Lost my first dog tonight

Just posting this on here because this is a shock as Starr, my husky, was only 6 years old. Just need some good vibes and some funny comments tonight to list my spirits. Going to watch some Patrick Mahomes highlights to help cheer me up. Thanks guys

Buck 05-11-2018 07:04 PM

Sorry for your loss

MTG#10 05-11-2018 07:05 PM

Your first dog? How old are you? Sorry for your loss.

IowaHawkeyeChief 05-11-2018 07:07 PM

Dogs are great! They love you unconditionally if you treat them nicely. It's super hard to lose a dog, but your life is usually better for having one, I am sorry for your loss.

SAUTO 05-11-2018 07:07 PM

Damn that sucks. Sorry

KCUnited 05-11-2018 07:07 PM

Sorry to hear it, man. RIP Starr

pugsnotdrugs19 05-11-2018 07:09 PM

Very sorry to hear about that. I know my pooch isn’t all that far away from this sad day in all likelihood. It hurts even more when it comes unexpectedly at a young age.

Stay strong

Pablo 05-11-2018 07:11 PM

Dogs are good people, sorry to hear that man.

TwistedChief 05-11-2018 07:14 PM

Losing your dog is the most awful thing in the world. But a close second is watching the Chiefs perpetually implode. Both are inevitable. The only question is exactly when and how it happens.

Sorry for your loss, buddy.

Nah. I'd rather sit and watch 100 heart crushing Chiefs embarrassments than lose my dog.

Sorry to hear about Starr.

EPodolak 05-11-2018 07:17 PM

Sad news, it's a tough day.

Hope you have some weekend downtime to process it.

Stepping back. I'd completely agree.

DaFace 05-11-2018 07:20 PM

Shouldn't have fed him pork that was a little pink in the middle. :shake:

But seriously, that sucks. Dogs are good people. Hope you can think back on the fun times and smile a bit. You know he wouldn't want you sitting around moping.

Chiefnj2 05-11-2018 07:20 PM

Sorry for your loss. It's rough. Start looking for your next dog to rescue.

chinaski 05-11-2018 07:20 PM

Condolences. No different than losing a family member. It's tough for sure. Lost one of my dogs and cats back to back in January. Tough times...

Simply Red 05-11-2018 07:33 PM

sorry to hear that pal.

New World Order 05-11-2018 07:38 PM

Sucks to lose a dog.

Sorry Jones.

Why Not? 05-11-2018 07:49 PM

If you need a good laugh, try to watch the "highlights" of Jason Hammel's start tonight.

Sorry for your loss. It's not going to be pretty around my house when either of my two dogs pass on.

vailpass 05-11-2018 07:54 PM

I’m very sorry man.

cabletech94 05-11-2018 08:01 PM

you know, dogs are actually better than people. i lost a dog 10 years ago. she was an animal shelter dog from a breeder. got past the age of breeding healthily. so i knew she was just a temporary dog. but man, she was part of my family.
when she died, i lost it. told myself no more dogs. and i only had her for a few years.

im sorry for your loss. just remember you gave pup jones a great life and you need to remember that bro. you are a good dude.

jdubya 05-11-2018 08:03 PM

Sorry man....that sucks no matter what. I`ve gone through a few dogs and it hurts bad :(

Bwana 05-11-2018 08:10 PM

Sorry to hear it dude, I have been through it many times and it sucks every time.

Kman34 05-11-2018 08:13 PM

So sorry for the loss of your friend... I’ve lost 3 this in my life and it never gets easier...
In time when you are ready get another pup.. nothing more fun than a puppy..

digger 05-11-2018 08:20 PM

Always hard to lose a pet, Sorry for your loss.

I had one when I was a kid but she was the first one I’ve bought and truly was my first dog.

Mother****erJones 05-11-2018 08:34 PM

Ya no kidding, I’d rather watch KC choke the Tennessee game 100/100 time than what happened this afternoon, especially since she was so young

RealSNR 05-11-2018 08:55 PM

Was your dog's name MotherhumperJones?

Hog's Gone Fishin 05-11-2018 08:56 PM

Yes, been through it many times . Just think how it would be to lose your pet on a Sunday as the Chiefs get beat by the Donkeys.

Fortunately that ain't about to happen in the near future . Like the next 15 years.

Sorry for your loss. I have had German Shepherds for years and my Wife has always had Dachshunds.

We have lost both from time to time. It literally tears me apart to lose an old friend. I'd rather have my ass kicked by a Raider's fan than go through that.

Keep your head up. It DOES get better with time.

All In 05-11-2018 09:36 PM

Sorry for your loss. People sometimes don't understand the total feeling of sadness when you lose your buddy.

Buehler445 05-11-2018 10:37 PM

:(

My dogs name is Chief. He goes to work with me every day. When the time comes I’ll probably cry like a girl.

DaNewGuy 05-11-2018 10:39 PM

Partially why I don't wanna own an animal, just getting attached and then when the day comes I don't think I wanna deal with that :(. Anyways rip to your pooch

threebag 05-11-2018 10:55 PM

Sorry to hear about your four-legged friend. Good thing your young enough to have a few more. We have a Yellow Lab (HUGE Blockhead) her name is KC

RIP Starr

tooge 05-11-2018 11:33 PM

Man, sorry to hear. Dogs are the best people I always say. Wait a few weeks and get another pup. They need us too

tooge 05-11-2018 11:35 PM

Thing about pups is, unless you are super old you will outlive them. It’s sad, but give them all the love you can while they are here. If you did that, you did right

This! I had German shepards growing up, They were both gone before I was 16. I loved them more than my family, will never get a dog again. It is just setting you up for heartbreak. It really sucks!

And I did right man. She was only 6, but that was the best 6 years of my life and hers. She was treated really well. Just didn’t imagine it being so soon.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your best friend. Don't be afraid to dive right back in as you will see your departed pooch in a new puppy.

I have lost 2 in the past and strongly suggest you not to wait to get a new one.

tmax63 05-12-2018 07:21 AM

Sorry to hear about your friend. If you believe in such things he'll be there at the rainbow bridge when your time comes to join back up with you. You'll never find a purer love than from a dog.

DanT 05-12-2018 08:17 AM

Condolences on the loss of Starr. Huskies are special.

Thanks man. I sure hope she will be

gblowfish 05-12-2018 09:49 AM

I'm not a dog guy, I'm a cat guy. I've lost several over the past 20 years, and it hurts your heart each and every time. But you have to offset that by knowing that you gave your pet a wonderful life full of fun and full of love. And they gave back as much as they could. Let the sting heal, then go to a shelter, pick out a winner and give another pup a wonderful life.

Shag 05-12-2018 10:05 AM

Sorry to hear about your pup, MJ - really difficult thing to go through. Sounds like you gave her a great life, which is all you can do - she was lucky to have you.

To each their own, but you're really robbing yourself here, IMHO. Yeah, losing a pet is extremely difficult, but you have years of fun and love with that pet that you gain. Both you and your pet's lives are better for it.

Chief Roundup 05-12-2018 10:55 AM

Sorry for your loss. RIP

ClevelandBronco 05-12-2018 11:53 AM

Y’know, you never get these threads from fish people.

It’s rough dealing with the loss of something you care about deeply—like a dog, or a string trimmer or sometimes even a wife. Best to have two of everything.

Mother****erJones 05-22-2018 01:53 PM

Went and picked up an 8 week old white husky puppy. This’ll help the healing process. She’s a doll

Its never a replace thing for me. Just starting a new chapter. Giving a new dog some loving, steady home and food. Always go rescue myself.

Good luck with the new puppy. Wheres the pics?

That’s exactly what I told myself. Brand new chapter. Each dog will be like a new chapter in a book.

I’ll post some pics in a little bit

Forgive me I’m shitty at uploading pics on my phone

Thanks man. She is. I spoiled Starr and never once took her for granted. I knew this day was coming just not so soon.

tooge 05-22-2018 02:13 PM

The way dogs look at you when they pass, and the way they look at you as pups, I always wondered if they are somehow reincarnated. I actually looked at my dog once and said something to the likes of "Kegan, is that you" (Kegan was the dog I had previous). And she stared at me. Like really deeply. Anyhow, I'm sure it's rubbish, but I've always treated them like they are my last dog reincarnated. Helps with the healing and makes you treat them real well.

raybec 4 05-22-2018 02:15 PM

When you called for her did you yell "WORLD STARR!!!!!"?

Gravedigger 05-22-2018 02:22 PM

We've all been there as pet owners, it's always rough. My cat Midnight, who was the first cat I adopted on my own, died recently due to kidney failure. We tried to fight it for six months but he just eventually stopped eating and it was either more blood tests and more weight loss or end it. He was such a good cat too, always talked to you, always sat by your side, could've lived for another 10 years easy as he was only 8 and all my cats usually lasted towards 20. It's rough, my condolences on the loss. If you have place in your home and in your heart, there is no reason not to adopt another animal. Just do it when it feels right.

Well Zsa Zsa sleeps in the spot at times where Starr passed, and carries her chain out in the yard that I had Starr hooked up to when she wanted to lay out. So it’s crazy sometimes but they have a sense about things.

Thanks man! Hope you’re doing alright. I know it’s rough but the pain is worth it with the joy they bring us
