This is Clark's team playing for the trophy with his father's name on it. You can give me all the spoiled rich kid inferiority BS you want to, but Clark has done nothing but show commitment to winning. It has not always worked, but he cares and is present.

It is not like when the corpse of David Glass was suddenly around when the Royals were making playoff runs.

The guy, grew up here, invited the ENTIRE CITY to his mom's house to celebrate after the World Series, and comes back every summer to raise money for Children's Mercy Hospital, so he's not exactly a Johnny-come-lately.

I think Clark is a pretty humble guy. I don't know the process of choosing who bangs the drum, but I don't think he would choose himself, especially not two years in a row.
