In other words....
He's still day-to-day. |
He should be full go by the time we play the Chargers it sounds like.
|
The team has felt positive he’d play all year
He’ll play when he wants to I guess |
Berry wears his war wound like a crown
He calls his problem Haglund - 'cause he likes the name And he wears the finest shoe in town Berry, Berry likes his money He makes a lot they say Spends his days counting On a sidelline near the Interstate |
I ain't from Missouri but, show me.
|
This is what I've been expecting. The heel is going to hurt to play on and the more he plays, the more it will hurt until he can't play. Bring him back late in the season, use him through the playoffs and he can heal in the off-season.
|
Lmao. He was called day to day in preseason, and now they are saying week 13 or 14, and that is supposed to be good news?
|
Thats exactly what the KC Star reporters podcast said 3 weeks ago.

Lol now it’s December uh huh I remember a similar article where it was November.
Eh I hope it’s true but we’ll see. |
Change date, copy and paste article.
|
has la canfora reported anything before though?
|
If it does I’m fact need surgery, that shit should have been done mo this ago so he’d be ready to go next year
|
Didn’t Jeffrey Chadiha report ‘many in the Chiefs camp expect’ Berry to play in the Jags game. That was two months ago.

Someone has absolutely botched this completely |
2 weeks ago Sam Mellinger reported that the chiefs were hoping to have Berry back by the end of November
Chiefs hope to get Berry back before the end of November. https://www.google.com/amp/s/247spor...124301877/Amp/ Eric Berry injury update: Chiefs hope for safety’s return in next 2 weeks. This is September 16th https://www.google.com/amp/s/arrowhe...t-2-weeks/amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/amp.kansa...217857025.html Chiefs safety Eric Berry remains ‘day to day’ for Sunday’s opener at Chargers https://www.google.com/amp/s/arrowhe...-analysis/amp/ Eric Berry "literally day-to-day" per Andy Reid |
Save him until the final play in the Super Bowl when we are thrashing the Saints 45-17, and then pay him for all the ”inspiration” that he has provided over the past two years.

I'm no expert but I had read that if the deformity is on the back of the heel, in order to operate, they need to cut the Achilles, shave the bone down, and then reattach it. Apparently the recovery timeline on that is shorter than if you rupture your Achilles but still takes several months. If Berry had only learned of the deformity deep into training camp or at the start of the season, he may have thought he'd be able to cope with the pain and play at some point this season instead of being shutdown for another year. |

Heal that heel.

He needs to restructure his contract. At this rate we may only get four to five games out of him. If he doesn’t have surgery to fix the flare ups this off-season then we are most likely back in this same scenario next season And even if he goes with the off season surgery he still may miss sept, oct of next season if the procedure involves the Achilles????

Sounds like he's still month to month

Han Solo his ass until we REALLY need him!

hope to see berry move from day to day and make the switch over to sideline to sideline
|
Whether he plays or not, he should not be getting paid $16.5 million next season.
Needs to be the best the 1st thing on Beach’s agenda once the season is over. |
If he comes back, Berry had better make 1-2 big plays a game with no huge blown coverages. If not he should have no problem cutting his remaining salary in half.

Man. We’ve got some real baby-back bitches on this board.
I’m pumped to have Berry back and don’t give a shit about the money. We are 9-1. I’d be fine if he didn’t play until the playoffs. |

He beat cancer had an all pro season, was franchised and played in all 16 games and had an all pro year, then got paid. He didn't make a stink to get the money he ****ing earned it. Even I thought he was overpaid in the contract but you all would still be bitching if he was making $2MM a year less so its moot. |

The whole pain management thing is grossly misunderstood IMO. You cant just shoot a guy up for 16 games and think you wont see diminishing returns on it. I think they didn't expect the issue to be this bad (obviously) and as they kept working on it its been slow to respond. So they were stuck with keep treating it as long as possible and find a good spot to roll him out there and see what happens. JMO Its either that or he is actually dead and they are paying a homeless dude that looks like him to roam the sidelines so they dont ruin a historic season by telling everyone he actually died from a sore heal. :D |

Makes me think of Houston a few years ago.

Yeah, I remember that too. |
Eric berry is like bob sanders you don't hear much from him till it matters.
|
I remember the last “could be practicing soon” article. Good times.

He's not going to suit up in two weeks and just pick up form where he left off when he was killing it. I know you are skeptical of Berry to say the least, so this is not directed at you personally when I say: This is ****ing reeruned. Stop being reeruned fans, please. |
Believe it when I see it.
|
It would be HUGE if he could play the last few games of the season to get warmed up for the playoffs. But he's been out so long it's not a guarantee that he could play at the level he was, but he came back from cancer and played extremely well after that so there's definitely a chance.
|
Great! Will believe it when I see it. But we can use all the help we can get. :thumb:
|
The only way to be 100% safe from this is to just not play. Would anybody be surprised to see Berry suffer a season-ending injury in his first game back at this point?
If he's playing through pain, he's bound to continue doing strange things that could lead to... oh, you know... a torn achilles, perhaps? And at that point, he's 100% done. And I would hope the team would see the same thing and finally treat Berry as a business decision. |
