Was that when Jake Plummer went back to the sidelines, sat on the bench, the crowd was booing him, and he flipped them off?

Not really about sportsmanship but about someone who stepped in and saved me from really getting injured or worse.

Years ago I had a chance to go horse back riding. I didn't have any experience but I figured what the hell. Reins, a saddle and stirrups, how hard could it be. Looks like fun.
Anyways, before I knew it I was in the saddle and ready to go. Let's just say 'Bad idea'!
The horse took off at his full speed right away. I was hanging on for dear life and shit got worse. The saddle must have been loose because it started slipping and sliding down the side of the horse. I could hear people yelling at me to let go but I was frozen, in full blown panic mode. The horse was running at full speed, my head not to far from the ground, the saddle kept slipping and I was scared to do anything. Thank god for the K-mart manager, he came out and unplugged the horse.

You're referring to the when Ben Christensen beaned Anthony Molina, who was only 24 feet from home plate as he was warming up, while the on deck circle would typically be about 37 feet from home plate, although batters usually are just in the vicinity of it (https://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/05/s.../05ondeck.html) .

The Anthony Molina Incident
Molina was due to lead off an inning for the University of Evansville. As Christensen warmed up on the mound, Molina took practice swings 24 feet from home plate. Wichita State's coach, Gene Stephenson, taught his pitchers to "brush back" on-deck hitters standing too close. Christensen threw a pitch at Molina's head, the unsuspecting victim looked up just as the ball collided with his face. Molina was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. The hitter's vision fell from 20/10 to 20/400. Christensen was suspended for the remainder of the season.

In 2014, Molina was sentenced to a 6-year term in prison on the basis of an Alford plea (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alford_plea) to 2 felony counts of sexually assaulting a 8 year-old girl.

since the op didn't state 'sports' as a pre-requisite, i had an encounter today, that i am proud of...

at work, we are doing major remodeling, and at the same time are short handed. the office furniture needed moving on friday, but there was no time. my boy and i volunteered to do a couple hours today (saturday) for cash in hand. the rate was 25/hour. after 2 1/2 hours work, we got paid and left.

it wasn't until about three hours later i actually counted the cash given (i wasn't going to be rude and count it back to my manager).

it was actually twice the rate of 50/hour. didn't set right with me.

so i just texted him about 20 minutes ago thanking him for such a rate, but told him if it was a mistake, i understood.

indeed, it was a mistake on his part. he is on some pain meds from a slip at work, and didn't realize what he did. i told him no worries, ill bring the excess cash to work on monday.

i joke about things, am sarcastic about things, but in the end, i want to sleep knowing i did the right thing.

and i know one day, when things may get tough for me, he will be in my corner if need be. :thumb:

**** YOU AND **** KARMA!!!!!!!!

after all that, our family takes a two hour trip to the parklea markets......yyyyuuuuge indoor market... something like 300 stalls of knockoff products and produce, but after three hours of shopping all hell breaks loose...

the only good thing was it was a two car caravan.

my car wouldn't ****ing start, and it was two hours from home. i don't have that kind of money.

our oldest boy bless his heart... taxis enough of the kids to the train station (which unbeknownst to us adults, the train tracks were under construction, so they had to get on a bus with a suicidal driver for an hour, to meet up with the train in penrith.) and came back to us.

we are home now, but i now have to coordinate, over a three hour span, being able to be at my car soon enough that the mechanic wont be long, but not soon enough as to be there and end up waiting for five hours.

i feel like sending my car keys to him via post, fixing it, billing us, and THEN go down to get it, but being its in a private parking structure, it would be MY LUCK, i would get billed for it being parked too long....

ROFL ROFL ROFL

it can only happen to me

sorry for the discombobulation of a post, but its jimply been one of those days :thumb:
