Yeah I'm not touching Epic Game Store considering that their launcher was exposed for illegally access your steam library and going through computer files like 3 months ago.

if you have any game made using the unreal engine, it has that tracking thing people were all pissy about! So, it would make no difference if you have epic game store or not on your PC if you have ANY GAME made with the unreal engine!

Which anyone that is a gamer has on their pc, i'm not defending Epics Launcher either it's hot garbage compared to steam. They need to do some catching up if they want to compete.

I'm also old enough to remember Steams launch and how it was the Devil when it was first introduced. Growing pains and nothing more, just happy Epic is bringing a ton of Console only titles to PC as well as my love for Fortnite: Save the World. :D

I'll also be playing Borderlands as i'm not waiting 6 months after release to play it because I don't like the launcher. Also I think Outer Worlds comes out October on Epic rather than 2020 on Steam.

kcxiv 06-21-2019 03:48 PM

Plus Epic games allows for the developers to take a bigger cut per game sold. So i dont mind!

That accidental Fortnight money is legit. LMAO

candyman 05-23-2020 02:11 PM

Is there a tutorial for this somewhere? I started it and have no clue what to do. Never played anything like it except maybe Sims and a few Tycoon games...not sure if this is even like those.

Never mind, found a youtube video.

Frazod 05-23-2020 06:40 PM

I just downloaded it. I play Civilization Revolution on my phone; I assume it's just a really complex version of that.

There's a full tutorial available in the game menu. Also, if you are new to Civ, set your advisor type to new to Civ in the game options.

Google can find you others.

Finally started playing Civ 6 last night. Holy shit this is complicated. I barely understand what I'm doing, and have no idea what's going on around me, but it's kind of fun.

I don't know that cross platform is possible right now. I told someone that wanted to play Civ with his brother but he already had it on steam to just get it on epic games as well.

Been playing this for a couple of days, but I doubt if I last much longer. Glad it was free.

Like all other games of this type, it's fun in the beginning, but eventually devolves into a frustrating, tedious management nightmare. I realize there are people out there who enjoy that sort of thing, but I'm not one of them.

Sorry 05-30-2020 02:51 PM

Civ 5 has a lot less micro management and is probably my favorite one for that very reason. The ones that clamor to control every small detail won out in Civ 6 and it sucks.

The Franchise 06-04-2020 09:32 AM

Does anyone know if you actually have to download them to get them free? Like could I set up an account and add it to my collection but not download it? I’m in the process of building a new gaming computer but still want some of the free games for later.

You can absolutely do that. It adds it to your Epic Games online game library. You can then download their Game Launcher app. Which you log into with your Epic account, and then download whichever games you want.

That's also the case with every other online distribution service like Steam, Origin, UPlay, Battle.net, GOG, etc.

The games you purchase don't even download until you tell them to. They just become a part of your library. :)

Right well some may not know because as soon as you get the game it prompts you to install on Epic store anyways. Simply hit cancel then it's added to your library as someone already stated.

Remnant is free on Epic Gamestore right now as well.

$39.99 on Steam. Relatively new game with a lot of positive feedback and good reviews.

$90 worth of games for free right now. Ridiculous.

Every week its from $15 to $100 worth of free games, not a bad deal to click a few times to get legit free games. I bought Remnant on Steam a while back and it's a decent game but that's about it.

- Sea of Thieves: Go to co-op game. Put countless hours into it since Lockdown. Played through 3 of the tall tales so far with my squad.
- Ori and the Blind Forest: Brilliant game. Currently about 2/3 of the way through and hope to have it finished soon.
- Spyro Reignited Trilogy: Playing through this on the Switch and I forgot how much fun it is/was.

The last 2 AC games Origins and Odyssey were a step up in the franchise.

Elite Dangerous is free now through the 26th.

Pants 12-23-2020 10:37 AM

All of these stores (Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, etc.) are having massive winter sales right now. I'm balls deep in Cyberpunk but some of these deals are "can't miss."

Specifically, Epic is giving away a free game every day (today, it's Tropico 5) AND they have an $10 off coupon for anything $14.99 +.

It's even crazier on PC with all the modding, you can basically edit every setting in the game and start your own server. Not sure how the consoles work but ya i wasted a ton of time on Ark a few months ago.

Not sure if this is the place to put this or not, but for anyone who has a PS4 and a PS+ account, they have the FFVII remake available for free all this month. Pretty good for someone like me who has wanted to play it but was always too cheap to pay $60 (not counting tax) for a partial game.
