KU athletic director Jeff Long: “After a thorough evaluation of the program, I believe that new leadership is necessary for our football team to move forward and compete at the highest level of the Big 12 Conference."

Good move and good timing. Get ahead on things while KSU dicks around with how they are going to get rid of their old fossil.

I thought he deserved another 5 years at least

KU football coach has to be one of the most difficult jobs in the world
I mean mangino did it but was mean to the kids and was too tough on them so he was let go. They have been a trashfire ever since. |

KU was trending down at the end and they just used the being mean to the players as a valid reason to can the fat ****.
The mistake was the following 3 stupid ass hires. The next hire for KU will depend on how much they want to overspend on a HC. If they overspend enough and put in a ton of years on the deal for security, they could land a quality candidate. If I were the AD there, I'd double the pirates salary and guarantee him the time to build the program. If he can turn around ****ing Wazzu, the guy is what KU needs. |

Favorite is probably Mad Hatter....but I don't know why. He was ran out of Baton Rouge because he wouldn't conform to the pass heavy offenses of current times.

Good. Now either throw some money around to get an actual good football coach or just disband the whole thing.

Chris Creighton at Eastern Michigan is who I would consider if I was KU. He has won at the hardest spot in FBS. Has Kansas ties was head coach at Ottawa and also was head coach at Drake.

Gregg Williams, check your mail.

Whoever it is, they should hire a guy who has built a program up a bit with lesser talent, and give him 5 years.
Trying for another splash hire will probably result in another Weis or Gill like disaster. Beaty was closer to what they need to do but didn’t have proven skills as a head coach |

Same win %, same # bowl wins. |
Long should tell burritto Bill to eat a dick and renew the stupid rivalry with Mizzou. In football atleast. That program needs some life brought into it.
|
Good! Now we can finally get serious about getting this program turned around. I think Long will find a good coach for that job.

I wish the same thing would happen to their basketball team.

Does anyone actually want that job?

No former Patriots or fat guys. Or any combination of former Patriots or fat.

To me, both teams are completely irrelevant right now and the would be no implications whatsoever. Personally, I wouldn't be excited at the prospect. |
Is it even worth trying a triple option coach?
I mean there's not much more of a 'zag' than that. And KU would be a pain in the ass to prepare for on offense. Recruiting would be a little easier because you're not out there trying to snag 4* passers. You can chase the old school option QBs in a softer market for them and a couple of RBs (easier to find/coach up than WRs). It unquestionably puts a ceiling on the program but wouldn't it also seem to raise the floor? They're not winning 10 games doing that but they shouldn't lose 10 either. |

Plus, if you have watched his post-game pressers recently, he's making comments that I have never really heard him say is before prior to last year or the year before. This is the first time I recall him ever throwing a player under the bus (Zuber) publicly. Not to mention a few others, such as: - Corey Sutton situation - Yokel (Kellis - the reporter) - Six inches - write what the hell you want to write - anybody else? - Midget (our kicker). |

Other than the play on the field of course. I believe KSU can't handle the bad PR of forcing out Snyder. |
Quote:
Re: Bad PR. You'd be surprised actually. Quite a few KSU fans I interact is ready for Snyder to move on, because of the product on the field, and the recruiting situation. The ones who's defending Snyder are the true fans/homer/cults type of individuals, which is a minority. |
