Time for Mahomes

Let's go

Dartgod 11-19-2017 02:45 PM

Yep, I'm on the bandwagon now. **** Alex Smith. Worthless turd.

TLO 11-19-2017 02:45 PM

ok

SAUTO 11-19-2017 02:45 PM

Its time

carcosa 11-19-2017 02:45 PM

Yes

Gravedigger 11-19-2017 02:45 PM

Reid will have an uprising on his hands if he doesn't make the switch. If I were Clark I would demand it. With shitty teams coming into Arrowhead, the cold drop out of fans this time of the year, this just screams QB change.

Pablo 11-19-2017 02:45 PM

Please please please.

You guys do realize Alex Smith was leading the NFL in QB rating before the game right? Hes NOT getting benched. Zero chance.

DaneMcCloud 11-19-2017 03:28 PM

No better time than the present.

The Chiefs are winning nothing with Smith.

Who cares?

26 points scored in 9 quarters.

1 TD and 5 FG’s against Denver.

The offense is dead with Smith.

eDave 11-19-2017 03:30 PM

I'm in now. But will it make a difference to play calling?

What a joke. We are losing our ass and on offense we don't score. Does QB rating win games?

Can't disagree at this point. Flush the turd.

kcpasco 11-19-2017 03:31 PM

Yeah right. Andy will protect him.

Mr. Flopnuts 11-19-2017 03:31 PM

He's living off the NE game. He's largely been the Alex Smith of old ever since. Ultra conservative, dink and dunk, average QB. The only difference the in games 1-4 ish is that he'd have a few big plays sprinked in and didn't throw a pick.

SupDock 11-19-2017 03:31 PM

I'll jump on board. This team is going nowhere

Zero chance of winning in the playoffs either.

pugsnotdrugs19 11-19-2017 03:31 PM

Absolutely.

This team looks uninspired. Honestly, I think they realized they were headed for another playoff disappointment right after the Pittsburgh game. They went all limp dick after that.

We need a spark. Idc about playoffs this year. We need to build the foundation for the future NOW.

ILChief 11-19-2017 03:31 PM

Banner time?

Dayze 11-19-2017 03:32 PM

It’s time. But it’ll never happen as long as Smith is healthy.

Andy is either too stubborn or stupid to realize that This team have virtually zero chance of winning in the playoffs with smith.

Playcalling doesn't matter when Mahomes goes into freestyle mode. That said, I think you guys need to just be patient. Reed is going to stick with Alex the rest of this year.

TimBone 11-19-2017 03:32 PM

Not that I think the team will suddenly turn it around with Mahomes, but I guess I'm ready to see him, too.

The team isn't going far into the playoffs, regardless of who is behind center. Might as well get a look at Mahomes, and let him get some regular season snaps.

KChiefs1 11-19-2017 03:32 PM

Why not?

This team is going nowhere.

Im not saying I agree but there is no way Mahomes is starting this year unless we are out of the playoffs.

Iconic 11-19-2017 03:32 PM

If you are Andy you have to seriously consider pulling Smith now.

There's just no ****ing point anymore. We are not going to the god damn mother ****ing Superbowl with Alex ****ing Smith.

Ming the Merciless 11-19-2017 03:33 PM

Too risky

pugsnotdrugs19 11-19-2017 03:33 PM

Some of Andy's playcalls are God awful, make no mistake, but it's not like he's screaming into Alex's ear 'CHECK IT DOWN!' every other play. That's just Alex deferring any risk and taking the safe route.

This team was exposed by Pittsburgh. This season is lost. Mahomes for the reps and a head start on next year.

Yep and I had Mahomes as the best QB in the draft.

If Reid wants to win this year, it’s time to make the switch.

pugsnotdrugs19 11-19-2017 03:35 PM

Not to mention, there is no better slew of opponents to throw Mahomes at really. We don't play a really good defense for the rest of the year.

Mahomes needs some game reps. **** alex smiths trade value, its gone anyway.

It's interesting...up until this week....i would've made the opposite argument....but now I have to agree. Pull trigger

eDave 11-19-2017 03:38 PM

With Smith, we are going to the playoffs to lose. Not to win.

GoChargers 11-19-2017 03:38 PM

They should have made the switch the minute they drafted him.

Discuss Thrower 11-19-2017 03:39 PM

Odds are he's not going to look stellar for roughly 20 games.

Might as well start that clock and play for the future.

Pushead2 11-19-2017 03:39 PM

I'm onboard, it's time for Smith to go.

If anything, it could be a win/win for the Chiefs for the present and future. Either Mahomes turns out to be very good or it could light a fire under Smith if Mahomes isn't.

One way or another, it has to happen.

T-post Tom 11-19-2017 03:40 PM

I've held out, but now I'm in. Win or lose, give him the reps.

Dude, Smith had his fire lit. It burnt out after a couple games. It's over.

Based on the first five games.

He’s 1-4 since.

If you think we win a playoff game with him at QB you’re high.

You just never know. Watson looked spectacular immediately. Wentz was just ok, and Goff was absolutely atrocious.

But yes, we need to get the experience rolling.

Dayze 11-19-2017 03:42 PM

Andy doesn’t have the balls to make the switch.
Has to keep Smith in because of the myth that he’s somehow created that his offense is so god damn complicated, that only Alex has the mental acuity to handle it.

**** Andy if he doesn’t make the switch. Fat ****ing pussy. He can ride out of town being towed by a limo, while sitting in a hot tub of bbq sauce for all I care.

ANDY IS A QB WHISPERER

RINGLEADER 11-19-2017 03:43 PM

The pros are that Mahomes gets the reps heading into next season against lower-quality opponents mostly at home.

The cons are that we might not win a playoff game this season - which isn’t happening anyway with Smith.

Do it!

Wentz was way better than okay. They started 5-0 and their lack of receiving options held him back. After their 2017 offseason, they added weapons and are 8-1.

Goff was hosed by the coaching staff.

That won’t happen to Mahomes.

This.

Start Mahomes now.

If Reid doesn’t....then he can get the **** out.

The Franchise 11-19-2017 03:45 PM

The Bills just benched their starting QB after one horrible game and they had a winning record.

Chiefs need to be the second.

DaneMcCloud 11-19-2017 03:46 PM

The Chiefs can either go 3-3 with Smith and win the division, only to be One and Done

-Or-

Go 3-3 with Mahomes and a chance to do better than One and Done

The choice is clear

Mr_Tomahawk 11-19-2017 03:46 PM

Pablo 11-19-2017 03:48 PM

Alex is going to continue to play. Andy will not make the switch. We're gonna have to hope for a Cassel situation. The way Alex was out there diving and taking shots, we might see Pat very soon.

ThaVirus 11-19-2017 03:48 PM

I've been against playing Mahomes this season regardless of Alex's play, but now I just don't see any reason not to start the kid.

I meant Wentz was okay over the course of the entire season. Started hot, ended cold.

But yes, Mahomes should be in a great position to succeed with the coaches and going against relatively weak opponents.

srvy 11-19-2017 03:48 PM

Needs to happen but probably wont. Andy needs to call Smith out but wont he held the ball to long so many times today. So your receiving corps is decimated deal with it. We wont open up the run till Alex proves he can pull out his bunched up panties and throw downfield. If he cant then give the 1st team snaps to Pat.

Eleazar 11-19-2017 03:48 PM

The argument against it is - why send Mahomes out there to get killed behind this offensive line? At least make some offseason moves and get him some protection.

Fish 11-19-2017 03:49 PM

Sounds risky. What if he throw's INTs?

[Looks at Smith's stats]

Nevermind...

TribalElder 11-19-2017 03:49 PM

You must be joking

The line is fine. Fisher, Morse, LDT and Schwartz are going nowhere.

Replace the QB.

He done.

staylor26 11-19-2017 03:50 PM

When just about every single person that’s been saying “sit Mahomes” changes their tune at the same exact time, you know it’s time.

Well see what kind of mentality this coaching staff and management have. Winners, or “hope to” winners.

We have signed our LT, RT, RG to long term deals with significant money invested. Morse doesn't seem to have been the problem, so what do we do to improve our OL?

carcosa 11-19-2017 03:51 PM

Alex needs to dive into a few more linebackers like he did today

mschiefs1984 11-19-2017 03:52 PM

And a new playcaller would be nice to

I mean who cares who the QB is if the TE is going to be the one throwing the football anyway

pugsnotdrugs19 11-19-2017 03:53 PM

The offensive line, at least in terms of pass pro, was really solid today.

Otter 11-19-2017 03:53 PM

No way. Set this kid up for success, not failure. You really want to see him have to jump in this shit show?
