himself. Sadly, even if everyone ignored him completely, he still wouldn't get the hint that no one on the board wants to interact with him.

I used to have him on ignore. But the amusement factor he provides with his dipshittery is hard to beat.

I wish there was a way when one adds someone to ignore, they're gone - don't show up in anywhere ever. Not when someone else quotes the ignored user...nada. It wouldn't matter.....Tiger would still post, and argue with himself. The only interaction we have with him is online and completely voluntary.

There are people that are forced to interact with him on a daily basis in some capacity. Poor souls.
