I think Marcus Peters wants to be wideout

Abba-Dabba 02-27-2018 05:46 AM

Kinda funny the shade he threw at Kareem and the OL.

Rain Man 02-27-2018 08:27 AM

I think he'll thrive in a defense that rushes the passer.

And allows him to be agressive and play press and go make plays.

Why, because they basically replaced Trumain Johnson with Marcus Peters?

Yea. That's a huge upgrade.

Tribal Warfare 02-27-2018 02:31 PM

Isn't that a false sense of bravado concerning how he'll pick off Mahomes.

LOL, he won't be able to keep up with Tyreek on go routes. They'll start calling Peters' island Japan because he'll see bombs all day long like WWII.

Mr Hammock 02-27-2018 11:48 PM

I still think it says a lot that Chris Ballard wasn't willing to give up more than the Rams did. Heck of a talent, but you can't have disruptions in the locker room.

HemiEd 02-28-2018 09:23 AM

"I know dats right"

The light of love is measured not by the duration of its flame, but by the brightness with which it burned.

Just tackle baby! Glad he's gone!

Playing off and reading the triangle is how he gets so many turnovers.

Press him up and play man and he won't get so many picks.

It will allow teams to take advantage of his lack of elite speed.

Explain how to do that a bit further please.

Do you honestly believe a team that was 4-12 and rebuilding is in a position to trade draft picks for a guy that's only going to be around for 2 years?

You want me to explain why a CB playing a trail technique in man coverage won't get as many picks as a CB who plays off in zone reading the QB, RB, and WR to predetermine the route and jump it?

Seriously?

Peters is known for staring down the QB and reading the play as it develops, which is due to his knowledge of routes and his film study. You don't do that in press man coverage. You can't.

I'm not saying he can't succeed in that situation, but you're taking away one thing he's absolutely special at. Reading offenses and jumping routes. I think Wade Phillips is smarter than that.

LMAO Blatantly ignores the fact that after the flag tossing he walked off the field and headed for the showers despite being told he wasn't out of the game.

Chiefnj2 02-28-2018 01:47 PM

According to PFF, Marcus Peters against the AFC West in 2017

Dollars to donuts Mahomes regularly threw missiles past his ass on a regular basis. Him dissing on Mahomes like that was a tell IMHO and more than just smack talk.

It's going to be hard for the improvement in the locker room, plus whatever player we get that won't be as good, to make up for all of this.

Seriously? Yes!

What type of formations and plays are you going to use to force the DEF to play press coverage while still trying to stretch the field and not become predictable in play calling?
