Why? He's legit awful.

chiefs1111 12-05-2018 06:49 PM

No we shouldn't

chinaski 12-05-2018 06:52 PM

We don't need another Wide Receiver.

MMXcalibur 12-05-2018 06:53 PM

He's already dropped 3 passes and we haven't even signed him yet.

New World Order 12-05-2018 06:56 PM

Our offense is about as in sync as it can get.

Don’t want to add anyone unless it’s a good rb

KChiefs1 12-05-2018 06:58 PM

I didn't know he was a RB.

Backup left tackle?

RealSNR 12-05-2018 07:04 PM

I'd rather see us use that roster spot on somebody who can help Mahomes.

Maybe if he drops a few pounds

CoMoChief 12-05-2018 07:16 PM

There's a reason why he was let go this late into the season, just after the Bills traded away picks for the guy.

Without know the details, the eye test would leave me to believe that he's a slow fat lazy pos and the Bills got tired of his act, just as the Panthers did.

Why would the Chiefs want that in their locker room when they're in the middle of grooming their franchise QB during a SB run?

Kelvin is a unit of temperature measurement
Benjamin is a unit of monetary measurement

Using a logical approach, Sherlock Holmes style deductive reasoning if you will, I would speculate that he likes Money AND Spicy Foods.

So maybe tape money and dip the football in buffalo wing sauce

Nacho's check the 'spicy foods' box, and Stadium Concessions are a small fortune, so that checks the 'monetary' box. You win.

Ummm.....as a 3rd TE?

Hill
Watkins
Conley
Robinson
Kemp
Dieter

I mean I guess if you put either Kemp or Dieter on the practice squad....but it's not like Benjamin's fat ass plays STs.

Hammock Parties 12-06-2018 11:35 AM

This would be a great move. He's a better version of Conley.

Don't forget he had 2,000 yards and 16 TD his first two seasons.

From what I read about him yesterday though he's a real asshole. Very selfish and arrogant. Unless he's willing to be put in his place, like 3rd receiver or perhaps #2 TE (can his fatass even block?), I just don't see it.

htismaqe 12-06-2018 11:38 AM

With Watkins gimpy and the young guys not really stepping up, I'd definitely take him.

Sounds like he was pretty ****ing miserable up there in Buffalo. Absolutely no excuse for that behavior but don't think he'll be that big of a problem here.

Mahomes and a chance to win a ring vs. Buffalo. ROFL

:thumb:

Mecca 12-06-2018 11:42 AM

It might be a situation where they view him as a guy they can line up inside and get some favorable matchups, he's kind of a tweener at this point.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-06-2018 11:43 AM

I don’t love Benjamin right now, but I’m be willing to give him a shot to change his ways and get comfortable here in KC on a cheap deal.

I mean if he’s in this offense he will be 1 on 1 at all times and that is easy money on fade routes.

DJ's left nut 12-06-2018 11:43 AM

He'd never sign one, but I'd offer him a veterans minimum deal with damn near nothing guaranteed for this season and next. If I'm going to pay him to do pretty much dick this year, I'd want to have him locked in for next season as well.

At that point I'd start working on him as a Demetrius Harris replacement. Give him an offseason to turn some of that fat into muscle and work on the position; he may be a dangerous #2 TE.

Then I'm all for it. As long as he doesn't cause a rift or think he'll be a number 1 I'm cool. He was drafted to be a big-bodied redzone target but never fit in with Carolina or Buffalo. If he can provide that service here then JFC we've managed to somehow improve even more

The Franchise 12-06-2018 11:44 AM

Benjamin in the red zone could be interesting.

Well, he'd HAVE to be WR#3, there's no other place for him...and yeah, I'd be down with him as the #3 WR IF he doesn't cause trouble.

However, we can only score so many TDs. The defense eventually has to do SOMETHING.

Mecca 12-06-2018 11:44 AM

When a guy like Dieter is on the roster there is nothing wrong with kicking the tires for some WR depth.

I'm sure if Benjamin got signed, Reid could find some snaps and formations to take advantage of the unique set he brings, he isn't fast but he is a really massive dude.

Just hope he cuts the bullshit with blaming others for his failures. He needs to own that fact that he's been a fat, lazy piece of shit as a WR outside of his rookie season thus far in his career.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-06-2018 11:48 AM

I don’t even think we’d really see him on the field most of the time, especially this late in the season.

Just bring him in for RZ/goal line plays and add the threat of a fade.

Chiefnj2 12-06-2018 11:51 AM

There aren't enough ribs in KC for both Benjamin and Reid.

I’ll bet this is what he’s telling the Chiefs right now.

Brooklyn 12-06-2018 11:52 AM

its brilliant. Let him come here for a handful of games. Pat will make him look better than he is. Some dumb team will sign him in the off-season. Comp Pick to the Chiefs.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-06-2018 11:53 AM

Teams already worry enough down in the RZ about Kelce and all of the misdirection options KC has. Adding Benjamin, who can easily go up and grab a pass up high over 95% of NFL corners, makes plenty of sense for that reason alone.

Basically just let Mahomes look at the defense and take what is there.

He could also view it as a way to spike his value, maybe finish the year out and play next year. Put up some big numbers with Mahomes and parlay it into a contract somewhere else.

Sassy Squatch 12-06-2018 11:55 AM

Harris has been decent as well this year. 3 TDs from the #6 or #7 option in your offense has to feel pretty good.

I get the sense that Kelvin Benjamin would not be especially talented at corporate espionage

The Franchise 12-06-2018 11:58 AM

Hill
Watkins
Conley
Robinson
Benjamin
