Chargers TE Hunter Henry tears ACL at OTAs

Bummer. Seems to always happen to the Chargers. Hate when guys get hurt, especially this early.

displacedinMN 05-22-2018 07:44 PM

When I read this-first thing I thought of was "The luck of the Chargers"

Skyy God 05-22-2018 07:46 PM

Wonder if they give Gates a look?

-King- 05-22-2018 07:48 PM

As much as I love when the offseason starts, it makes me more anxious than the regular season in terms of injury.

Every. Single. Year.

The Chargers are just cursed. I kinda feel bad for them.

Chief Northman 05-22-2018 07:55 PM

Shitty. Henry is an ascending young player.

Maybe we can trade Dumbasstrious Harris to them for a wet sock?

KChiefs1 05-22-2018 07:56 PM

The Chargers are cursed.

Injuries are a part of the game. That said...I totally agree with you.

smithandrew051 05-22-2018 07:58 PM

It’s happening...

jjchieffan 05-22-2018 08:01 PM

This is why the Chargers shouldn't be considered a contender. They continue to pile up injuries to key players year after year after year. I think that they're jumping the gun a bit though. At least wait until training camp to start with the injuries. I mean are they going for the record or do they already own the record for the most players on IR in a single season?

Why Not? 05-22-2018 08:04 PM

This. The day I fear the Chargers is the day they show up to week 1 of any season without missing a major player

DaFace 05-22-2018 08:05 PM

Do the Chargers' trainers suck ass or something? I know ACL's and the like are kind of fluky, but it's amazing how many injuries they have.

OKchiefs 05-22-2018 08:07 PM

Shit like this terrifies me.

CoMoChief 05-22-2018 08:09 PM

Chargers are cursed....theyre a team that never has it all together, no other team has been decimated by inj more than that team in the last few seasons.

Red Dawg 05-22-2018 08:13 PM

That's a big loss. Hunter can straight up ball out.

Rain Man 05-22-2018 08:15 PM

Are they still expected to win the division now?

I really think the Chargers aren't doing something right in the draft. They fill their team with injury-prone players and then get shocked when the guys get injured.

wheeler08 05-22-2018 08:20 PM

So they are down to their 3rd string TE technically?

OKchiefs 05-22-2018 08:31 PM

We have our own shitty history with injuries, I wouldn't feel too bad or confident that this won't happen to us.

Buckweath 05-22-2018 08:41 PM

Injuries are part of the game. The Chiefs' turn will come sooner or later where we lose at least one major player and additional players. Just a different year. Injuries are part of the game. You can't use them as an excuse.

RealSNR 05-22-2018 11:02 PM

Good player but a huge ****ing disappointment in terms of fantasy football.

**** that guy.

ToxSocks 05-22-2018 11:17 PM

Big loss. Feel kinda bad for the guy.

Injuries are part of the game, defintitely. However, the Chargers have been absolutely decimated by injuries the last couple of years...and both years it started very early.

MMXcalibur 05-23-2018 02:34 AM

When Phillip Rivers finds out about this, he's going to be pissssssed.
Right now he's too busy being balls deep in his wife to notice.

ChiliConCarnage 05-23-2018 03:37 AM

Too bad. Was sort of excited to see what he could do with old man Gates finally out of the way

The Chiefs have had plenty of injuries to starters.

Berry--Cancer and then Achilles.
DJ--2x Achilles
Conley--Achilles
Dee Ford--He's made of glass
Houston
Ware
Santos
Nelson
Hali
Ehinger
Charles

Bewbies 05-23-2018 04:44 AM

Maybe injuries are God’s way of evening the playing field - like you get to live in perfect weather so you only get 2/3 of a team?

Eleazar 05-23-2018 05:22 AM

Maybe they have to practice on a torn-up soccer field

And still won back to back Division titles.

scho63 05-23-2018 09:19 AM

Are the chargers really cursed or do they do something every year in OTA's to put too much pressure on their team to begin?

Why always just them it seems?

A statistical improbability.

Just like the Chiefs and the Achilles injuries.

:hmmm:

Rain Man 05-23-2018 09:28 AM

It's kind of a tradition. I don't really think that football season is starting until I hear about the first Chargers season-ending injury.

Fish 05-23-2018 09:30 AM

Are they doing their OTAs on roller skates or something?

Yeah, and that list you just made of our starter injuries over the last few years, might cover training camp and the beginning of their season a couple of years ago.

Simply Red 05-23-2018 10:59 AM

that sucks.

huh?

The Chief's turn comes every year. As it is with most teams.

You can't argue that Hunter Henry is a bigger loss for the Chargers than Eric Berry was for the Chiefs.

Meh. They were a healthy team last season by NFL standards. Healthier than the Chiefs were iirc.

Kiimo 05-23-2018 11:10 AM

Eagerly anticipating Keenan Allen joining him in the training room soon.
