TribalElder 05-01-2019 05:53 PM

This is the side effect of bringing in a similar position player and paying them a metric **** ton of money before they play a single down for the org

They need to pay this man to keep him happy, for the good of the team

Only 20m

RustShack 05-01-2019 05:59 PM

He’s been excited about the moves we’ve been making and the defense. He will get his deal too. Non issue.

Different position. Garafolo already said it’s 20 m per and his agent have been in negotiations for a couple weeks now which means a deal is close. Probably discussing the structure

'Hamas' Jenkins 05-01-2019 06:07 PM

With as much money as he has on the line, I wouldn't want to go to voluntary workouts and risk what just happened to Crowell.

Houston and Berry had both been paid IIRC. Peters is a douche

Your Peter is a douche

BossChief 05-01-2019 06:33 PM

They need to pay him this offseason because with the DL talent infusion and adding Daly, Jones is going to be consistently in the talks for DMVP going forward.

Whatever we pay is going to be a bargain.

Wallcrawler 05-01-2019 06:38 PM

Pay up, and lock down one of the best D lines in football for at least the next three seasons. Structure in an emergency exit in case of a catastrophe, but you MUST pay Chris Jones after dropping that contract in Frank Clark's lap.

pugsnotdrugs19 05-01-2019 06:40 PM

If he’ll take $21M per, I’d do that now

Garafolo reported it was 20 mil however that was before the Frank Clark deal

CoMoChief 05-01-2019 06:45 PM

Hed be stupid to do any kind of football activity right now other than just staying in shape.

:hmmm:

oldman 05-02-2019 07:47 AM

I don't see this as anything else but a vet saying the workouts are voluntary, so I'm staying home. Deal will get done.

TomBarndtsTwin 05-02-2019 07:49 AM

Zero shits given.

Dude is about to sign a BIG extension. He doesn't wanna risk ****ing it up by injuring himself during voluntary workouts. Can't blame him.

Deal will get done before training camp I would imagine . . . . .

Coochie liquor 05-02-2019 07:52 AM

**** him, trade him to the Browns.

Just kidding.

King_Chief_Fan 05-02-2019 08:05 AM

Not caring about voluntary workouts.

Give him a deserving contract before training camp and all will be fine.

58-4ever 05-02-2019 08:21 AM

Meh, does not bother me. We will get full effort from him.

Yeah, its just the system the NFL has in place. It's ridiculous but it is what it is.

He's just doing what is expected from a player of his caliber these days.

From a business perspective, I think going to camp is beneficial if the team you think you are going to get a big contract is your own. It makes them think you at least care. Nobody gets hurt at voluntary workouts.

Now if you already got a contract and that guaranteed money, I get it.

58-4ever 05-02-2019 10:42 AM

still three months from the preseason... after the draft, this is the crappy news we will get..

Voluntary OTA's are dumb. They should either make them mandatory or just get rid of them. Yes, players get hurt during OTA's (isiah crowell says hi), which is why a lot of the vets do not go. Plus, the coaching has already seen them and really just wants to see the new kids and what they are dealing with.

Exactly, it has nothing to do with Frank Clark or anything else.
