From a business perspective, I think going to camp is beneficial if the team you think you are going to get a big contract is your own. It makes them think you at least care. Nobody gets hurt at voluntary workouts.

Now if you already got a contract and that guaranteed money, I get it.

Voluntary OTA's are dumb. They should either make them mandatory or just get rid of them. Yes, players get hurt during OTA's (isiah crowell says hi), which is why a lot of the vets do not go. Plus, the coaching has already seen them and really just wants to see the new kids and what they are dealing with.
