Nightmare
 

I can’t remember the last time I’ve woken up from sleep because of a nightmare. I’m currently 30 hours deep into a fast (no food or liquids) because I’ve got a body fat tape test at 7am, and I’m nervous about it. Can only hope it’s because of that.

I was at a house party and everyone was standing around talking in little groups for a while. The host and his buddy were sitting on the couch playing PlayStation. One guy in a white t-shirt and white ball cap was walking around introducing himself as Steve. Nobody knew who he was.

Cut to me falling on the floor as I hear someone scream “there’s a school shooter! Get out!” and an inordinate amount of people sprint out of the house in all directions. I’m just in shock thinking that this is the end. I hear the host and his buddy start mockingly saying “it’s Steve, it’s Steve,” and I assume that they started the rumor, because I don’t hear any gunshots or any more screaming now that everyone is gone. I start to laugh and stand up.

The door five feet to my front-left is thrown open and in steps a guy wearing the same white t-shirt and ball cap, and I see he has a pistol. I’m speechless and again frozen in fear, with chills going over my body. The host and his buddy start yelling and running away, and I feel myself wake up.

These chills are still rolling over me as I type this. I’ve never had such a vivid nightmare before. The details didn’t seem to change completely inexplicably; the house layout (one I’m sure I’ve never been in) and Steve’s outfit stayed the same throughout the dream.

If this turns out to be some sort of premonition, I’m going to have a cow.

I had a very vivid nightmare after I'd watched Hereditary - coming from someone who watches horror movies multiple times a week. I won't ever watch that film again, I'd done some research on the movie and come to find out they'd used evil binaural beats as well as the names of the demons were real historic demon names.

like you - I was hoping this was not the new 'norm' - as it was so realistic, happened so seemingly easily. I can relate my wigger.

I have a nightmare ever 5 years or so, it is recurring. I dream I am falling and then I always land on my knees. the rest of the nightmare goes like this...

at the very least drink water. Too big of change all at once. Your brain revolted.

I had one last night too. I never have them. I work in security and my dream involved me being shot in the face and shoulder, but I was weatching it from outside myself, like i was watchingt he security monitors. my head was going through what my body was feeling but disconnected. Really vivid and strange.

I wish I could offer reassurance, but I’m pretty sure this dream was a vision of your own horrible doom. Steve is coming for you, and will strike when you least expect.

I've had some crazy lucid dreams since I started wearing the nicotine patch. Which they are notorious for. Not necessarily nightmares. Just weird and realistic feeling.

The other night I woke up and it felt like there was an earthquake. I swear the stuff on my dresser was wobbling like it was all about to fall over. I thought it was real. I texted my brother asking if he felt that earthquake. We do get earthquakes here in Oklahoma every once in a while. But that was just a waking dream.
