Former Chiefs in the NFL
The soon-to-arrive poll includes all known former Chiefs over the age of 30 who are currently on rosters and/or competing for roster spots around the league. Of these, who most surprises you by still being active in the NFL?
|
My most surprising players are:
1. Eric Winston. I thought he was on his last career legs with the Chiefs, and I was surprised when he got signed with another team. And that was years ago. 2. Erik Walden. This guy was a marginal special teams linebacker for us and got cut, and he's still in the league a decade later. Amazing. 3. Wallace Gilberry. I liked him as a Chief, so it didn't surprise me that he had a good career. But man, the guy's been going forever since he left. I didn't know he was that good. 4. Matt Cassel. I don't know how he was even in the NFL in the first place, so I have to list him here. |
Wallace Gilberry is kind of surprising.

Eric Winston. Pussy lips has been shit for years now.
|
Isn't Shaun Draughn still around on a roster?
That shit surprises me. |

Doesn't surprise me that he's still around. I'm more surprised that he hasn't gotten any starting attention. I always thought he was a talented back. |
I voted all these names surprise me but Brandon Carr is my least surprised.
|
Matt Cassel is either the greatest con artist or magician to ever live.

As of right now, Tyson Jackson is currently unemployed.
Glenn Dorsey is surprising simply because 2008 was 9 years ago, and he's never been anything more than painfully average. I remember the Falcons taking Ryan over Dorsey, the next Warren Sapp, and almost destroying my television. What a disappointment. EDIT: And after a quick google search, Glenn Dorsey is also a free agent. I would be shocked if he plays another down. |

I can't believe G Dorsey knees let him walk. That was the knock on him out of college that he has bad knees that's why i was surprised we took him with our #5 overall pick that year. |
Thomas Gafford

Cassell still being on a roster somewhere is the equivalent of Ted McGinley still being a working actor. |
Jamaal Charles.
He hasn't had a 100 yard game since mid-2014. |

Jackson or Cassel, take your pick

Matt Cassel
The guy has to have pictures of Roger Goodell fornicating with a farm animal, that would be the only thing that would explain it. |
That's a tough list to choose just one.

I was never a big Jamaal Charles fan. He had a creepy vibe to me. Like you would leave the room to take a pee and walk back in and he'd be sucking on your dog's foot and not understand why you're uncomfortable.

Gotta go with Matt Cassell though, that guy made millions off of being mediocre talent. Ape man Winston is a close 2nd.

Fasano.
Dude needed a walker 5 years ago. |

Lol...
Almost all of them. There is a serious lack of bodies to go around. |
You could have combined Matt Cassel & Alex Taney, they are both down here in TN backing up Marriota.

Dan Orlovsky is still in the NFL. Not shocked about Cassel.

Unreal to think we had a team anchored around Cassel, Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson at one time
 |

Who the **** is Erik Walden? I don't remember him at all.
I actually wasn't too surprised by any of these. I think a few of the least talented like kickers and Cassel play at positions that either allow for constant second chances or are safe positions. Quote:

Not always his fault, but google 'Ted McGinley Grim Reaper' Paula Marshall used to be his female counterpart. |
Disagree: He was on Love Boat for two seasons, Happy Days for 2 seasons and Married with Children for 6 seasons, not the last 5 episodes. Yes, all those shows died with him in the cast...I remembered Dynasty (2 seasons) but not the West Wing gig.
