I don't buy that at all. They might mean he gets 3 snaps running our offense, which obviously isn't nearly enough.. but he's running the scout team for a whole lot more than 3 plays.

In short, the A Team asked if it was time for Mahomes. Terez got really pissed off and vocal, then handed it to Mellinger.

Mellinger was then interrupted by Terez, who basically said that there’s no way Smith is replaced. Mellinger said Pat is 3 years removed from high school.

Then Terez said Mahomes is gettting 3 snaps per practice, to which Mellinger nodded in agreement.

They went on to say the switching to Mahomes would piss off the Vets because it would signal giving up on the season.

Listening to that....all I heard was "2 snaps a day or whatever". I didn't hear a "I've heard he's been taking X amount of snaps in practice". I heard nothing official.

I listened, and I think the whole thing is nonsense. If Clark Hunt really believes that this team has a chance at a Super Bowl with Smith, he should be forced to sell the team immediately. That's over. Ain't gonna happen. And that's what these douchers at the Star need to realize too. The Super Bowl is long gone. The ONLY remote chance they'd have is if Mahomes did play and was dominating in ways that we can't expect so early on.

In the podcast, it was mentioned that Peters was pissed off after one of Alex’s interceptions and Houston had to calm him down before heading back on the field.

I saw Hill get pissed twice heading to the sideline after failed 3rd down conversions.

There's no way that those guys really know what Clark thinks right now, but they acted like he would be furious if we benched Smith. I don't see that. Surely to goodness Clark can see the writing on the wall too.

They must mean that Mahomes only gets 2-3 snaps a day with the actual offense. As the scout team QB, he's probably running just as many plays as Smith. If he's doing 'spectacular things', the team is going to take notice and whether it's as the scout QB or within the actual offense really won't make a difference to them.

Sounds like PR bullshit. The league has seen what Deshaun Watson did coming in as a rookie. No ****ing way do the vets think watching Alex shit all over himself on the field is better than what Mahomes could offer. That's not giving up that's giving hope.

And anyone who watched Mahomes preseason highlights during the Titans game can see these guys are foaming at the mouths for change.

If Alex continues to play like shit and Andy does nothing, he’s in danger of losing the team not only this year, but next year as well.

The most telling part to me was when the Chiefs game ended and the Patriots vs Raiders came on and we got to remind ourselves of what a real and disciplined QB/Offense looks like. It was like watching a whole different league. I love watching Tom.

Brady is so far ahead of everyone else right now. It's insane. They will walk to the Super Bowl IMO. Hoodie has their defense lined out enough to be fine.

Scary thing though - most of us would look good under center if we went against our defense in practice everyday...

DeAndre Hopkins was behind Tom Savage entering week 1, and that ****ing guy went to Clemson just like DeShaun Watson, so you think he'd be excited before the kid got his shot.

Well his tune changed real quick and he started getting excited. Funny how players don't give a shit if results happen on the field.

Every offensive player has to be tired of playing with Smith.

Kelce is widely considered a top 3 TE.....and he goes entire portions of the game without being targeted.

Hill is the top deep threat in the league....and only gets like 1-2 deep looks a game.

Robinson tore it up in the preseason with Mahomes and now just rots at the #2 spot.

And lastly our offensive line gets shit on.....because Smith gets happy feet and runs into sacks.

Yep. And it wasn't due to anything Kelce did. He had a drop around the 10 yard line, but the playcall was stupid. The safety was right on him the second the ball was there.

Louis Riddick said if Smith continues to falter, this situation bears watching if Mahomes plays.

They need something to talk about because the NFL is boring.

10 games into the 2017 season, only five teams have a winning record in the AFC.

Outside of Pittsburgh, there’s no team that could even have a chance at beating them in January.

The NFC is slightly more competitive but there are 8 teams with losing records, while the Eagles and Vikings all but have their divisions sewn up and the playoff field is nearly set.

I take it as Smith has been put on a short leash. Reed didn't exactly defend Smith's performance for the first time this year. Personally, I don't know if Smith can light it up against the Bills. Maybe he will, but I just don't see it based on the past 5 games. I think the Steeler's game did him in.

The AFC is boring and predictable every year. I do still admire Brady though.

But I find myself rooting for an NFC team to come out on top this year. That's a conference with some interesting things going on. The Saints resurgence, the Eagles, the Rams suddenly are very good. All of that is interesting to me.

These vets have 4-5 yrs with AS and know that he is smart and are willing to overlook his happy feet and wide open missed WRs and limited arm ability because they have a trust and deeper personal relationship with loyalty being reciprocated both ways with AS far more than with PM2 at this point. Kelce thinks AS walks on water for goodness sake !!

It was around this time of the season when McNabb came off the bench for the Eagles when he was a rookie in the 2nd half for a couple of games. Then he took over with 6 games to go. Now granted, the Eagles sucked, but that pretty much describes the Chiefs right now minus the crappy play of the rest of the AFC West.

Dude, that is not good on Peters that Houston had to calm him down. He needs to show maturity and leadership when your fellow teammates are struggling and show self-control and encouragement, NOT, "GHTFOH" !!!! Not that Mahomes HASNT looked spectacular, but Mortenson is just trying to look like hes got an inside scoop on things, and its the type of statement that no team is going to refute or even respond to.

Mortensen has always been pretty reputable.

I don't have a problem really with starting Mahomes, although I don't think he is ready, but I'm amazed at how many of you have anointed him the second coming of Jesus before he has even taken a single meaningful snap in the NFL. He has a lot of potential, but none of us knows how he will work out at this point.
