KC weekend trip in the summer

I’ve only really been to KC for Chiefs games. We were thinking about taking a weekend trip with the kids to KC this summer. Would probably do a Royals game on Friday or Saturday night. Kids are age 11,9,and 6. Recommendations on stuff to do?

Zoo.

Union station. Science city

There's a toy museum.

Aquarium and Legos by crown center.

Nelson Atkins art gallery.

Drive around and look at the old houses all around the plaza, mission hills, south.

Little out of the way depending on which direction you’re coming from, but you could stop by Bates City and pick up some meth.

SAUTO 02-11-2019 07:34 PM

There's also a transportation museum. It was cool. Bunch of trains

Yeah, but is the prospect of quality meth ever really “out of the way”?

SAUTO 02-11-2019 07:37 PM

Friday night fireworks at the k.

Jewish Rabbi 02-11-2019 07:39 PM

In all seriousness and probably obvious, but they’re of the age they’d love Worlds/Oceans of fun, no?

We’ve been to the St. Louis zoo several times. It’s good and free

O.city 02-11-2019 09:28 PM

Great wolf lodge is cool but it’s out of the way a bit from downtown.

Crossroads district was always fun on first Fridays but I dunno about with kids

One of these days I'll check this place out for myself, but if museums are a thing for your family there is the Arabia Steamboat Museum.

I forget this place. It's pretty cool too. That whole area is nice and has cool spots and buildings. River market.
Lots of antique stores through there.

SAUTO 02-12-2019 05:54 PM

The west bottoms are popping on first fridays too.

I really need to dedicate a Saturday down there exploring the area. There is no excuse not to as close as I am to it. Pf course being so close is probably why it keeps gettinhg put off - "I can do that any time."

This was going to be my suggestion I’ve loved this place since I was a kid. And also kc has a killer street racing scene if your willing to add to the pot they allow spectators. And also what kid doesn’t like drag racing?
