decent hotel near arrowhead

hey folks,

I'm going to be in town for the Chiefs 1st pre-season game, flying out the following morning. The place that I'm staying for work is way too expensive for me to pick up a night on my own dime. Anyone have any recommendations of a decent place to stay that is under a $100 bucks and convenient to the stadium?

don't need fancy. Just reasonably clean, cheap and easy access to arrowhead.

Thanks in advance.

Cozy Inn is very pretty!

Generally anything really close to Arrowhead is going to set you back more than $100. I can't remember what I paid several years ago at the Adams Mark, it seems like it was in the $200 range and that place was a dump. After that, I stayed a bit further away and got a decent room at a reasonable price.

There's a bunch of cheap hotels just east of Arrowhead, at I-70 and Noland Rd. I've had friends come for games and stay in one of those. Can't remember exactly which. But I remember there were like 6 hotels right around that location. 5 minutes from the stadium.

Simply Red 07-03-2018 04:35 PM

I like you temper - don't be offended - but there's not going to be many clean ones for under $100 - it's sad but true, at least in my findings.

Titty Meat 07-03-2018 04:35 PM

Spend the extra dough and stay downtown where there's fun things to do. Anything around the stadium is white trash.

There was a terrible place near Tool Shed Lounge I remember, growing up - certainly It's not that place. :)

Why not stay by the airport?

There's a Comfort Inn that is clean, has a gym, has a pool, has a sauna and is 65/night. I stay there every time I'm in the city because it takes less than five minutes to get there from the airport.

Belton Inn has a nice blend of affordability, amenities, things near by (Domino's pizza!!!) and quick access to the freeway and short trip to the stadiums. Talk about convenience.

Drury

I'd rather bunk in a crack den than go to Belton

Thanks Red, and I'm not offended. Just trying to do this on the cheap. Trying to cram a bit of fun in on a business trip but didn't want to spend a ton of money. And it's really just a place to crash for a few hours after the game. I figure I'll get out of arrowhead around 10ish? and be on the first flight out of town the next morning. So didn't want to spend much money on a place that I only be spending a few hours at.

I appreciate the response though!

Motel Capri near downtown

This sounds promising. I'll look into it! Thanks.

Which is pathetic - the Adams Mark should definitely be nicer!

Don't go to the Dolphin Rape Cave Inn. Their continental breakfast is awful!

dj56dt58 07-03-2018 05:11 PM

I can usually get four points by Sheraton for under 100 using Priceline and we like it they are friendly and have a nice restaurant. Adams mark sucks

Try Priceline express deals you can usually figure out what the hotel is before booking and can get great deals

Simply Red 07-03-2018 05:12 PM

Green Crest Motel was the one I was trying to think of.

Worn down and stale, old smoky air is what I remember. If you're in town to see the Chiefs it's tough to beat the commute to Arrowhead however.

temper11 07-03-2018 06:25 PM

update... I ended up grabbing a room at the Sleep Inn next to the airport for 50 bucks. Not close to arrowhead as I'd originally planned, but the next best thing since I'll have an easy time to my flight the next day. Hopefully it's not too bad, but I'm not that picky and I don't have my wife or kids with me - so I'll be alright. Thanks all for your help and input. Looking forward to checking Arrowhead out!

This evey time

O.city 07-03-2018 06:35 PM

We always stay downtown. Usually can get something decently priced at crown center

gblowfish 07-03-2018 06:39 PM

The hotels right next to Arrowhead are not very good. There's a Drury Inn, Adam's Mark and they're both pretty worn out. The comment about staying in Independence near Noland Road is true. There's a Best Western, Super 8, Red Roof, couple of others, and if you want to go out just a bit farther by Independence Center there's a nice Sheraton, a newer Drury Inn and a new Lodge Place right next to Bass Pro. That's only about 15 minutes away from Arrowhead. If you're going to stay at the airport, you'll have to rent a car. Buy a parking pass for the game ahead of time at the NFL Exchange site. BTW: My pre season tickets are up for sale at face value if anybody is interested in going to either Pre-season game. Just PM me.

Yeah and worn out carpet that looks like it was repoed from a whore house, along with the rooms being dirty.

Is this at 7611 NW 97th Terrance address? If so, it’s passable. Neighborhood is very nice and safe, compared to the hotels near Arrowhead.

I bet you're not sitting in the Club Level

Nice. Sounds like airport was the right decision.

Your best bet will be to stay away from the stadium and Uber in. Anything that’s near there sucks. There’s a Sleep Inn in Liberty that should be around $100 per night and maybe $40 Uber in and out. Check it out.

It was shit 30 years ago, when I stayed there. For the location, you would think they would put some money into it. Seeing it is or at least the only hotel within miles of Arrowhead, they figure they don't need to.

Overkill for sure, but do NOT stay at the Adam's Mark. That place used to be awesome...visiting baseball teams used to stay there. We got a good price there last year and stayed there, but it was godawful. And I'm not really a hotel snob.

Air Conditioner leaked out on the floor, walls are paper thin, TV didn't work, arcade took all the kids' money, etc.

TribalElder 07-04-2018 10:53 AM

Adams Mark has bedbugs with MRSA level AIDS

Takes for ****ing ever to check in too. Last time I stayed there they couldn’t even find our reservation

Staying at the WESTIN at CROWN CENTER is always my first choice. Great location. I never rent a car when I get into KC. Take a lyft or a uber to get around. GO CHIEFS!!

Now that you mention it, there is a bridge near there. Still a better option than the Adams Mark! :D
