What's been the worst non-retirement/non-firing of a Chiefs coach/personnel guy?

In recent memory, that is.

I mean the kind where you're more excited to hear about their firings than you were about Hugh Douglas possibly signing as a free agent with KC. You think in your mind, "This guy is dreadful. Freaking disgusting awful terribad. He's GOT to get fired! 99.9% of the bosses on the planet in ANY job would fire an employee if they performed this poorly!" But his departure never arrived...

Poll forthcoming.

Did not include such fan favorites as Romeo Crennel, Clancy Pendergast, or Bill Muir because their steads were so short, and we didn't really have time to demand they get fired before Hunt/GM/coach actually did something about it.

errr....Pioli isn't on the list? Or am I misreading the question?

carcosa 01-10-2018 03:44 PM

I'll wait until Reid blows at least 5 more playoff games to vote for him

Rain Man 01-10-2018 03:54 PM

It's really a close call between Hackett and Robinson. I went with Robinson, but felt bad that I couldn't also vote for Hackett.

When GROB came back everyone knew deep down they had ruined next season. The defense was even WORSE in 2004.

They wasted Trent Green's best season.

I went with Robinson, but it was a close call with Carl. Surprised nobody voted for The King yet. There's a guy who stayed on the shelf long past his expiration date.

I'm confused regarding Haley.

I don't think under any normal circumstance he would have been fired after his first season or after winning the division.

Additionally, he was fired almost near the end of the 2011 season, so how exactly was he kept for too long?

wazu 01-10-2018 04:17 PM

Robinson by a mile.

CoMoChief 01-10-2018 04:18 PM

Greg Robinson coming back for the 2003 season, leading to the no punt game.

ILChief 01-10-2018 04:21 PM

Two things on Robinson:

1. He was fired. A year too late, but he was

2. He sucked, but look at the players we had on defense those years. This year's team was the 85 Bears talent-wise compared to the 2003 defense

I voted for grandpa Bob

Oh shit. For some reason I thought he came back in 04.

Even worse then. People wanted him fired after 02? I didn't remember that at all. ROFL

It can't be Sutton. Claynus told me Sutton is fine.

Nah, we can pretty much assume that the winner of this poll is #2 behind Pioli in this category.

Buehler445 01-10-2018 08:05 PM

Squirmin Herman Mother****ing Sack of **** Edwards.

Scott Franchise Killer Pioli.

King Carl.

WilliamTheIrish 01-10-2018 08:18 PM

Easily worst was Lamar allowing Jack Steadman to continue to run the franchise into the ground during the 70’ and 80’s.

bevischief 01-11-2018 02:21 AM

Where is all the above option?

It's understandable, you were still wearing capes back then.

notorious 01-11-2018 08:26 AM

Matt Cassell/ Pioli. They shoved that piece shit down our throats for WAY to long.

Molitoth 01-11-2018 08:28 AM

Romeo Crennel if I was forced to pick a coach.
Scott Pioli if I can pick a GM.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 01-11-2018 08:32 AM

When did you want Haley fired? After his first year? He went 10-6 with a shit roster his 2nd, and was fired during his third.

There are people who didn't like Haley based on his Press conference attitude and his physical appearance.

At least he had a clue and was being hamstrung by a power monger GM who was attached to a shit QB.

Crennel was absolutely clueless.

Sassy Squatch 01-11-2018 08:48 AM

I miss Haley.

Probably the same people who complained about Dorsey not wearing suits and that he 'rubbed some people the wrong way'. Who cares? Judge them on performance.
