Marcus Peters already making an impression in LA

Quote:

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Cornerback Marcus Peters is new to the Los Angeles Rams but has quickly developed an opinion on defensive tackle Aaron Donald's contract situation.

"Pay the man," Peters said Monday after the Rams' first organized team activities workout.

...

Buehler445 05-21-2018 11:23 PM

Yeesh. That will be interesting to watch as his contract comes due.

ChiefAshhole1056 05-21-2018 11:30 PM

The Rams better not have a slow start, or Peters and that LA media are going to have some battles. KC was likely the best setting for him to thrive in the NFL media/exposure-wise, and he ran himself off the team.

He’s either going to turn into a complete villain or the modern day Deion Sanders. Every week he’ll be grilled about how he feels he compares to the opposing WR1 and Peters will say something that the media can run with and create something with.

The Rams-Chiefs game in MXC is going to be fantastic.

bigbucks24 05-21-2018 11:36 PM

This is terrible! I bet he's the first pro athlete that supported paying another player. What will the Rams ever do with him? Think they just cut him? What a cancer. Bet the other players in the locker room hate him for that take. Good thing the Chiefs got rid of him!

I believe the problem lies in the fact that the guy has not played a down in LA yet and he's already telling the world that his team needs to pay somebody...like he has credibility or something in such matters.

I don't think it's a problem per se, just more Marcus "look at me" stuff...

No way he's responsible for his own behavior. In college it was the coaches. In the pros it was the fans, coaches, and his mom.
When he acts the fool in LA what will you say?

There isn’t a player in the NFL with more leverage than Donald. If the Rams don’t want to pay him there are about 30 other teams that would

Of course not. But players comments put pressure on the organization via the media and fans.

There's a kernel of truth here about how people view athletes versus how they view billionaire owners (why the hell would anyone side with a billionaire? Or management in general? Jealousy.) but then you had to go and say Marcus Peters is going to get enshrined and just lmao you lost me, son.

saphojunkie 05-22-2018 12:48 PM

LA fans don't care about Peters at all. They're my adopted team out here, and I promise the focus is 100% on Goff continuing to improve.

The rest is just gltz, but everyone is lasered in on Goff and McVay and whether last year was a fluke or a sign of genuine improvement. There's no over/under quite as volatile as the Rams.

In 3 seasons he has a defensive rookie of the year award to go with 2 pro bowls and a first and second team all pro selection. There are plenty of CB’s in the HOF that didn’t touch any of those there first 3 years in the league. If you don’t think he’s building a strong resume for Canton than you’re deliriously in denial.

Yeah, he can join Dale Carter in the HOF

Oh wait...

Fuller+Peters would be nice, but I prefer Fuller to Peters. KC dumped him for a reason, we already knew the guy had a track record. I'm glad to see toughness return to the Chiefs Defense.

Toughness Demanded

Chiefnj2 05-22-2018 01:09 PM

What a horrible guy. Look at the selfishness of wanting the D to develop chemistry.

"We've got to make it jell at the end of the day," Peters said. "You can say that we've got all these big names and that you've got this person and that person, but if we don't make it jell, then it ain't going to do nothing for us. So we've got to come in and learn each other. It's going to be a learning process for us throughout OTAs, going into minicamp and then going into training camp."

FYP

LA's defense is looking impressive, at least on paper. I suspect that by the end of the season, LA fans will care quite a bit about Peters. Both the good, interceptions, and the bad, tackling the ball carrier is optional.

Peters is a good fit with the Rams considering that he won't really need socks during the football season in California.
