Super Bowl Champs - Repeat or 3 Peat ?

Can we repeat?

Can we 3 peat?

DaFace 02-05-2020 09:18 PM

I'm always a downer with stuff like this. The odds are ALWAYS against everything going right twice in a row.

But I sure hope we do.

TribalElder 02-05-2020 09:20 PM

I think after experiencing the whole thing that Mahomes will get that much better

It took a lot of things going our way but I am holding out hope we can 3 peat. That would be ****ing awesome

Agreed. Its just hard. I say 2 in 6. 3 in 11.

3 peat

When in doubt, take the 3

3 peat

The one accomplishment Brady never achieved

It must be done

Patrick’s will be done

It's going to be incredibly hard to beat us in the postseason next year.

Our schedule is fairly easy (Baltimore's is easier).

The way I see it, we would have to royally **** up to not get a bye next year. The game at Baltimore may determine HFA.

If we get HFA, then good luck beating a Reid and Mahomes combo at Arrowhead that is incredibly battle tested in the postseason at this point.

Long story short, the only thing standing in our way on the AFC side is Baltimore, and if we get the 1 seed then I think we're headed back to the Super Bowl.

digger 02-05-2020 09:56 PM

Because Mahomes, 3 peat... Would be a legendary start...

scho63 02-06-2020 12:14 AM

Not to bring their name up but just think how hard it was for us to make it back after 50 years and those ****ers up in New England did it almost at will the last 10-15 years.

2001, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018

9 appearances and 6 Super Bowl victories in 19 years. TB gaining 4 Super Bowl MVP's

WE GOT A LOT OF WORK AHEAD OF US!!!

TO THE SHIP!

BECAUSE MAHOMES!
:D

mnchiefsguy 02-06-2020 12:19 AM

No team has ever won 3 Super Bowls in a row...so I would love for Pat and the Chiefs to be the first.

Odds are against it though.

We will see what happens--I don't doubt that it can.

Ravens are bitchmade, they lost to the Titans at home LMAO We’ll roll their ass next year. Ain’t seeing no 14-2 out of those losers. Probably closer to 10-6.

Tbh I don’t see a huge threat to our AFC throne as of right now.

I think the Ravens regress, Houston is run like a circus, Cleveland is Cleveland, the Jets are the Jets, Patriots are old, Bills are on the up and up but they’re still led by Josh Allen, Phins are still building, Steelers could be decent but Ben is old and coming off major surgery, Titans are just meh, Jags are a mess, Colts have no QB, Bengals lol, Broncos are still run by Horse-face, the Chargers have no QB and are cursed.

I could make an argument for most of these teams having a GOOD year next year, but I have trouble seeing any of them as TRUE contenders to beat us. Ravens come the closest.

The Raiders are building something nice IMO but they’re still a ways away from us, and they’ll never have Mahomes, so they’ll always be trying to catch up.

I could see a situation where the Raiders/Chiefs are somewhat close in the standings for most of the year, but when we play them they get baptized.

We’ll see what these teams do in the offseason. Gonna be a ton of movement at QB.

I found it interesting when Reid at the parade said "We're coming back here for one more time." Just kinda cryptic and open to interpretation.

He’s implying we’ll win again next year. How is it cryptic?

He is our Michael Jordan but the name is Patrick Mahomes the 2nd

Danguardace 02-06-2020 06:10 AM

I actually feel the team will be even better next year, sort of feels like we stole this one.

The Defense will be better
Mahomes will be better
Can improve the Interior Oline, LB core and add a power running back
AFC West will likely have 3 new QBs

I see no reason why this team doesn't make it back to the AFCCG

Bugeater 02-06-2020 07:00 AM

ALL YOUR SUPER BOWLS ARE BELONG TO US

redfan 02-06-2020 07:30 AM

Minimum six-peat.

Similar to Brady, Mahomes is going to have to sign a very team friendly contract extension in order to surround himself with great talent. If he demands more than Russell Wilson ($35M) then we're screwed. His cap hit would go from 2% to more than 20% and we can't afford to pay other great talent.

For many players, once they win a SB ring it becomes all about the money. Let's hope Mahomes takes a page from Brady's book!

Of course, Brady's wife's estimated worth is around $600M which makes it a bit easier for him to take less. Anybody know how much Matthews is worth?

JohnnyHammersticks 02-06-2020 08:19 AM

I've never heard of either of these guys, but it looks like we may not even get the opportunity to repeat/3peat. Better get right with God, you heathens. :D

Shawn Bolz: Bob Jones Told Me 'End Time Revival' Would Come After Chiefs Win Super Bowl
11:00AM EST 2/3/2020 TAYLOR BERGLUND

Yesterday the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Now Shawn Bolz says it's time to see whether a longtime prophetic word from the late prophetic minister Bob Jones will come to pass.

Following the Chiefs' win, Bolz wrote on Instagram, "I am not sure what it means when Bob Jones said 'when the chiefs win the Super Bowl revival is going to break out,' but I sure am excited. We haven't been able to find any recordings of him saying this but he said it often to us. He often prophesied about sports teams and prophetic symbolism. He said when the chiefs win God is raising up His apostolic chiefs around the nation and one time he said 'nations.'"

In comments beneath the post, Bolz said Jones made these claims in 2003-2005.

This is not the first time Bolz has mentioned this prophecy. On Jan. 19, prior to the AFC Championship Game (in which the Chiefs played against the Tennessee Titans), Bolz wrote on Facebook, "Bob Jones had heard from God that the chiefs would go to the Super Bowl and win it. He shared that when they won it would be a sign of upcoming and end time revival. He explained that God is raising up His chiefs to be apostolic leaders in many spheres of influence. Today if you follow football you will see that the Chiefs have their first chance for 50 years as they are going to the Super Bowl! This could be the time! Let's pray!"

The image attached to the Facebook post was captioned, "Bob Jones told me at least 10 times 'When the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, you will know that revival is about to come. God is raising up His apostolic chiefs."

So much of their success has been due to being in a weak division that they've dominated almost ensuring a first round bye every year. I'm not taking away from some outstanding coaching and one of the greatest players of all time, but the road to the SB becomes a lot easier when you have to just win 2 games following a bye with both possibly being at home.

The way the West stacks up as of now, I could really see us with similar success in the coming years.

Monticore 02-06-2020 09:32 AM

we make it back to the Superbowl 2 out of the next 4, it is was so hard making there with this team, between roster and coaching changes on our team and other teams in the league and injuries, it becomes even harder to predict.

I've mentioned this numerous times and not sure how the NFL would view this against the salary cap or even allow it but I think Clark should give Mahomes shares in the Chief's franchise.

If Mahomes can make $10-20 million or more off the contract or maybe a big payday at sometime in the future, that would tie him to the Chiefs forever and allow for a VERY low annual salary.

Now that the haters can no longer use the Dan Marino (great stats/no Super Bowl) comparison with Mahomes, they are going to the Aaron Rodgers comparison (great QB who wins a Super Bowl early in his career and then nothing).

Mahomes is more talented than Rodgers was in his prime, Mahomes has an innovative HC who won't let things get stale like Mike McCarthy did with Rodgers, and Veach has shown he can master the art of using both free agency and the draft to continuously upgrade while Green Bay's GM Ted Thompson stubbornly refused to utilize free agency (and compounded his stubbornness by missing on several draft picks).
