The game is going to come down to big plays and the number of officials that Bob Kraft has purchased.

Brady and that offense are a broken down shell of their former selves.

We put 20 on the board and we should win this.

Our DL should dominate. Our secondary should get 3 picks. Our defense should keep NE under 20. If Fenton or Claiborne are able to play, make that 17. Max. Harassing Brady all day and into the night.

Our offense should be able to outscore them. If Mahomes struggles a little, we win by 1 score. If Mahomes has a good game we win by 10 or more. If the offense is in “make a statement” mode and Darwin gets 20 touches, we win by blowout.

The bottom line is they've pretty much always won THIS specific game in prior years. They've always come back from these moments of despair and emerged as a dominant Patriots team that makes another real Super Bowl run.

I would love nothing more than to put the dagger into their mother****ing dynasty with a dominant performance this weekend. This honestly could not be scripted any better for the Chiefs to have one of their most fulfilling victories in years.

I have a really good feeling about this game. And that doesn't happen very often.

Shaughnessy is a hack. Most Boston sports fans hate him. And this is a typically stupid article by the man we call “Shank”. “The Patriots will win this big home game in December because they always win big home games in December”? Retahhded. The Pats have serious issues. Can they overcome them? Sure. Wynn’s return to LT might stabilize the run game, Sanu might suddenly “get it” and contribute big-time, the D might return to form. They could get it all together and beat the Chiefs. Or they could play the same way for the third week in a row, and lose for the third week in a row. The stadium, and the calendar, don’t strap on a jock and run-block or catch passes.

This. I think we can beat them, sure. But I'm definitely not counting on it. Brady and Belicheck are surefire HOFers and I expect them to bring it on Sunday. We have to play our best, mistake free game of football to beat them. They are still the Patriots dynasty until proven otherwise.

That being said, I expect Brady to start dropping off a cliff any time now. Can't win against Father Time :D

This is another form of delusion. Placing all your hopes on one player will only set yourself up for disappointment. The TEAM needs to perform well, not just Mahomes.

In all seriousness, Mahomes got us inches away from beating the Patriots twice last year. Are the Patriots a better team than they were last year? Answer: no. Are we a better team than we were last year? Answer: not sure.

It's hardly delusional to think having an all-word QB can be the difference in a game like this. But by all means, protect your fragile emotions by setting the bar very low and call others who are more optimistic about this team delusional.

We are DEFINITELY a better team, simply by virtue of the fact we can get a stop.

They’re still well coached and well quarterbacked which are the two main things. Will always be a tough game especially on the road.

Strangely this one might not mean much and we will likely end up going back there in a month so :shrug:

Means a lot with regard to playoff seeding.

Buffalo beats Baltimore and we win out, it could very well be Buffalo #1 and us #2, we hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Baltimore...and if we have the same record as Buffalo we have the tiebreaker over them because of our strength of schedule.

A first round bye isn't out of the question.

Going to Buffalo in January would be a nightmare for any team. It’s one of the reasons they kept winning the AFC Back in the early 90s.

Oh, I remember. We lost there twice in the early 90s.

I remember a 44-3 beat down of the Raiders where Raiders were just huddled around the heater. They didn't care about the game, they just wanted to get warm.

That being said, it's a big reason why the Pats have so many rings, as well - beat down on the Bills (who weren't good for many of the 15 years between 2003-2017), Jets and Dolphins for 6 extra bye weeks, win at least half of the remaining games, win the division and home field, then teams have to come play in the brutal NE January cold.

All I'm saying is that the real chances of the Chiefs getting a bye are pretty remote.

Having four very winnable games against the Colts, Texans, Titans, and Packers and losing all four of them has hosed us for playoff seeding. Even one win among those four games would probably have us in the driver's seat with a win this weekend. As it stands, our chances with a win Sunday are still pretty slim.

We should probably just anticipate that any path to the Super Bowl would have to involve winning road games in both Baltimore and New England.

They are Not well quarterbacked. Brady throws to a spot 10 yards away from the receiver and then yells at them for not being there.

Not to argue, but that throw by Brady was more on the WR than Brady, IMO. The WR was supposed to take his route up-field, I think, but basically stopped at the sideline instead.

Make no mistake, Tom Brady is still a very good QB.

But this season he lacks any real weapons, his OL is not good, and Sony Michel has significantly regressed this season.

Bottom line, the Patriots aren't going to be nearly as efficient moving the ball this time around without Gronk carving up our defense, their OL is going to have trouble dealing with our pass rush, Brady is going to have to throw into much tighter windows against our top-10 secondary, and Michel isn't going to run for 5+ yards per carry either.

Their defense is going to have to carry most of the water for this match-up, and it's essentially the same defense they had from last year. A defense that Pat threw 7 TDs on, more than 450 yards, and a passer rating over 133. Their defense is going to have to play nearly a perfect game. Maybe the best performance of the season for them to have a chance of winning this game.

Meanwhile, our defense only has to play relatively mistake-free, but just a solid game; they don't have to be perfect against that Pats offense. Just good enough. Say, 80-90% of how they played against DEN.

And the Chiefs offense doesn't need a spectacular game either. They don't need Pat to throw 4 TDs, 400 yards, etc. Again, that's not the same Pats offense from last year. Our offense needs to score just their average of 30 points or so and the Pats probably won't be able to keep up. They've averaged less than 20 points in their last 4 games.

It won't be easy, because they're still the Patriots, but this is definitely the most vulnerable Patriot team we've ever seen in 20 years. The Chiefs just need to not beat themselves and start fast, and we should beat these guys.

Everybody loves predicting that Brady is just about done, people have been doing it for 5 or 6 years now. Eventually they'll be right I suppose.

An aging QB is likely to make some inaccurate throws, but Brady doesn't make very many mental mistakes. It's not like his football IQ is in decline.

That wasn't an inaccurate throw, one of the two didn't execute the play correctly. My guess is that it was not Brady.

If we're talking about the same play, as I recall, Brady even pointed up-field just before throwing the ball, but the receiver never broke up-field.

If KC can generate turnovers the Patriots are DOA

As for the article there a few points.

Folks nationwide are looking for the Pats demise and will look to pounce on it when they get a chance and at times will try to pumped up the competition. Folks outside of NE are rooting for KC.


As for other teams falling down the stretch, it has happened a few times last few years, although KC last year held on for the #1 seed. We will see if Baltimore can beat Buff. Time will tell.

Should be a good game and we will see if the Pats O can get going this game or not.
