KU athletic director Jeff Long: “After a thorough evaluation of the program, I believe that new leadership is necessary for our football team to move forward and compete at the highest level of the Big 12 Conference."

KU was trending down at the end and they just used the being mean to the players as a valid reason to can the fat ****.

The mistake was the following 3 stupid ass hires. The next hire for KU will depend on how much they want to overspend on a HC. If they overspend enough and put in a ton of years on the deal for security, they could land a quality candidate.

If I were the AD there, I'd double the pirates salary and guarantee him the time to build the program. If he can turn around ****ing Wazzu, the guy is what KU needs.

Considering KU's recruiting class for next year consists of one two-star player, you're talking as if the bar can get literally ANY lower than what it is right now.

They are throwing money around, with the money that the capital campaign is bringing in there is no reason why there wouldn't be room to bring in a legitimate coach.

They are in a tough spot here because an established coach probably wont take the job and they will be at the bottom of the list for an up and coming coach. Miles wont win many games but he will acquire more talent which would make the job attractive in a few years.

Whoever it is, they should hire a guy who has built a program up a bit with lesser talent, and give him 5 years.

Trying for another splash hire will probably result in another Weis or Gill like disaster.

Beaty was closer to what they need to do but didn’t have proven skills as a head coach

You're probably right. Now that I think about it, quite a few people may still care.

To me, both teams are completely irrelevant right now and the would be no implications whatsoever. Personally, I wouldn't be excited at the prospect.

DJ's left nut 11-04-2018 11:07 PM

Is it even worth trying a triple option coach?

I mean there's not much more of a 'zag' than that. And KU would be a pain in the ass to prepare for on offense. Recruiting would be a little easier because you're not out there trying to snag 4* passers. You can chase the old school option QBs in a softer market for them and a couple of RBs (easier to find/coach up than WRs).

It unquestionably puts a ceiling on the program but wouldn't it also seem to raise the floor? They're not winning 10 games doing that but they shouldn't lose 10 either.

Yes he did, but his buyout is roughly $3 million, if he was "terminated". But if he were to resign (retirement will fit this one), chances are he will go to a "Special Ambassador" type of a role, and there is no buyout being paid out, the way I understand it by reading his contract, which can be found online.

He has been told, more or less, Sean is not going to be a HC. Now, how accurate that is, I do not know, but it has been out there for quite some time. So I doubt that is an option.

Plus, if you have watched his post-game pressers recently, he's making comments that I have never really heard him say is before prior to last year or the year before. This is the first time I recall him ever throwing a player under the bus (Zuber) publicly. Not to mention a few others, such as:

- Corey Sutton situation
- Yokel (Kellis - the reporter)
- Six inches
- write what the hell you want to write
- anybody else?
- Midget (our kicker).

I do. I truly believe it's time for Snyder to retire.

Re: Bad PR. You'd be surprised actually. Quite a few KSU fans I interact is ready for Snyder to move on, because of the product on the field, and the recruiting situation.
