Rausch 03-22-2018 04:25 PM

Movie night.

The premise should be clear: we'll have a poll and then agree to watch the same film on the same day at the same time.

No, Simply-Red, you don't HAVE to.

This is for the people that want to.

First genre will be decided by Rainman poll (should he agree to the basic rules) and we'll move on from there.

CP FILM OF THE WEEK!

Does it become a thing?

Coochie liquor 03-22-2018 04:35 PM

Is it gonna be a porn?

Will there be any lap sitting or the “popcorn trick”?

Rausch 03-22-2018 04:40 PM

It might.

God I hope not...

stumppy 03-22-2018 05:13 PM

What kind of porn will Rainman pick? I sure hope it isn't some of that butt stuff kind.

"Pole coming"

stumppy 03-22-2018 05:15 PM

Let's get this straight right now.

I don't want none of you old saggy ball'd bastards taking your eyes off the screen and looking at me. Eyes forward EVERYONE!

Dunerdr 03-22-2018 06:08 PM

I believe there's an app that let's everyone tune in to the same movie

Hammock Parties 03-22-2018 06:12 PM

Can we take spank breaks?

Sounds reasonable.

Depending on the flick...:(

Zero Dark Thirty

Hamwallet 03-22-2018 06:27 PM

Threat Level Midnight

Simply Red 03-22-2018 06:29 PM

I'd like to make this perfectly clear - that this was an original Simply Red thought, initially.

Simply Red 03-22-2018 06:30 PM

But thanks for doing the thread, I've been busy in the Hardees thread!

Simply Red 03-22-2018 06:39 PM

I do like this - I'd fully participate.

1950’s would be a great period.

Ivanhoe, North By Northwest, On The Waterfront, Bridge Over The River Kwai, 12 Angry Men, Rebel Without A Cause, Ben-Hur - just too many to count.

It would also be cool to break it down by decade beginning in the 1950’s.

Dayze 03-22-2018 07:29 PM

The per decade thing would be a good idea.

I just watched one from 58 over the weekend with Gary cooper. Western called Man of The West (I think).

I'd do this - or westerns - everyone knows my genre O choice though. :)

Hammock Parties 03-22-2018 07:38 PM

Brokeback Mountain or Steel Magnolias?

Deberg_1990 03-22-2018 07:41 PM

I’d be down for some 70s cinema. Lots of great films I’ve never seen from that era

Also the best decade for cheesy sci fi movies.

The gore beats Saving Private Ryan, amazingly enough...

What is the logistics of this going be?
Watch simultaneously and be in the chat?
Or is it like a book report?

Duel is a good choice. Dennis Hopper right?
Written by Stephen King I believe

Dennis Weaver, not Hopper

And Richard Matheson wrote the screenplay. Stephen King was a fan, and wrote a similar story with a supernatural twist, that was made into Maxium Overdrive, but he had nothing to do with Duel.

Ahh thanks. I was reaching without using the Google

Simply Red 03-23-2018 11:39 AM

I'd prefer NOT to chose quality here, maybe something like Evil Dead - just my vote. If it's not horror though - I doubt I'll attend, but I DO hope you guys have fun!

Simply Red 03-23-2018 11:40 AM

I'd watch Duel though - I've never seen it. Let us know!

Did this ever happen?

I wouldn't mind some good movie selections. Having a 2-year-old, we have Baby (aka Storks), Vroom Vroom (aka Cars 3), and Roar! (aka either one of the Ice Age movies or How to Train Your Dragon) on a pretty consistent cycle.

I'm watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Super cheezed. Kirk just assumed command of the USS Enterprise. Someone was beaming up and something ****ed up and they are all weird looking. Loud screams and gone. Tragic.

Quentin Tarintino is supposed to do a rated R version of Star Trek. Should be good I expect a hot naked female alien chick

eDave 04-14-2018 04:13 AM

There's a bald, alien chick now. Apparently, this big giant vessel is in search of it's creator.

Spock is such a ****.

Bald chick is pretty hot though. Anyone else into Yule Brenner?

No pausing allowed - there will be a link in the new OP as we grow closer to Saturday the 14th.

Besides Apocalypse Now, what other movies have the greatest sound and movie theater experience??? :hmmm:

Star Wars?
A Concert film?
