actor Bill Paxton dead

Game over man.......Game over...

http://people.com/movies/bill-paxton...urgery-age-61/

Emmy-winning actor Bill Paxton died due to complications from surgery, PEOPLE confirms.

“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” a family representative said in a statement. “A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

The Texas native, who won an Emmy for his work in the TV mini-series Hatfields and McCoys, began acting in the 1970s. His earliest acting credits include minor roles in blockbusters such as Terminator (1984) and Aliens (1986).

Paxton’s notable performances include playing Morgan Earp in Tombstone (1993), Fred Haise in Apollo 13 (1995), the lead role in the 1996 hit Twister and as treasure hunter Brock Lovett in Titanic (1997).

Awesome in the new CBS series training day

But what does "complications from surgery" mean? He's young. He shouldn't have complications, unless the surgery was major or unexpected

It will eventually come out. Like Dick Schaap dying on the operating table due to complications that arose during a routine hip replacement that many thousands of Americans experience everyday. Manure comes up in routine things during surgery and sometimes it can be fatal even though all precautions were taken. Sometimes the body does not routinely respond as expected to surgery as most do. Very well could be a deflective statement about something else much more private. Who knows ?

Hated reading this. Especially since it was due to complications from surgery. Especially since I'm having surgery tomorrow. Like reading about a plane crash before a trip.

61 is pretty young to die from a surgery infection or embolism. Something seems off.

There's always a risk of infection with any surgery, but that's usually afterwards. You can throw an embolism at any age. I had a friend pass at 27 from one during a pretty minor surgery and he was the picture of health. It could have been a reaction to the anesthesia.
I was really starting to enjoy his new series as well. It was kind of a 180 from his role in Big Love.

They're saying now it was a stroke from complications of heart surgery...

Dammit, RIP Bill Paxton. Loved him in Big Love among others, but that was the biggest role that I followed.

Sometimes when your number's up, your number's up. He was obviously a very wealthy man and must have had a top notch team doing the work.

I'm listening to a podcast he did with Marc Maron right how. Bill said that when he was a kid he had a bout of rheumatic fever which for a while he didn't know he had and it ended up damaging one of his heart valves.

He might have been in a surgery for that for all we know.

Also, 60 isn't young, especially for someone with heart disease.

Frailty had one of the greatest twist endings of all time. It was right up there with Usual Suspects. It's a shame more people haven't seen it. Whenever the subject of obscure films comes up, I always recommend it.

It's a shame that movie is largely forgotten. Not even on Blu Ray. Tom Arnold was also brilliant.

Little known fact: Bill came up with most of that dialogue. He derived it from his father!

Most likely a stroke during/after valve replacement surgery. It's a huge threat for that kind of surgery.

And it's a shame. Reading up about the guy, it appears Paxton was the kind of actor who was admired by the boom operators, set personnel, as well as other actors. The guy who knew their names, and didn't forget a face.

Travel Well, BP.

ROYC75 02-26-2017 05:04 PM

Damn, too young, such a talent too.

I was scheduled for back surgery Tuesday but have canceled due to a lingering cold and a bad case of the flu within our home the last month.

Just didn't want to take that chance.
