Would you trade Justin houston and our 2nd
To the Browns for #4. Houstons cap savings would be 20 mil.
|
To go up and grab who?
|
no
|
i love these outrageous threads, it makes me laugh
|
What player would we be desperate for?
|
Houston for Gordon... Artemus Gordon
|
Baker Mayfield at 4
Take the 20 mil and sign Jimmy Graham and 2 OL Mayfield gives us our backup and could also be used for a trade in a year or two to get picks. Plus Denver doesn't get him |
I wouldn’t hesitate if Bradley Chubb were there.
|
No, but why would this even be a thought? To trade that for multiple other picks?
|
For a backup Quarterback that the Broncos were going try to get could be entertaining to watch Elway bucking around in his stable.

You’d be insane not to

And Draft that Texas punter and let Colquitt walk. Another upgrade and cap savings |
If the moon were made of barbeque spare ribs would you eat it then?

If we wanted to go 8-8 avegeraging 34ppg but allowing 32ppg
|
trade your third best player on defense and your 2nd round pick to move up and draft a qb that you dont need. Meth is a hell of a drug
|
No. Need another pick in return. The Clark’s are stupid enough to approve as is, however.
|
Houston is a huge salary so of course

Doesn't matter, the Browns would never do that deal anyway. Go propose it on their board |
Yes if whoever you grab at #4 you're 100% sure he's locking that position down for the next 8 years. I'd also want a low 4th or 3rd back.

Yes, it won't happen but yes I would.

There's 12 million in dead money there, anyway. We'd be seeing 8 million, not 20 million.

Houston and Gordon. Worthless noose contracts.
|
I know Hog Farmer is trying to Demonpenz us all, but I still want to bring this up:
Who cares? If Mahomes goes down, I have zero reason to watch this year's Chiefs anyway. May as well take the top 5 pick in 2019 as a consolation prize. |

I suppose it would depend on who they're targeting, but my first reaction is to say no
Not ready to ditch our best pass rusher yet, put some talent back along that front 7 and he can still be productive... he doesnt even turn 30 until January |

Hog - fat, drunk, and retired is no way to go through life.
Wait a minute, maybe it is :hmmm: |

If they actually trade up chances are whoever they trade up for is a guy they feel is a guaranteed superstar anyway. |
There is no reason to believe that Mayfield would have any better result than a Chase Daniel would as a backup QB. It is not like we are just going to compete for a Championship with Mayfield in his first year. We would be just as likely to be drafting in the middle of the 1st with whatever backup QB.

The cap savings is not 20 mil. It's about 8 mil with the dead cap hit this year. No it's definitely not worth it.

Houston is damaged but what would that do to locker room. We made a commitment to him in a big way and DJ and Hali are going out. I would do it for Peters and draft Fitzpatrick. No problem.
|
Drafting Baker would be an insane move.
|
|
Nope.
|
The Chiefs are going to have enough cap room that dumping Houston doesn't make sense. There's a point of diminishing returns on cap room. You wind up having too much and not having enough good players to use it on.
|
I probably would, but not for mayfield. Getting rid of Houston’s salary would be nice.
|
For Chubb maybe
Other than that meh It would never happen anyway |
This is not the year to trade Houston. Next year it's going to happen, though. 21M to keep and 7M to trade/cut.
He has one year left on the Chiefs. Additionally, drafting a backup QB at 4 is the dumbest ****ing thing I might have ever read. |
Trade up to 4 and draft a QB? That’s beyond stupid. That’s ignorant. You get rid of your best linebacker and now would just have Ford and Tanoh.
|
Mayfield is Hog's new Manzel.
|
Chiefs fans are such cut throats...smh
|
Trade a top-3 guy from the defense so that you have to find two edge rushers instead of one this off season. Makes perfect sense especially since they might have a hard time finding one average to above average rusher in this group of FA or top two rounds of the draft.

Houston and our 2nd? **** no. If it was Houston for their 1st and 2nd, then I'd think about it. You know you're replacing Houston with the pick at #4. You have to get more than that to even consider it.
|
Not likely for that trade......Sutton is voing to make thia a monster d and Houston os a big part of it.......riiiiiigggght?
|
y'all do realize that real life isn't Madden, right?

I'd trade Houston & 3rd round pick for Chubb. |

I don’t think I would draft mayfield with our 7th round pick.
|
If the Chiefs were to somehow, some way, land Bradley Chubb, I'd get a jersey with his number but change the name on the back to 'FullMast'

And hell the **** no... |

Trade to 4 and take a QB would be looked at soooooo bad. What would Mahomes and the team think if such a brain dead move. Two number 1 picked QBs in their forst years. Totally stupid.

Get to #4 and draft a QB?https://media.giphy.com/media/xUOwG7...jLGg/giphy.gif

The Browns wouldn't do that.

I hope to God we wouldn't... |

I say one more year, let him mentor a young draft pass rusher for a year and see the chemistry between the two. Without Tamba and Houston this defense doesn't have anyone to get to the QB.

We need to go back to a more aggressive pass rushing defense that highlights Houston's skill set. Maybe if we can improve the secondary we can get our pass rush back
