Have lived in Kansas 30 years and have been every year. (3 hour drive)
I proposed to my wife on "The old mill". I love the beer garden and fried green tomatoes. They fry everything ! I hear this year they will have fried beer !:clap::clap:ROFLROFL:LOL::p:p

We have family reunions there its always a fun filled time.

You gotta love the funnel cakes and corn dogs, my brother in law at 30 of them one time and sicker then a dog afterwards.

Yep. My bad, I guess it was in August. Man the summer went by fast.

I would like to check out the Kansas one as well. Kansas gets a bad rap for being flat and boring- which some of it is - but it has a lot of pretty parts in the southern area too.

Went to Sedalia a few weeks back (never been to Hutch).

Favorite parts...watching the kids at the midway, home ec building (blue ribbon pies!), Fine Arts and Floriculture building.

Least fav parts...the heat, parting with a 10 spot for a corn dog and a coke.

AB might have some time available to go.

Spent a few days there during the fair. Loved it.

Grew up right next to it. State Fair week was always hell week when I worked at restaurants in the area - but it was always a good time.

Pronto Pups, the Old Mill, and Fried Green Tomatoes. Good stuff. The fairgrounds was always where our prom/afterprom was held too.

Wife wants to go. **** that shit.

Saw Mike Love and what's left of the Beach Boys at the CO state fair last week. They played for almost 2 hours and He can still sing at 77 yrs. old. It was a good show for $30 a ticket that also got you into the state fair for everything else.

probably won't see many of you again, :( Football games are one of my biggest temptations to collapse from the wagon. LOL

The Kansas State Fair sucks balls. Nothing but fat asses walking around looking at livestock and eating fried food. It’s either really hot and humid or raining cats and dogs. I’ve lived in Kansas for all but 4 years of my life and I go to the fair about every five years. Each time I go back I remember why I stopped going.

It's alright to check out once a year or so. I live in Hutch so even though I try to avoid going, I get roped into going out for some beers and pronto pup at least once. City isn't built for the traffic that comes in with it which makes it a pain to get anywhere for 10 days.

If anyone comes down for the fair, make sure you check out our new restaurant. It's called Applebee's.

We would have to drive 3 ****ing hours for that abomination. Just because my wife wants to eat funnel cake and look at brand new campers.

If I had to drive more than the 2 minutes I do to get there, I'd never go either.

Was born in McPherson, KS. Been to the KS state fair probably 50+ times. Yes, it's redneck as ****. But it's still some good shitty dangerous fair fun. Been down "The Old Mill" hundreds of times. Back in high school we did a bunch of agricultural stuff that allowed for a school visit. It was tons of fun as a high school kid.

It's always the little brother or the brother in law..I don't think we have state fairs in Louisiana..In New Orleans and surrounding areas it seems like there is a festival every weekend. Food, music and arts and crafts.
