So I suppose that it is a home game for LA?

Shaid 04-17-2019 08:12 AM

I'm a fan of it being an LA home game and not us losing one. The Chargers don't really have home games though, we're the home team when we go there anyways lately.

O.city 04-17-2019 08:12 AM

Ugh, that's actually another important game that we have to go thru that stupid shit for.

****ing NFL and their money hungry shit.

lawrenceRaider 04-17-2019 08:13 AM

I hope it gets cancelled like the Raiders one from last year because a soccer game or some such crap ruined the field.

ChiefBlueCFC 04-17-2019 08:15 AM

Hopefully Mexico City and Azteca get their shit together this time

At least it's one of our Away games and not a Home game played in London like a few years ago.

I thought it was the Rams game that was moved. LA honored all the firefighters at their "home game". I don't believe the NFL cancelled any games

O.city 04-17-2019 08:23 AM

It was the Rams game.

And that pretty much assures the bye the week after so another thanksgiving bye?

TribalElder 04-17-2019 08:24 AM

Horse shit that we have to go back after last years aidsbomb

I have zero problem this. Coming someone who despises London games.

We don't lose a home game. We stay in a reasonable time zone. And an LA team in Mexico makes a lot of sense, especially one with shitty home crowds like the chargers.

Just take care of the ****ing field this time.

I'd almost bet money that the field is gonna look like a cow pasture again.

Stinger 04-17-2019 08:28 AM

I am going to miss having home field advantage at the Chargers soccer stadium.

It's a division game between two of the best teams in the AFC, on a neutral field in a different country, at altitude.

Yeah, "zero problem". It's ****ing stupid.

notorious 04-17-2019 08:29 AM

Let me guess: We go on the road the following week at Pats/at Houston/at Indy/at Baltimore.

O.city 04-17-2019 08:30 AM

It's a game that literally decided the #1 seed last year. But yeah, lets go to …..(checks notes)…..another country to play it.

I'm guessing it'll be a week 12 bye for both after. Which isn't a bad thing IMO.

I don't like the idea of playing ANY game outside the country, but other than dealing with the altitude, which in this case won't give either team an unfair advantage, the distance from Kansas City to Mexico City is pretty much the same as the distance from Kansas City to Los Angeles. In fact, if you look at the three cities on a map, the locations almost form a perfect triangle. Shouldn't be any different than any other road game.

I do feel bad for the 15 Chargers season ticketholders, though.

OKchiefs 04-17-2019 08:41 AM

I don't care as long as we get some home prime time games. It seemed every prime time game last year was on the road.

ROFL

I may take a road trip to see this game. CDMX is a great city...always a good time there!

Mile High Mania 04-17-2019 09:38 AM

Well, it's better than an overseas trip. It's not like the prep or travel time is going to be that much different than traveling to LA.

Indeed. I'm also ok with it taking a home game away from the Chargers instead of us. As long as the field is presentable/safe then whatever

ChiefsCountry 04-17-2019 09:47 AM

Chargers as part of their agreement to move to Los Angeles, have to give up a home game each year for an international game.

That was my thinking. A bit more and it is international so that adds an element as well but could be worse.

I didn't know that, for how long?

displacedinMN 04-17-2019 10:03 AM

start working on the grass now. It MAY be good for the game by then.

TribalElder 04-17-2019 10:11 AM

Any side bets on how many gringos go to mexico city to watch the game but then get murdered

If you never hear from them again, how would you know?

ping2000 04-17-2019 10:20 AM

All of Mexico's landscapers are up here now. Field is going to suck.

CasselGotPeedOn 04-17-2019 10:25 AM

They better not have any shitty soccer games for at least a month before the game

The chargers will deal with the same elements. They are traveling to play a neutral site game instead of staying for a home game playing in an environment they're familiar with. No, it doesn't bother me. If we're going to get thrown into an international game this is one I'm perfectly fine with.

Just take care of the ****ing field this time.

MMXcalibur 04-17-2019 12:35 PM

I hate this.
No Chiefs game for me this year.

**** you, NFL.

Only vaginas get upset at racism, Frazod. Another excellent take.

I'll bet if the butt of the joke was a white guy who lived in a trailer, you'd laugh so hard that you'd accidentally bite your boyfriend's dick.

Kiimo 04-17-2019 01:45 PM

Reverse racism hot take with a side of homophobia is there a thread your idiocy can't shit up?

ptlyon 04-17-2019 01:47 PM

Can't we all just agree Philip Rivers is a pussy?

Frosty 04-17-2019 01:53 PM

Hopefully the NFL won't feel the need to move the game back to LA to make the firefighters feel better this year.

That would be funny. Two years, twice straight being moved back to LA.

Seems like karma. Book it.

Use them to wipe up the froth on the sides of your mouth

As opposed to what you'll be wiping from the sides of yours.

Dane and I got along just fine, actually. Of course, he didn't go through life looking to be butthurt and offended by everything he saw, especially silly jokes.

Bwana 04-17-2019 02:49 PM

Uhhh **** that. The field made the Raiders field look top notch in comparison, last year.

007 04-17-2019 03:07 PM

Why is everyone acting so surprised by this news. It's been coming knowledge for a couple months now.

Skyy God 04-17-2019 03:10 PM

Assuming Shakira doesn’t f up the field again.

Frazod 04-17-2019 03:12 PM

I bet there will be a shit ton more Chief fans there than Charger fans. Well, not so much Chief fans, but Mahomes fans.

God, it's nice to have league's No. 1 star on our side for once.

I'd hope that both sides learned a lesson. I'd bet nfl will Jr all over the Mexican stadium officials to make sure not to **** this up. And undoubtedly Mexico knows they ****ed up based on how much money they lost. Mexico makes a shitload of money off of soccer so its still baffling that they ****ed this up.

My only concern is that they groom this as a soccer field, not a field suitable for football. But id think the NFL has experience with that too since wembley was more than suitable for football.

That was the Rams game, and it got moved because of the fires in LA, period.

They can't tell me that no one in Mexico City knows how to lay sod. That's where 90% of the sod-laying US population comes from.
