-- Show me your flashlight
I just got this - waiting on the AAAA batteries and will do a full review.
Campers, Outdoors folks, people who are prepared for emergency outages, etc... ?? If you explore your lady friend's vagina or what not, I'd like to hear what you're doing for lighting. I want you to show me your flashlight or the similar. Thank you in advance. |
This is what I use:
https://outbackflashlights.com/shop/...hts/big-stick/ Super bright. I can easily scout my property from inside my house. Hell, I can light up my house with it. Plus its heavy enough that if I have to hit someone on the head, it will definitely hurt. I like it better than maglight |
I have a fleshlight

Sharing flashlights is for people who don't have guns.

I will look it up - do you have the quick price estimate. |
Quote:
It's about $50 consistently. Uses an 18650 battery and you'll need a charger for that. |

There is still a market for flashlights? Every phone has one.
|
oh yeah - they have a bunch now - some really cool upper end selections out there for various tasks/camping etc...

1) those lights are shitty 2) it's dumb to rely on your phone battery for light 3) flashlights are more durable than cell phones 4) some jobs don't allow you to have your cell on you at all times |

I and many coworkers were given free Redline flashlights at work. They all fell apart or stopped working within 90 days. The stupid red plastic ring at the lens end breaks very easily. |
strobe lights are cool

My flashlight will strobe at 1100 lumens for a few hours as a safety feature. |

Hey Red, if you really want to dive into the what's what with flashlights, this is a good place to start.
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forum.php Some of these guys are hardcore and build some wild stuff. |
A decent cheap flashlight is the Coast G45 at 385 lumens that takes three AAA batteries. It has a nice bull's eye pattern with a dimmer halo and good throw. You can usually find it for about $20 at various hardware or home improvement stores.

We also have chickens and I've heard them squawking sometimes and I use the flashlight to see if there's a fox or a marmot or a fisher. Or an eagle. We had an eagle after our chickens a couple weeks ago. |
I bought one similar to this, an HID torch light a couple of years ago and the thing is not only a war club, it throws light like nothing I have ever seen. Probably at least 6 times the light of a vehicle on high beam. Great for the mountains at night.

This was a few years ago. 2012-2013 I think. Maybe they have the quality control figured out now. But it was enough for me to not consider them ever again. |

Does that take 2 of the 18650's? |

Where I work buys these by the case they seem to hold up to drops and such pretty bright and inexpensive.

Huh. Nice. If they could get the working CDR Amps up over 30 or so without dropping the mAh under 6K or so then it'd be an interesting choice for vaping. |

I wanted to bounce this off of the forum - as I'd like to get one more aside from the one I'd linked in the OP - that one is for viewing paint surface on cars. I still need a higher powered one that's a little bigger beamed. I appreciate all of the feedback and ideas!

yeah they get pretty crazy these days - they can practically make a valley look like daytime - I think those types are north of $300.00

Find an haunted abandoned mine to test in. It’s the only way to tell if a flashlight is any good.
|
This is the one that gets the most use as I'm freaking always doing shit with my hands.
Link https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1500_.jpg For heavier duty shit, I bought these because they were cheap as **** and take AAA batteries. https://www.amazon.com/Flashlight-Ha...=AD8KB6G20MIR8 https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1500_.jpg Also use this in the field if the situation calls for it. https://www.amazon.com/6306-Flashlig...ig+larry&psc=1 https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1000_.jpg |

A little off topic, but the motion sensor LED solar lights have really come along way over the past couple of years. I have a bunch around my place. In the alley I have some set up just screwed into a wooden fence every 10 feet or so and it lights it up like day. I was amazed how much light those things kick out. I had to go talk to my neighbors and make sure they were ok with that much light and it wasn't keeping them awake at night. Thankfully they were thrilled about them because it protects their yard as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

I have a lot of flashlights but I have a version, same thing, of the "Big Larry" called "Big Red.'
Holy crap, it is amazing and will light up a large area bright white. Used it in the attic installing gable fan, used it working under the house in the crawl space, all the light I need. I think it was under $10 |
