Coach 09-16-2018 03:07 PM

Inquiring minds need to know though....

Did he call his grandma first?

MVChiefFan 09-16-2018 03:07 PM

His Wikipedia has already been changed to “former NFL player”ROFL

BryanBusby 09-16-2018 03:07 PM

But tbh, I don't think Vontae Davis has all of his marbles in the uh, bowl.

He had already retired.

He just notfified the Bills at halftime.

Rain Man 09-16-2018 03:08 PM

I'm really uncertain as to whether this has ever happened in the NFL. Maybe at some point in the 1920s if ever.

Patriot Bob Gladieux was once signed to play when he was in the stands as a spectator. He went into the locker room and suited up to play. But that's not really the same thing.

Bills fans are...probably really fickle right now.

Makes all this Mahomes juice all the sweeter.

We traded with the Bills to draft Mahomes. That is sad.

I really hate to make assumptions on someone's intelligence with so little evidence, but just the look in his eyes leads me to believe there isn't much going on upstairs.

This is weird, though. Why not just collect a check for the next 3 months and then retire?

TimBone 09-16-2018 03:25 PM

I hope he consulted his grandma.

TLO 09-16-2018 03:27 PM

Um, that's one way to look at it.

The other way to look at it, is that Davis is a quitter, a loser, and a shitty ****ing teammate.

Yeah. I'm not really convinced, though, that Vontae Davis understands how much money $5 million is.

America is the greatest nation in the world. A guy with an IQ of 75 can become a multi-millionaire by chasing a ball.

Yeah. And the great think about America is that he can say no. And then be broke within five years.

I'd really love to get a glimpse at the true net worth of all of the NFL players. That would be great conversation fodder.

However quitting on your teammates in the middle of a game is just chicken shit. Hell when I joined a team as a kid I was told upfront by my mother. You make a commitment you stick with it to the end of the year there will be no quitting in the middle of the year.

sully1983 09-16-2018 04:31 PM

What a disgrace he is . I am ashamed that he played for Illinois in college ! Oh well Illinois sucks anyways lol. but seriously smh at his stupidity .

Yep. Looks like I don't know shit.

Not that this means much either, but Vontae scored a 33 on the Wonderlic. That's the same score Tom Brady and Steve Young recorded. It's also higher than Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner.

Literally more than double Dan Marino and Vince Young's scores.

The dude may actually be pretty intelligent. Perhaps he was just emotional after being told he was being traded and just wanted to speak to his grandma. And maybe he was trolling or just slipped up after they beat Peyton and he said they had been preparing to play Tom Brady all week.

My favorite conspiracy theory about that fight is that Duran had eaten a huge meal after the weigh in and quit because he was going to shit himself imminently.

See, and thinking about it, from a different perspective...

If he looked around, and realized that he didn't want to play anymore, then he did the right thing by not going back out there.

If he went back out there with all this stuff on his mind, not focused...he could get injured or get someone else injured.

I can't question his motives, I haven't been through what he's been through.
