Jamie Collins LB to KC?

Tomorrow is the first day that teams can sign free agents that don’t figure in draft pick compensation.

Based on 1 play?

That’s pretty ****ing stupid.

Yeah, Belichick broomed an uber-athletic freak, in the middle of what would end up being a SB-winning season because he didn't give good effort on "1 play". That's it!

Jaime Collins summary:

-- stunningly awesome athlete. Does things no one else can do.

-- inconsistent effort.

-- free-lancer. Does not play with discipline or structure. Values sacks/stats more than working within the framework of the defense.

-- does not possess elite instincts. Will go to the wrong gap, overrun plays, etc.

THAT is why BB broomed him. And it was stunning to the team and the defense. The locker room was in complete shock. But there's nothing that drives BB more crazy than not knowing what he will get from a guy. Even if you're not as good, if you're consistent he can work around it, compensate for it, etc. If you're just inconsistent, then you just gotta pray, and that drives him nuts.

Chief Northman 05-06-2019 12:26 PM

No to Collins.

Spend instead on a CB in trade. Go get Ben Watson to be TE #2.

Profit.

Its not just one play. One of the reasons why the Pats released him is because he just didn't put in a lot of effort on a lot of plays. When he plays hard, he can be really good. But that's the problem: he's really inconsistent in the effort department. So yeah, I posted one play as an example...I suppose I could post every single play where he took it off, but's "That's pretty ****ing stupid."

Pitt Gorilla 05-06-2019 12:31 PM

That #27 looked good.

BryanBusby 05-06-2019 12:31 PM

I'd do it if it were dumpster diving rates.

Jewish Rabbi 05-06-2019 12:31 PM

Any word on how big this guys dick is? We need someone to replace Houston.

Kiimo 05-06-2019 12:32 PM

And if you aren't playing hard for the Pats there's no reason to think he'd play hard for anybody else.

JakeF 05-06-2019 12:38 PM

Collins was very productive last year and usually stays healthy. He's had one serious injury where he missed 10 games.

Depends on the money.

Last year he has 73 solo tackles, 13 TFL, 8 QB hits, 4 sacks, 4 PD, 1 int.

Mecca 05-06-2019 12:38 PM

This guy is going to get like a 1 year 2 million dollar deal, lets not act like signing him is going to prevent any other moves or break the team.

It's a nice piece when you lack depth at the position.

CoMoChief 05-06-2019 12:46 PM

LB and CB gonna be huge needs next offseason

KC_Lee 05-06-2019 12:48 PM

The author of this article also stated this;

Quote:

S Eric Berry, Cleveland Browns
You can make a case for the San Francisco 49ers here, but the Browns connections are too obvious to ignore. First, you've got John Dorsey, the man who helped draft Berry back in 2010, running the show in Cleveland. Second, the Browns were after Earl Thomas earlier in the offseason and are still very clearly trying to upgrade the position. Third, they've got more than enough money to make it work. And fourth, does anyone really believe Morgan Burnett was brought in to be a true full-timer?

Anyone spot the error with the bold part above?

pugsnotdrugs19 05-06-2019 12:52 PM

So this is just a prediction?

Highly doubt it’s happening.

RunKC 05-06-2019 12:57 PM

Would consider signing Mo Claiborne to a cheap deal. He had a career year last year in NY.

No that doesn’t mean he would start. He’d be a hell of a lot better than many teams 4th corners..

Pretty sure this Arrowhead addict guy is wrong Collins wouldn't count against the comp pick formula since he was cut

Good point. Jamie Collins Sr. was released from the Browns 03/06/2019. Signing released players does not count against the NFL Compensation formula.

KC might sign Collins but it has nothing to do with May 7th date and the comp formula.

Cheaters aren't done adding talent, that's why (other than cheating) they win every year. We have huge holes at linebacker and cornerback and Veach is sitting on his ass doing nothing.

Same can be said for new England. They dumped him for peanuts because the dude despite his stats had no idea how to operate within the system.

Well, cheating pays. They pay their QB below market value which artificially helps them manage cap space. I would bet there is an off shore or back-end deal with Brady. I could be wrong. He could just love winning more than money. And not to mention that between endorsements and his super model wife, money on his deal isn't as big of a concern.

Regardless if they are doing it illegally or Tom is genuinely giving them a home town discount, having a below market value contract for Brady has been very helpful for them to sustain their success.

It’s TBs medical company that is allowed to do major business with the team where his real money is made.

I bet after he retires, that business relationship is severed.
