Chiefs open as a 5.5 point favorite vs Jaguars
 

Looks like people are betting heavy on the Jaguars though. The line has moved to -4 or -3.5 in a lot of places.

That Josh Allen guy was all over the field last night for the Jaguars. Maybe he's got people excited.

And he'd better not lay a hand on Patrick Mahomes II or he'll have me to deal with.

It's moving because 5.5 is a big number in the NFL and for some reason there is this thought that teams in Florida win home games early in the year cause it's hot.

I'm actually not going to get worked up about Josh Allen, his DC from college is a coach here, he should have a solid idea of how to deal with him.

Jags are still going to have a tough time scoring points this year even with Foles and a healthy Fournette.

If our defense is at all improved then the safe money is on KC, even at that line.

Last year, the Chiefs defeated the Jags 30-14, and from what I remember that game was never in doubt, with the Chiefs leading at the half, 20-0.

Now, Foles is a better QB than Bortles in every respect, and the Jags have tweaked their D a bit (J. Allen), Foles is still learning the offense, and still trying to develop chemistry with his receivers.

On the other hand, remembering that Mahomes was still learning the offense last year, and the Chiefs have made some significant additions to the offense, and that our defense should be better than what it was last year, the Chiefs really should win this game by at least 10 pts.

If I had to guess the score, I'd call it Chiefs 30, Jags 20.

Well if we sit Mahomes for three qtrs we might only get 21

Hopefully seeing as Fournette isn't good.

I mean, a Jags upset is possible, but the Chiefs would have to COMPLETELY shit the bed for it to happen. We’re a much better overall team than the Jags. I don’t see that D being able to shut down all of our weapons. And their offense is garbage. Fournette is an ineffective brokedick and Foles is okay (better than Bortles), but both Reid and Spags are familiar with Foles and know his strengths and weaknesses.

Gonna end up something like 27-19.

It’s going to be a very hot afternoon on the field. That’s a given. Mahomes grew up in Texas. He’ll be fine.

Why is the heck would you think the Jags would win? Their only chance to win is injury.

I think we win but no blow out. Jags are not going to be bad. Westbrook has looked good.

I live in KY, so I’ve seen a lot of Allen in blue. He is the real deal but is he any better than the elite rushers Schwartz faces twice a year in Sandy Eggo or Denver. Is he any better than Mack when he was beasting in Oakland? Not worried about Schwartz.

Fournette will be a non-factor because we will maintain a 3 TD lead.

Fornette is my only concern. I'd sell out to stop the run at all costs and take my chances with Foles and their new passing offense. We can win a shoot-out with them easily. However, If the Chiefs shut down Fornette, it will put even more pressure on their passing game to answer every time, and they'll likely make mistakes, and KC could blow them out.

Stop the run - KC wins and easily covers the spread.

The Chiefs are going to skull**** Jacksonville. Something like 31-13.

It's hilarious to me that anyone thinks Jacksonville even has a chance in this game. They are going to get pulverized.

Jags are criminally overrated, and they’re mostly picked middle of the pack.

WR’s are mediocre, Fournette is overrated, offensive line is average, and Foles is in over his head.

The defense is good but soft. Ramsey is a turd who isn’t currently happy and the big dude who used to play for the cardinals whose name I forgot is washed up.

I see a 7-9, 8-8 team.

And yet the Chiefs still had 380 total yards and 30 points seconds into the 4th quarter. If the Chiefs keep their foot on the gas, they put up 40 and 500 yards on that defense.

Scores and odds is showing KC -4 at the moment so you're about dead on with that.
