Dr Pepper is my favorite soda. Dr Pepper Cherry is my favorite variant. I figured, because DP is so objectively delicious, that everyone would agree that it's great.

However, in recent days, some on this board have voiced extreme distaste for the 23 flavors. I was shocked. But it made me think: how popular is Dr Pepper on Chiefs Planet dot cum?

Diet Dr Pepper is superior

As a server, anytime I had a group of people that came in and ordered 3 or more Dr. Peppers, I knew I was getting less than 10% on the tip.

I mean...I'm not going to say this speaks to the class or socioeconomic standing of Dr. Pepper drinkers or anything....but it definitely speaks to the class and socioeconomic standards of Dr. Pepper drinkers...

No, I'm a Hasidic Jew.

I drink MAYBE two-three sodas a year at most, and in the last few years I can't remember the last soda I had. I never drink Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sprite or Dr Pepper.
Once in a blue moon I'll desire a ginger ale, orange, cream soda or root beer. I drink Powerade Zero or Simply Lemonade to quench my thirst and I drink beer and wine with my dinner meals.
It's also been a long time since I drank a glass of milk.

Coke (NOT PEPSI!), Dew in a pinch, or Root Beer covers my soft drink needs. Have never liked DP at all.

I'm day-to-day on this stuff though. Some days I prefer DP, some pepsi, some even Coke. Sprite is pretty awesome too if you want a burn.

Maybe it's the HFCS over regular sugar, or maybe I just have lost the taste for it, but a lot of pops I really liked when i was younger ('70s, early '80s) like ginger ale, root beer, cream soda and Dr. Pepper just don't taste that great and have the wrong mouth feel. They taste/feel syrupy and overly sweet. The diet versions aren't better either

It's #2 for me behind Mountain Dew in regular soda and #2 behind Diet Coke for diets.

It's basically great. It also does a great job, like all sodas, of stripping wax off floors, cleaning bathrooms, and removing bug shit off your car's headlights.

I drink Dr Pepper when the restaurant doesn't serve Coke. But I'm a Coke man personally. I gotta stop drinking soda though. Shit was all fine and dandy when I was young but now that I'm older it's time to start drinking boring water and shit. Sucks.

I voted 'favorite' though it's not an exclusive favorite. I'd more properly characterize it as the one I prefer most often whenever Coca-Cola isn't available.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for a Barqs. Sometimes I get a hankering for something fruity [Fanta, Shasta, Nehi, etc] or a creme soda.

But mostly [90-95%] I waver at the fountain between Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper, and rarely do I know until the last moment which I'll pick.

If I really REALLY trust the fountain, I'll go for Mountain Dew, but bottles and cans are just too flat and sweet.

Royal Crown is good too, but Pepsi can lick my swampy taint.

I don't drink DP that often, but every year for Thanxgivin I reduce a 2 liter of it to about a couple cups and use it to glaze my ham, it's awesome

My grandma used to make her own BBQ sauce and she used Dr. Pepper. I love it.

I like the DP 10 when I could get it. I still like the Diet DP Cherry. It doesn't taste diet, one of the few that doesn't have that fake sugar taste.

My favorite diet soda is Stewart's Diet Orange. Coke Zero is not as nasty as Diet Coke or any of the Diet Pepsi stuff, but still not as good as regular Coke. A&W Diet Creme soda is pretty good too.

Dr Pepper is my favorite, however my diet of steak, eggs and burgers allows not for sugar.... damn!

DP is just fine, not my favorite but it always tastes good when I do have one.

I don't want to hijack this thread in any sense, but I don't feel like Squirt gets it's fair shake out there in the world. That shit is delicious.

Go to the part of your town where they speak Spanish, and find a Coke in a glass bottle. It's the real thing.

Like Rainman, Frosty and srvy I prefer Pibb to Pepper. It is not widely distributed, like Fresca before Oprah called them out, I have friends down in Wichita that couldn't ever find it, don't if that's changed or not. It is superior to Dr. Pepper imo.

The most shocking thing for me to watch with soda drinkers is how they go get some breakfast but they don't order a coffee or tea or orange juice or apple juice or any juice or milk or even chocolate milk, they order a giant ****ing soda at 6 or 7 am. That's repulsive and why soda drinkers are fatter and diabetic on average by a wide margin. They suck in sugar all day long. :eek:

Nevermind disgusting. I couldn't fathom having soda for breakfast. I like an occasional 20oz coke with lunch or dinner, though with dinner I prefer an unsweetened tea, and am strictly a coffee in the morning kind of guy. I do like the occasional Mountain Dew though..

Dr. Pepper and Root Beer were my favoritist sodas, but mom rarely let me drink 'em, heh heh. She swore that I got extra hyper whenever I drank 'em, which I apparently didn't do with normal Pepsi/Coke/RC.

Mans, I haven't had a Dr. Pepper in... 20 years? Hell, until this year I hadn't drank a soda of any kind in 20 years! I used to drink so much soda that my weight ballooned up to 300 pounds, so I forsook all soda to avoid becoming a human, soda filled blimp.

Mmm, started dieting in January, and I have a sweet tooth so I desperately needed something to sate it, thus my current drug of choice is Coke Zero. Funny, I've turned to a soda, diet thought it may be, to help me lose the weight that soda helped me gain hahaha. It's workin', though, down 151 pounds since January.
