The 2019 season brings uncertainty, as the protracted appeal over a ridiculous "scandal" with a single actor still has not been resolved. On the field, Mizzou faces what appears to be a much easier schedule than in years' past. The early season is loaded with home games before a protracted road stretch from mid-October through November.

This is the worst quarter of football I've seen them play in probably 20 years. Even the absolute debacle against South Carolina in the third quarter last year was against a Power Five team in bad weather.

Given how the team has played through the entirety of his tenure (and in both bowl games), it looks like Odom cannot keep his team focused after long stretches without football.
Every MU team under him has played like absolute shit in September and the two bowl teams completely no-showed. |

No team should ever come out this flat in the first game, and it happens every time with Odom. They have routinely shit the bed the first month of the season. He isn't recruiting well enough to overcome his deficiencies with game management, his ability to motivate his players both early in the season and for bowl games is unacceptably bad, and his teams keep making the same mistakes with catching the ball, ball security, and ST execution.
He's not the solution. Find someone else. |
