Do you plan to partake in KFCs Fried Chicken and Donuts basket?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ed/4814937002/

KFC is bringing fried chicken and doughnuts to the masses.
After a successful pilot last fall in select Virginia and Pittsburgh restaurants, the Louisville-based fast-food chain announced Thursday that the limited-time Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts will be released starting Monday, Feb. 24 at participating restaurants nationwide.
The sweet and savory meals are available as a sandwich – a chicken fillet between two warm glazed donuts – or as a basket with choice of tenders or bone-in chicken with one or two donuts depending on the meal.
The sandwiches and baskets will be sold through March 16 or while supplies last with prices ranging from $5.49 to $7.99. Hot donuts also can be added to any meal.

“Chicken & Donuts is the newest fried chicken trend we’re bringing to all of America,” said Andrea Zahumensky, KFC U.S. chief marketing officer, in a statement. “But not just any donut would do. Only a donut that’s glazed-to-order and served piping hot every single time can stand next to our hand-breaded fried chicken."

Before Monday’s nationwide release, Chicken & Donuts will debut from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 in a Los Angeles pop-up shop called “The Colonel’s (Chicken &) Donut Shop” at 615 North La Brea Ave. The first 50 qualifying guests 16 or older at the pop-up get a free Colonel’s Dozen with six tenders and six donuts.
Walk-ups are welcome, KFC said in its release, but you can RSVP at an Eventbrite page too.

The chicken chain recently announced another new limited-item: KFC X Crocs Bucket Clogs, a low-to-the-ground pair of soles covered in a fried chicken print that comes with removable, chicken-scented Jibbitz charms so it can smell like the fried protein.

Hammock Parties 02-20-2020 03:24 PM

white trash chicken and waffles

scho63 02-20-2020 03:32 PM

Last time I ate at a KFC in NJ I got the worst case of food poisoning. 20 years later I have never or will return

Popeye's is 10xs better as so many others like Pollo Campero.

ptlyon 02-20-2020 03:32 PM

Where's the God damn gravy

CarlosCarson27 02-20-2020 03:36 PM

Their chicken is crap in all its forms.
It's not even chicken, it's something else. I just dont feel right if I actually eat it. I feel odd ,ill.
I don't mind their pseudo mashed potatoes and gravy. I'll eat that.
But them and McDonald's shouldn't even exist anymore. There's no point.its not food anymore.

Those donuts though.....

Bwana 02-20-2020 03:49 PM

That would be a hard NO.

The Franchise 02-20-2020 03:50 PM

**** no.

BWillie 02-20-2020 03:50 PM

I honestly think KFC chicken is underrated, if you compare it to other fast food fried chicken options. Kind of like Domino's. People just tell other people for years that you aren't supposed to like it, so people think they can't.

Well, do.they make the donuts with pastry dough? Or what ever it is.
I have realized in my town. All the donut shops ,including walmart. Use...it's like almost bread dough. It loses its taste and softness too fast. Not like the buttermilk donuts I remember aa a kid. There's just something wrong here. No Winchell chain either.
Just some dumb place called Day-night donuts. No one knows how to make a damn donut

Randallflagg 02-20-2020 04:17 PM

Nope. Just another ploy by a company that is desperately trying to remain relevant. This whole thing seems to me, to be a "bridge too far".

seclark 02-20-2020 04:24 PM

looks kinda sticky
sec

InChiefsHeaven 02-20-2020 04:26 PM

I like KFC Chicken...

notorious 02-20-2020 04:28 PM

They don't make the Double Down chicken sandwich anymore. :(

Jewish Rabbi 02-20-2020 04:29 PM

I’ll be honest unlike the rest of you fat ****s, I’ll probably give it a try.

I've got a Winchell's just down the street from me now. Donuts 24/7, baby.

This looks like an abomination, but the marketing makes it look like a tasty abomination.

Msmith 02-20-2020 04:37 PM

The donuts are sweet based and the chicken is salt based. Would these tastes go well in the mouth the same time?

They put salt in candy anyway, right?

..and chocolate covered pretzels

Easy 6 02-20-2020 05:17 PM

I’ll have the KFC crispy chicken once in a while, but I don’t need any damn donuts with it

To me..they look like Krispy Kreme donuts...

ChiliConCarnage 02-20-2020 05:58 PM

I find the idea gross. I've never been interested in trying chicken and waffles but that seems way better than this idea

CarlosCarson27 02-20-2020 06:04 PM

Ballparks already do something like that.

Now I want to go and get some chocolate Oreos. No, not the chocolate covered ones . just chocolate filling oreos...and the lemon ones

TribalElder 02-20-2020 06:06 PM

no thank you

redfan 02-20-2020 06:28 PM

I think I'd go for the chicken tender sandwich instead of a basket. Why prolong the inevitable?

seclark 02-20-2020 06:48 PM

You gonna hit the drive thru, order a couple and scarf em on the way home?
sec

srvy 02-20-2020 07:27 PM

This is not new I have had the chicken and donut sandwich a few times in restaurants in my travels. Its rea pretty good KFC is just trying to anything they can to get America interested in their chicken again. Hell, they are more popular in foreign markets than the USA now. Hint make better fried chicken and clean up your joints then experiment.

Monty 02-20-2020 07:28 PM

Gentle pass

BigRedChief 02-20-2020 07:29 PM

Maybe two years ago but now......I’ll pass.

I wanted to get that doughnut chicken sandwich thing but never did.

FlaChief58 02-20-2020 07:37 PM

I haven't been to a KFC in at least 20 years. I see no need to break the streak over doughnuts and chicken

Randallflagg 02-20-2020 07:58 PM

I will say this: KFC has (pretty much) gone into the crapper. They have fallen miles from what they were back in the day. When Harlan Sanders (the colonel) sold out to John Y Brown, and Brown eventually sold out to Yum brands that, more or less, got rid of the "famous" chicken..

Now? They are right up there with Long John Silvers and A & W.

Now? You have Burger King making French Fry Whoppers. I mean, seriously?

Simply Red 02-20-2020 08:09 PM

Popeyes is better, but of fast food thats about it.

Holladay 02-20-2020 08:29 PM

I feel my arteries clogging just looking at it.

My stomach says "gotta try it", my head says WTF!

Thanks for the reminder. I might go try it. Popeyes.
No Bo jangle out here....almost sounds racist! :)
Oh sorry, wrong thread!

Buehler445 02-20-2020 09:37 PM

Man, I haven't had KFC in like 15 years.

This won't change that.

I used to really enjoy their food but had some less than meh experiences and everytime I get to where there is a KFC, there are better options.

rabblerouser 02-20-2020 09:41 PM

****.

NO.

srvy 02-20-2020 10:17 PM

I had a chicken and donut sammich in West Plains Mo. Carlotta's Country Kitchen. It was a brown sugar glazed donut from the bakery. Man, it was really good along with a couple of the waitresses there. They called us highwaymen :D

dj56dt58 02-20-2020 10:31 PM

They need to start setting laws for shit like this

:hmmm: Salty and sweet has been a treat for ages. Some people are crazy for fried chicken and honey biscuits and most chicken places have honey packets to drizzle on your fried chicken. The payday Reeses cups candy bar among many others know this. Don't knock it till you try it just don't try it at KFC.

PS: Glazed donut and sausage patty is a great breakfast item found in many donut shops and bakeries once.

Same here when KFC first came out with their fish snacker.

Sure-Oz 02-21-2020 01:19 AM

I'll try it once....or just get Lamar's donuts and Popeye's

CarlosCarson27 02-21-2020 01:36 AM

This

KFC is good as f. I haven't had it in probably a decade (it's on the other side of town) but I've always thought it was good for fast food. I used to have a buddy that worked at one in high school, I got unlimited free chicken.
