Martinez is a spaz in the box. No idea how he can hit a baseball like that.

We have looked like ass most of the year except for our starting pitching. Which has been phenomenal. |
There’s the Ian AIDS Kennedy we’ve come to know and hate
|
There's the Kennedy that we're used to seeing.
|
THAT was ugly.
|
Even though Kennedy is ass, he's not getting any help from the defense.
|
Lighten up fellas. Kennedy would be a perennial CY Young candidate if it wasn't for that meanie, Rob Manfred.
|
Two outs and then bada bing, bada boom

Kennedy is hot garbage lately, as are the other veteran starters. Its pathetic, that between Duffy, Kennedy & Hammel, not one of them can give you a chance to win when they take the mound. I mean, i guess i should be glad that Junis & Skoklund are our two best starters right now, since they are the future. But still, you’d think one of the other 3 could actually give you a quality start each time the rotation.
They should just forfeit the first two games to the Cards and then Junis will get his shot in game 3, since he actually gives the team a chance to win when he pitches. |

He’s only hit 3 home runs in 3 games. The guy is built like a bodybuilder. Really different for a baseball player. And he’s Canadian. |
The pitchers are useless and offense is just as useless.

7, 2, 12, 6, 5, 5 so far tonight. It's been an average NL offense this year, but with Carpenter getting straightened out and them getting some production from an outfielder other than Pham, the offense is showing that it can put up a lot of runs. Keep in mind that they've done all of this without DeJong or Molina. |
Kennedy has only given up 5 runs in 5 innings = Improvement...

GTFO with that BS. |

If you can move Herrera and Moustakas for some starting arms, you can start to build a foundation again. |

I fully understand its a long season and frankly Memorial day on is where things start to heat up but the strikeouts have been an issue for years and if they dont hit HR the scoring goes away. The common denominator in your stats you listed is HR. And we both know they come in streaks and when they arent there the runs go away. |

You don't know what "suck ass" baseball is if you haven't watched the Royals this year. Typical Cards fan bullshit. Take that to the Cards thread, it don't play here. |

Alex Gordon and Alcides Escobar were the worst 2 regular starters in all of baseball last YEAR. You guys have NO idea what it is like to suck. Your team, even with a complete dumb **** as a manager, is competing for a playoff spot every single year. You guys dont have a clue. So please quit trying to sell your sob story to Royals fans . . . . . |

He has hit .500 for about 7 days now and his average has jumped .50 points to get him to .200. And come on man we are all Chiefs fans, we know what it means to suck. :D |
Well, that wasn't much fun to watch for us Royals fans. Yeah, I knew they would be not very good however I wasn't quite ready for this level of bad. For a Cardinals fan to compare relative team suckitude is rather funny; how many World Series have the Cardinals been to? I know the Royals have been to 4 and went 28 years without sniffing the playoffs.
|
I love how this thread became pretty nasty on the topic of "do both team suck?" and "we suck worse!" Gotta love this rivalry or non-rivalry, depending on who you ask.
|
To go from the most annoying fan base in baseball (NYY) to the 2nd most annoying fan base in baseball (Tard Nation) in just a couple of days is exhausting.

How many games will the ROYALS lose this season? I'm guessing over a hundred. 49 wins - 113 losses

I don't know that the Royals really have a rivalry with anyone? At one time, back in the 70's and 80's, it was the Yankees. Now? meh. Maybe the White Sox if you HAD to pick someone, but not really. I couldn't even tell you half the players on their roster and they're in our division. Oh, and for the record, we suck worse. |
Quote:
I say this from the response my trolling of Denkinger would get on Cards forums in the days of yore. The Royals would be in the midst of a 90 loss season and 85 still riled up some emotion. I will say had we met in the World Series in 2014, I think that would have cemented our franchises in a legit rivalry - that would have been a fun one, too (BTW **** Madison Bumgarner lik dis if u cry evrytiem). |

Tonight Ned ought to go out and squeeze a deuce on home plate during the lineup exchange and just get it over with.
|
He might as well since Hammel is starting.

But I don't think there's a franchise in baseball HISTORY that can hang with the Royals over that 15 year span starting around 1999. Worse still, while we don't know exactly what the future holds, but we can all pretty safely state that the next 3 years are going to provide a lot of shitty baseball in KC. Their high minors are just barren. So from about 1997 through 2021 they're going to have a 25 year stretch where they'll average 90 losses in all likelihood. Or get damn close. Worse still, they'll have a 5 year period in there of damn good ball. Which means that for the other 20 years they'll probably average near 95 losses. Don't try to get in a suck-contest with the Royals. Nobody sucks like they sucked. Even when the Cardinals are 'bad' their problem isn't that they're bad, it's that they're boring and mediocre. The last 2 years have been case studies in winning half your games while not being even the slightest bit entertaining to watch. That's not bad - that's bland. I'd say the 2012 and 2016 Royals were worse than the 16 and 17 Cardinals but played a far more entertaining brand of baseball. The Cardinals haven't sucked; they've just been pretty forgettable of late. That's still more than enough to beat bad teams. Over the course of their 6 games, the Cardinals should be pissed if they don't win 4 and frankly they should be a little disappointed if they don't win 5. Wednesday should be the only game where they give the Royals even the slightest inkling of life and even then they should come out on top. That's a bad baseball team. |

You know since the Royals became a franchise in 1969 it's 3 World Series titles for the Cardinals and 2 for the Royals.
