Chiefs sign LB Damien Wilson

Never heard of him. Throw me all the things i need to know.
|
Seems like he's a depth signing, though. Like Hitchens, the Cowboys had him play all 3 positions at some point.

If your initials are D.W. the Chiefs are on line one...
|
looks like he started some games but played in all for the past 3 seasons and was cleared on some assault charges.

Love it, love it. We've got outstanding coaches. Give them a ton of options, coach em up, and plenty of them will thrive.

Schefter calls him 'SLB' in the tweet.
He is your SAM, boys. |
Damn this guy has some attitude and could be a killer. Great pick up Veach!!! Defense needs some of this

His PFF grade is 44.7 overall. That sucks. Veach could have signed a better player.

He played next to Hitchens in Dallas

Spags and Veach know that they could opt to only use the SAM player in base packages. He might only play like 30% of the time. So it could be a cheaper option to fill that position with limited snaps. |
Depth/special teams. 25/26 once season rolls around. Probably all 3 spots more m and w then Sam imo. Wondering if they even tendered Terrance Smith
|
Quick glance at PFF says he's good against the run and butt ****ing awful in coverage.
|
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ don’t know who this is.

Game changer!!!

He played in all 16 games the last 4 years but hardly made a impact

I like that they value versatility in these guys. I think it's a huge asset to have guys that can play multiple positions. I'm really warming to the Mathieu signing because of that alone. |

You want better run defense? This is the type of backer you are looking for on a value.

While PFF does have some value, I'll wait to see this guy on the field before I judge.
Let's be honest - this defense can't be much worse than last year. I suspect it will be a lot better, actually. |

Taylor suggests that they plan to use DOD in subpackages like last year. Moneybacker.
Starting to think they’re a little too hell bent on stopping the run. |

Wow so they really only see DOD as nothing more than a nickel backer. I'm so disappointed rn I can't even...

Ragland at his current price tag on the roster is fine.
Yes he struggled in the 4-3 in Buffalo, but he was also banged up. An aggressive 1 gap attacking system will do wonders for him. No more two-gap reading. |

Seems like you have a pretty damn high bar there hoss. |
Seems to me like we’re going to have the most unathletic set of LBers in football again.
Do these guys not realize they’ll be playing with leads a lot? Run defense is great but it’s also secondary. |

Stop projecting to him to be a starter. This is a depth signing. At most, he'll be in competition for. Certainly not a lock to start. |
Consider the source ...
Perez was the dude who got all inFATuated with Ragland in the beginning. He is the person responsible for convincing Chiefs fans that Ragland had ability. It was Perez that compared Ragland favorably to DJ and other linebacking "greats". FAX |
So you're going to put Ragland at MLB in your base package and then run what....Hitchens and DOD in your nickle?

It's waaaay to early to start in with projections. |
