You Were Never Really Here

This might be really good I have always been a fan of this strange actor Joaquin Phoenix. https://www.thedailybeast.com/you-we...ie-masterpiece

Oh yes with Phoenix, Vaughn and Garafalo. Been a while remember it as pretty funny movie.

Would never have guessed this came from the pen of Jonathan Ames.

I've been anticipating this one ever since the reviews have been released. Got stellar reviews & apparently its VERY brutally violent (right up my alley !)

If you guys see this - please read its synopsis prior - if not you'll spend the first 30 mins trying to uncover the agenda. It's much clearer if you know what's going on, at least somewhat.

Lynne Ramsay did her normal work here. Overall I really liked it. Sometimes I don't get her style, but it's beautifully done. Lots of things to digest with this one. But well worth the watch. I recommend it. Phoenix was brilliant.

I am a dumbass and thought this was releasing on Amazon. Got pumped, logged into Amazon and got denied. I am disappoint...in my self.

Mentioned this in the "New Movies" thread. Loved it! Hints of 'The Professional' but delves far deeper into the psyche of Phoenix' character 'Joe'. And you don't get it all explained and neatly laid out...instead you get fractured flashes you have to piece together all while he embarks on a gritty quest for revenge. This is some excellent ...EXCELLENT stuff.

So yeah, this was utterly fantastic ! Brutal from beginning to end. Really masterful direction too. I hope the director (Lynne Ramsay) and Phoenix collab on another film together.

Morvern Callar is a must see, if you haven't.
