What to eat at the old ballgame?
So we have a lot of food threads, but do we have one about what is your favorite food to eat at the old ball game.
And before it’s commented, pussy doesn’t count. |
helmet nachos

Brats are my go-to food for my once-per-decade visit to a baseball game. I'll wash it down with a Pibb or Dr. Pepper if available.
|
What form of ballgame?
Edit: NM now I see it's a Royals thread. |
I'd like to try a Dodger Dog - they look so good on Pinterest.

Buck night is pretty lit.

last time we went it seemed like I ate $100 bills that looked like snow cones and a lemonade for the family.
That said, anybody got 3 decent tickets for royals cubs tonight? |

Dog and a beer.

Went to the Dbacks game yesterday. Had 2 dogs and some chicken tenders with fries. Then peanuts. But only drank water so it still counts as healthy.

You seem nice though.. |
Chili Cheese Fries - add all of the jalapenos in the condiment card thing. Assuming heathens haven't made it unsanitary already

I rarely eat anything at the seat, just too messy and a real pain in the ass. I'll have some beers. can't drink too much as they bloat me while sitting for so long.
The few times I went to PNC Park in Pittsburgh I had lemon Italian Ice as it was always hot. I had Pierogi's before the game prior to sitting down. At AT&T Ballpark in San Fran I would do the hand-carved turkey or prime rib sandwich, cherry tomato and mozzarella skewer, Gordon Biersch garlic fries and Anchor Steam beers. They had great food and I sat in the club level. At Camden Yards they had great BBQ from Boog Powell's and brats were really good. They had some combo club tickets that gave you a beer, a BBQ sandwich and Club Level bar discount At Nationals Park in DC I had just hot dogs and once a burger from Five Guys. I ate those at the picnic tables or standing with the food on top of garbage can. Their stadium is a pain to eat at. I like any stadium with standing tables to eat where you buy the food. So much easier than lugging all the shit back to your seat. |

Buck night.

Coors Field has a stand for Famous Dave's. I know KC people like to turn their noses up at the place, but their rib tips make for a pretty fantastic ballpark meal.

Go to a nice restaurant before you go. The food will actually be good and you'll probably save money in the process.
|
TGI Fridays... it's pretty great to have a restaurant in left field that has its own section of seats.

A: They're both pretty hard to beat!! Although, I will admit that I have never been to a professional baseball game, I'm speaking of Arrowhead  |
Brat or Polish with kraut and mustard. Wash down with a beer. Once in a while chili cheese fries. I'm not into all the specialty food stands.
|
Chili cheese fries or a hot dog in Kansas City either stadium.
Tater tot nachos in St. Louis at Busch Stadium. |
Boiled peanuts.

I usually go with beer and those cheap nachos with the neon plastic cheese.
My buddy got some mahi mahi tacos at Busch a few years ago, pretty good for ballpark fare. |

Shea Stadium- NY Mets Yankee Stadium Fenway Park - BoSox PNC Park - Pittsburgh AT&T Park - San Francisco Rodgers Stadium - Toronto Blue Jays (didn't care for but roof was open) Camden Yards- Orioles Nationals Park in DC D'backs Stadium- didn't like not a fan of enclosed baseball stadiums. |
How do any of you eat nachos or cheese fries or anything messy like that at your seat? :hmmm:
Too much effort and too much risk to spill have the shit all over yourself. |
It pains me to say it, but the White Sox park has the best food/beer selection of any stadium I've been to. The crowd looks like a baseball game broke out inside a Walmart, but the food selection is like a parade of food trucks. My go-to is their Irish nachos sans Sox helmet and a beer from their Craft Beer Cave. At Kauffman, it's a brat and a Boulevard.

Haven't been to a Cards game in a while, but for the longest the two best things there were a loaded nachos [nothing fancy, but sizeable and tasty, . . . . neon cheese, refried beans, sour cream, ground beef and jalapenos], and parmesan chicken strips with honey mustard.
|
I don't normally eat at a ballgame but the few times I have I've carried in a Subway.

The only things I'll eat at Kauffman Stadium are the soft pretzels and an occasional Sheboygan Brat. Now, if you happen to get a crown seat, definitely go have the pre-game buffet. Millionaires eat the good stuff.

They were wanting $187 million for renovating a 20 year old stadium... I think cities are slowly waking up to the fact that public money is better spent elsewhere. Unless you meant eating the middle of a nacho plate with a fork is asinine... |
