Sports Books and Vegas

They got absolutely slaughtered yesterday. Bovada had it's worst losing day in it's history.

What happened?

Everyone took Kansas City on the moneyline.

KCwolf 11-05-2018 10:44 AM

A TON of Favorites covered the spread and the OVER was also heavily bet (as always) - and covered ... Basically very few upsets and lots of points were scored.

Hoover 11-05-2018 10:47 AM

Well they made money on me a couple weeks ago.

O.city 11-05-2018 10:48 AM

They got taken to the damn woodshed yesterday.

I doubt they're gonna suffer keeping the lights on, but I just though it was interesting.

I hit big on a 7 team parlay on Bovada then pulled another $900+ on roulette lol

saphojunkie 11-05-2018 12:25 PM

Can you use Bovada anywhere?

I'm not surprised, in our pick em league this week I got 4 of 5 right against the spread and 2 other guys got all 5 of their picks correct.

The lines this week were just off.

Cleaned out now. :thumb:

Demonpenz 11-05-2018 01:38 PM

dumb people will double down thinking they own vegas and betting and they will get theirs back. The action and addiction to action is what keeps people betting and losing.

Fish 11-05-2018 01:41 PM

But.... but.... rigged.....?

Why Not? 11-05-2018 01:48 PM

Glad to say I took some of that Bovada $. I bet the worst individual beat was on Chicago -10. No way, no how that shouldn't have been closer to -17. Obviously the Bears would have covered but it would've given people pause before pounding it. Bears -10 was literally a $ give away.

Yes. Except their poker offerings are not available in Nevada or New Jersey I believe.

If you guys are interested in signing up for a Bovada or Ignition account (they are both the same thing) use my affiliate website and click on the Bovada or Ignition icon. I offer spot bonuses to new sign ups & deposits :)

Even if you already have a Bovada account you can still get a new Ignition account and vice versa.

Gravedigger 11-05-2018 01:51 PM

PATRICK MAHOMES! THAT'S WHAT THE **** HAPPENED!

I can vouch for the validity of this.

This is going to mean the poker games are going to be lit this week!

I hope Hollywood and the other KC area casinos hurry up and put sportsbooks in their casinos.

Just wait, it will be on your phone in no time.

I have the MGM app on my phone. i just like to watch the lines. I typically go to Vegas once or twice a year durning the NFL season and place some bets. In Nevada I could just bet from my phone. So dangerous. I need to limit my self.

Kiimo 11-05-2018 02:07 PM

Man I have never gambled on sports when not in Vegas but if I had the biggest lock of my lifetime had to be Mahomes' total touchdown number. I can't really begin to think how much I'd have bet on the over on that if I had been in Vegas this summer.

23 and 1/2.

lol. Easiest money I've ever seen.

I used to play a ton of online poker and dabble in sports betting some. I play a lot of poker up at the casinos in KC. Every time i go i think to myself how they are missing out by not having a sportsbook.

I saw the online apps when i got married in Vegas a few months ago, but i never thought to download them.

I did it to just watch the lines. Sometimes you can get better odds at the Sportsbook at the Cosmopolitan.

I got destroyed on college football a few weeks ago, but hit one parlay on the NFL - came damn close on two others. Stupid kickers. Stupid Cowboys.

jjjayb 11-05-2018 02:26 PM

The refs thought it would be too noticeable if they called any more penalties to make the score closer. Any more than 11 penalties would make it too obvious.

I've been playing draftkings for about a year, can't do anything but min-cash and that's probably 50% of the time tops. I need to quit playing, i'm just burning money. Made a g playing the 1/3 up a Hollywood last time i played poker. I need to stick to what is profitable.

Exactly. Don't be fooled Vegas knows they'll be weeks they lose and lose badly. Gamblers have to win sometimes in order for them to keep betting. But overall, long-term, very very few are able to make money betting on sports.

Oh yeah. I throw a couple hundred in the account every season just for fun. I consider it spent when I deposit. I never expect to actually make real money betting sports. Although every once in awhile, it turns out that way.

So true which why I only put $10 on the bet. I also hit on a local bookie 3 team parlay and had $40 on it with 6-1 odds on the win. Only thing is the local bookie doesn’t do money lines only spreads and o/u.

JohnnyHammersticks 11-06-2018 09:36 AM

I was actually in Vegas Sunday and put $250 on the Chiefs at the MGM, which had the best line I could find at -7.5. Flew out yesterday with an extra $227.30. Thank you Chiefs.

Demonpenz 11-06-2018 01:56 PM

I put some money on Ivan Draggo's son in Creed II. Bookie gave me some great odds.
