Nebraska: no draftees. (First time since 1962)

It seems like we can’t go a week without seeing this program sink to new lows.

North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Elon, Morgan State and several others of the Football Championship Subdivision and Division II outfits Sioux Falls, Tarleton State, Washburn and Charleston (West Virginia) each had a representative.

Two players went from Old Dominion, which had one draft pick previously in its history. Two running backs from Florida Atlantic alone. Two from the Omaha metro area. On and on and on.

But no Huskers.

Titty Meat 04-30-2019 01:23 PM

How's the FBI investigation going?

Prison Bitch 04-30-2019 01:26 PM

Five picks from the end, when an Air Force long-snapper was selected, a proud program's dignity was being tested.

Pissed the shoe companies stopped paying players to go to NU?

InChiefsHeaven 04-30-2019 01:33 PM

Lowest point in the history of the program probably. But from the ashes of 20 years of stupid decisions, poor coaching and shitty recruiting...NU comin' back bitches...

Beckner likely first round pick for the win. lollers^^

I don't follow college ball. Is their team is an amazing all-sophomore roster that's set to dominate college football for the next three years?

Frosty 04-30-2019 01:45 PM

My poor Beavers were the only P5 school to not have a player drafted or even sign an UDFA contract. I blame Mike Riley for all this (though it was actually Gary Andersen's fault in the case of OS).

kc-nd 04-30-2019 05:50 PM

NDSU has had its last two starting QBs get drafted, Wentz #2 from Bismarck and Stick, a hometown Omaha boy in the 5th round. Who would have guessed this 10 years ago.

Only in the most fevered dreams of the NU deranged faithful.

comochiefsfan 04-30-2019 06:08 PM

Thank God Mizzou moved to the SEC when we did.

I can't imagine being an afterthought in the B1G, or worse, still being stuck in the Big 12.

I wish Mizzou was in the Big Ten. I much prefer the academic and cultural profile of Big Ten schools, and Mizzou gets repeatedly rat****ed by SEC officials in the revenue sports to an extent that can't be an accident.

At least the SEC is creative with the dickings; the "big" 12 boned us out in the open.

On a related note, here is a too-early mock for 2020. It means absolutely nothing, but has 2 Mizzou players in the first round. Without cheating, can you predict who they are?

Acy was my first guess. It actually took longer for me to think about Albert, b/c out of sight, out of mind. Before I thought of him, I was wondering if NFL guys were going nuts over Simms (possible, I guess) or Durant (less so).

Acy is just so damned big that some teams are going to love him, but I really worry about his penchant for getting charred over the top. Probably more of an outside zone corner who isn't afraid to stick his nose in.

Sweet Daddy Hate 05-01-2019 01:11 AM

I took a look at a list of players from Nebraska drafted over the course of 40 years once.

It was mega-sad.

In the 12? The 12 doesn't compete for national titles. I mean, they try and all, but no.

Ohhhh! Frost warning!

Thing is, your alumni will shit can him after another couple of seasons without results. It's what they do. They don't let a coach actually get his own team together for a duration of players through their career. They want results and results now.. Rinse and repeat.

If Frost doesn't have a contending team in two years, he's gone. The coaches they hire don't have a chance, really.

Not worried about it. Frost will get a little more time, I'd say 5 years because of who he is in this state. The team already looked and felt different in a good way last season, even though the record was shit.

Meh. I know there are haters, but we're on the right track here. I'm not saying national champs or something, but we'll be more than relevant in short order, I'm confident in that.

How many football games has KU won since MU left the conference?

Titty Meat 05-01-2019 07:47 AM

So I looked it up. KU has won 16 games since then.

For comparison sake: Mike Riley won 19 games in 3 years.
