Brandon Marshall released

And now the Jets are releasing WR Brandon Marshall, per sources.

Smith could use another weapon.

Jewish Rabbi 03-02-2017 09:00 PM

Bring him in for a look, see if there's any tread left on his tires.

Coochie liquor 03-02-2017 09:00 PM

Much moar weapons for Casse.... Smith!!

Frazod 03-02-2017 09:04 PM

Another receiver running open downfield while Alice checks off to the running back. Woohoo!

DJJasonp 03-02-2017 09:04 PM

Last season he really looked like he quit on his team. Maybe injuries, but several games he looked like a half-effort guy

I like Marshall. A lot.

Jewish Rabbi 03-02-2017 09:05 PM

He'd be good on a bet minimum incentive laden contract.

Hammock Parties 03-02-2017 09:09 PM

If I was a borderline HOF WR the last place I would want to be is on a team with Alex Smith.

Baby Lee 03-02-2017 09:10 PM

How many practice days does he get off to travel to his NY Inside the NFL gig?

Mile High Mania 03-02-2017 09:11 PM

I'll bet he's worth a 2-3 year deal, not crazy money... but he still has value.

Mephistopheles Janx 03-02-2017 09:12 PM

Yes please. I'd love for Hill to play out of the slot with Marshall on the other side of Maclin.

Alex won't hardly throw to any of them but Marshall can throw a block or two for Ware (or whomever we draft with our compensatory 3rd round pick).

Trade Maclin and sign Marshall. Maclin can't stay healthy, he's wasting our time.

Draft Juju Smith in the 2nd

Marshall, Smith, Hill, Conley.

Tony Romo!

T-post Tom 03-02-2017 09:24 PM

Do not want. We do not need a soon-to-be 33 year-old receiver with that much baggage.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-02-2017 09:26 PM

I'd take him over Maclin...

Just to have a boner watching our WRs wide open knowing that in 2018 it's going to be ****ing crazy

Red Dawg 03-02-2017 09:28 PM

Him and AP will end up in NE with Brady's old ass.

Titty Meat 03-02-2017 09:29 PM

Dude was a beast the first 4 or 5 games last year and then just quit when he realized the Jets didn't have a QB

Nickhead 03-02-2017 09:30 PM

four years too late unfortunately

Squalor2 03-02-2017 09:30 PM

i think he caught more passes from Boomer on inside the nfl.

In58men 03-02-2017 09:37 PM

Stays on the field longer than Maclin. Let's keep non producing injury prone Maclin though, seems smart.

bevischief 03-02-2017 09:43 PM

Can he'll cover the middle?...

BryanBusby 03-02-2017 09:57 PM

Looks like the Jets are out in front in the suck shit for Sam sweepstakes

Can he play ILB, cause thats all I want in free agency

Chief Northman 03-02-2017 10:39 PM

****, the Chiefs would be better off acquring Revis than this diva.

He cares more about being an analyst, and trying to sound intelligent with his gig on Inside the NFL.

He is a different type of cancer now. Zero ****s given.

Scooter LaCanforno 03-03-2017 05:25 AM

He'll probably sign with the Patriots, Panthers,Cowboys or Redskins.

rtmike 03-03-2017 08:04 AM

He'll retire and head for the broadcast booth.

Shaid 03-03-2017 08:38 AM

I like him but Smith only throws to players that are quick cuts to create massive separation. He won't throw to Marshall.

Welcome to New England Brandon.

Brandon Marshall has never ever been on a playoff team. He is a cancer and a CURSE.

Do. Not. Want.

In 2015 Maclin broke the record for receptions in a season by a Chief.

I don't see Marshall going to NE. I can't imagine Josh McDaniels would have a lot of good things to say about him.

Entry for the CP lexicon:

"Borderline HOF" - An above-average player who never played for Kansas City

There are only 17 guys in NFL history with more catches than Brandon Marshall.

People said the same about Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, Albert Haynesworth, Chad Ochocinco, etc. but Belichick at least took a chance on them, and for the first two got phenomenal production.

The question is whether he is a bad GUY, or a guy who doesn't do well in a bad situation. Believe me that if he DOES end up on the Patriots, it will only be AFTER a conversation in which it is impressed on him that him getting only two targets in one game is NOT something the coaches give an actual **** about, and if he does, then cya.

I'm guessing your HOF ballot would be filled with guys like TO, Rod Smith, Clinton Portis, Ricky Watters, etc

Also TO absolutely deserves the HOF.

I don't know why anyone would not put TO in the hall of fame. Those other guys no, but TO should be.

This isn't even accurate (he's 23rd), and he's 30th all time in rushing.

It's a bad comparison.

If Marshall has a couple more 1,000-yard seasons he's easily a HOFer

It's a great comparison to you putting a guy in the HOF over being about 20th all-time in one statistic.

Explain to me right now why Rickey Watters isn't in the HOF?

Look up his rushing and receiving yards...

He'll be close to the top 10 before it's all said and done.

RobBlake 03-03-2017 12:43 PM

I can see him going to Bal, Pitt, CAR, or even SEA.

Mile High Mania 03-03-2017 01:06 PM

Marshall won't go to NE... they don't win titles with big name signings like that one.

Welp, he is most likely smart enough to stay away from KC.

jjchieffan 03-03-2017 06:10 PM

Is this the first time in his career that he has been a free agent? He has been traded multiple times, but never a free agent I believe.

Mile High Mania 03-08-2017 08:43 AM

And, he's now a Giant... 2 years and $12m, I believe. Brandon as the #2 with OBJ... Eli says "sweet".

Between OBJ and Marshall it'll be very entertaining to watch the Giants implode.
