Who wants to watch two old dinosaurs in the twilight of their career.

The media just love to send these old ****ers off with a parade.

BryanBusby 09-04-2019 01:39 PM

They used pre-season record to help form those predictions LMAO

New World Order 09-04-2019 01:40 PM

Miami 2-0 and Rams start off 0-3

Mariota drops 51 on Jax? LMAO

Chiefs stumble at the last second to ... miss the playoffs: Rivers guts out an excellent Week 17 performance to topple Mahomes and the Chiefs 27-24. Andy Reid's team finishes 9-7 with a cluster of other teams and ends up on the wrong end of the tiebreaker. It never truly felt like the Chiefs were going to miss the postseason, but after three straight losses to close the year, here we are. :spock:

Everyone seems to think we're going to literally lose like 3 of our last 4 because you know those teams are all juggernauts.

ptlyon 09-04-2019 01:53 PM

I'll have what he's having, even though I'd lose my job in a drug test

Hydrae 09-04-2019 02:32 PM

Wow, that is incredibly bad. Titans beat the Broncos then the Broncos are going to kick the shit out of the Chiefs the next week? Then the Chiefs only score 3 against GB but Rivers and the Chargers light up the Pack the next week? Pfft, what a bunch of nonsense!

MIAdragon 09-04-2019 02:35 PM

KChiefs1 09-04-2019 02:38 PM

Only score 3 points in a game? LMAO

Andoverer 09-04-2019 02:45 PM

"Patrick Mahomes has an off day: Mahomes throws three interceptions -- one turns into a pick-six -- in a 34-3 loss to the Broncos. It's the worst performance of his career and not a good sign for next week's meeting with the undefeated Packers. The Chiefs are still 5-2 atop the AFC West, though."

MaHomes would score more than 3 points if he was sleep-walking.

after his week 2 Raiders win prediction I stopped reading.

TwistedChief 09-04-2019 03:31 PM

You guys do realize that they ran 20,000 different simulations of the season and this was but a single instance/path they pulled at random. This isn't remotely the same as a prediction.

Said another way, if Patrick Mahomes plays 320,000 games, is it likely he puts up 3pts in a single contest? Statistically, yes.

Now, this is what BlackOp looks for... the media openly expressing their marching orders from the league office.

ChiTown 09-04-2019 03:48 PM

So, all of a sudden, we are going now stop scoring points, finish 9-7 and have two losses to Denver - one being a blowout where we score 3 points? LMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAO

Rasputin 09-04-2019 03:50 PM

Pete Prisco picks Jags over Chiefs but I think Prisco is a douche and picks against the Chiefs every week so when Chiefs finally lose he says told ya so and puffs out chest

007 09-04-2019 03:54 PM

34-3? Holy shit what are they drinking

Rasputin 09-04-2019 03:59 PM

Marcus Mariota puts up 51 on the Jags a week after Mahomes 27 points vs Jags.

Gravedigger 09-04-2019 04:26 PM

When you mean storylines simulated... do you mean pulled out of your ass? Because that's what it sounds like. I don't care if Mahomes does have an off day, there's no way we score only 3 points in a game with him starting. ****ing dumb.

DrunkBassGuitar 09-04-2019 05:17 PM

Every. ****ing. Year some asshole in the sports media says "ThIs iS tHe YeAr fOr RiBbeRs!!!"

Every goddamn year these people pick San Diego to go to the playoffs over a far superior AFC west team (mostly the Chiefs recently) and by week 6 San Diego has shit all over the bed, rolled around in it and are standing there confused why they're covered in shit

I literally almost spit a mouthful of Mexican street corn (which I absolutely love btw) out when I read this. My wife is now almost positive I’m mentally challenged.

Megatron96 09-04-2019 06:28 PM

"Today, we took just one of those 20,000 season-long simulations -- No. 1,721 -- and played out the entire slate with final scores for all 267 games. And we baked a little creative license into the details along the way." - excerpt from paragraph 3

This is basically "let's pretend we can look into the multiverse and pick one planet Earth, 1,721, and see what happens in that universe."

They've got dozens of wild predictions in this one.

They have the Cards shellacking the Lions in Week 1, 36-10! I know the Lions were bad last year, but does anyone really think the Cards, with no offensive line, are going to torch any NFL for 36 points? Or that the Cards defensive unit will be able to hold any team to 10 points?

In the same universe, they have the Bengals, which had one of the worst defenses (31st overall) last year going into Seattle (Cincy is not known for great on-the-road play, especially after noon) and putting 24 points on the Hawks?

And Buffalo, after giving away their best offensive weapon from last year, is going to put up 37 on the Jets with their new offense and much improved D?

Are these things possible? Sure. What's the saying? 'Let an infinite number of monkeys bang away at an infinite number of typewriters for an infinite period of time, and eventually you'll get Shakespeare.'

But it doesn't seem like ESPN is saying any of those predictions will actually happen. It seems like what they're trying to do is stir the pot a bit with some 'way out there' predictions.

I don't know man, that Cynthia Frelund from the NFL network had the Chiefs/Saints going to the SB last year and you know the rest of the story. One team had a dumbass line up offsides and the other thoroughly got ripped off by the ref.
