**** ChiefsPlanet Coronavirus 2020 Infection and Tales****

This is the Official Scorecard of the WuFlu, Coronavirus, COVID-19 or other shit.

Since the next best thing since sliced bread or Chiefs Super Bowl Victories is making its way across the globe. This is a more personal thread to monitor who, when, where, how and other related shit. If you are prepping, what’s your plan of attack? Toilet Paper-face masks or Face masks-Toilet Paper? If you are just scrubbing your hands and singing an endless loop of Happy Birthday, what soap are you using? Grab your collective asses and hold on. Bleach your keyboards and offer up the best ya got.

I think I would have went for the Wuhan Virus CP headcount thread considering the pandemonium in here. We need to know who is still alive.

KurtCobain 03-10-2020 02:27 PM

Still alive, unfortunately.

Pasta Little Brioni 03-10-2020 02:32 PM

backinblack 03-10-2020 02:36 PM

hasn’t even hit this state yet

loochy 03-10-2020 02:36 PM

I just read that the toilet paper supply has been infected with COVID 19. Using it could transfer the virus to the user, so please refrain from using it. Also, the contamination has been found in paper towels and Clorox wipes. Please abstain from purchase and use of these products for the foreseeable future.

ToxSocks 03-10-2020 02:40 PM

About an hour ago I lost a $22,000 sale thanks to the Corona Virus (not a joke), so that's nice. Thanks Wuhan. Dicks.

Frosty 03-10-2020 05:03 PM

My son goes to UW in Seattle. They have made all classes this week, and the finals next week, on-line only. This isn't a huge problem but they also canceled all face-to-face office hours with the profs. He is trying to finish up a big project (he's in CS) and needs some help so that's kind of inconvenient.

Don't know what will happen next quarter. It depends on the spread, I guess. He has just the one quarter to go to graduate so the timing of this really sucks.

Also, when he was in high school, he was part of the Robotics class that competed in the First Robotics competitions around the nation (they made it to Worlds finals in St Louis his senior year). Even after he graduated, we have continued to support the program because it's really good for the kids. Unfortunately, they just canceled all competitions in the PNW. It really sucks for the kids because they have been working their butts off all year to get ready and now won't be able to compete.

The Iron Chief 03-10-2020 07:04 PM

Funny you should start this thread.

One of my sons goes to IONA yes the IONA in New Rochelle NY just out of NYC where the National guard has been called in to set up a 1 mile radius for quarantine and cleaning.

My son had the flu last week like so many others there.
But as you hear on the news the official tests are not easily given Especially for the college age.
So last Sunday he began feeling better even though its spreading like wildfire down there.
Many of his friends have the flu too.
Well we told him to be prepared to get out of his dorm at the drop of a hat and he listened to us.
Yesterday at noon IONA announced school closed til further notice.
He packed his car and came home..4 hour drive upstate.
He tells us stories of how its worse there than the news even portrays.
Everyone with masks on keeping 6ft distance all concerts shows events cancelled for awhile now...if you cough people give you the death stare.
If you get to close to some theyll yell at you or give you a push or walk with their arms forward telling you keep 6ft away.

Anyhow he drives home last night arrives around midnight.
We wake up this morning with his dorm room building dead center of the National guards 1 mile radius circle.
it may be decided tomorrow that you can not come or go from the zone.

That all said..
He may be contagious for 14 days.
Our area has not gotten a confirmed case within 2 hours of us. ( Syracuse I believe)
He is most likely the Only person in my entire county that has had contact with the virus.
Meaning I've got ground zero sitting in my front room watching Curb your enthusiasm eating ****ing pizza.

So how should we handle this...?
His girlfriends coming home from spring break end of week.
Her grandmother lives with her parents.
Sooo should he see his girlfriend?
I'm not letting him near my mother or go to a church/bingo game in other words anywhere elderly hang out.
Can he go to the mall? should he?
restaurant?

Its much debate in my house over matters like this right now.

Sorry I know I'm babbling but I'm 54.. wifes 55.
My yougest is 17 & lives here.

The three of us potentially could be carriers too.

How responsible should we be?
So if we get the flu even once its passed were contagious for 14 days...sigh.

Were like everyone else last week...reading funny memes about this..saying everyones gone crazy...laughing at the idiots ..

But now I've got a kid who just dropped a chicken wing on the couch possibly bringing it to my area..

Friends of mine had a daughter studying abroad in South Korea that was cancelled and she flew home 10 days ago. The family is self guaranteeing and get out on Friday. Not telling you what to do but just giving an example of what others are doing.

Panic buying has officially hit central Iowa. Costco didn't have a single roll of TP in the building or most cleaning-sanitizing items.

I'm not dying of the Kung flu.

Everybody was Kung flu fighting.

Lost of ton of paper profits in my retirement account.
Canceled a trip to KC to see my parents.
Canceled a trip by our students to a competition.
Sitting through a 2 day zoom session instead of face-to-face meetings.
Brought groceries to my daughter who is coughing up a storm.
Preparing to finish the semester online.

That's it for me.

Do you and your wife have the option to lay low and work from home for a couple of weeks?

You have to drive an hour from my house to get a roll of TP,Hand sanitizer,Hand soap currently.
That includes CVS to any grocery store.
Imagine if they knew about my kid?! :)
If they did you'd need a plane to get some.

It sounds like there's a possibility that your son has already recovered. So the risk would be that he actually did get the flu, in March, along with a bunch of others, and then somehow got so unlucky that he got coronavirus the very next week, but isn't showing symptoms yet.

It's probably wise to lay low as you can outside of work, but I don't think this case rises to cutting off your paycheck for two weeks.

Agree with TLO you should contact the Health Department.
He's a fair candidate for 14 days self quarantine at home, and should be wearing a mask when he's in a room with other people. Seeing his girlfiend *shouldn't* hurt as long as they manage to keep a distance.
You shouldn't worry for your son - unless he starts showing worse symptoms - but for the people he may get in touch with.
In countries who are experiencing massive infection you would all get a test and be home quarantined if found positive.

They had a trip for foreign learning that was deployed when it blew up over there in South Korea . They got home a couple of weeks ago. Home quarantine for two weeks. Although for those students, that was their rest of the quarter credits, so they wouldn't be in class currently, but could've been on campus.

Seriously....call your doctor before doing anything. Don't just go to a minute clinic or ER. That's what is ****ing things up right now. People get a fever and they listen to the ****ing CNN and go running off to the doctor or ER without calling first.

And even if it is the coronavirus if you are under the age of 80 and don't have a history or respiratory issues you will be fine.

Nope.

Beef Supreme 03-12-2020 11:40 AM

I set up Amazon auto delivery on toilet paper about 8 or so months ago, and after the first 3 or 4 months I had enough toilet paper to start my own Costco. So i had to tweak the frequency of delivery, but I'm still stocked to the gills. So suck it, haters.

Took a 3 segment trip back from Kona Big Island Hawaii last night. Flights were full.

So far no limbs falling off yet.

Pablo 03-12-2020 11:58 AM

Went to the store this morning at like 6am to beat the panic crowd and get my weekly supplies. Man, that's ****ing nice. There's nobody in there, just roam around and not have to wait on a buncha old ****s reading soup cans. Rolled right up to the register. Hyvee had pork butts for $.98/lb so I grabbed a couple of those. Got about 40 lbs of meat in the freezer already, so just got some sides and veggies and snacks for the kid and called it a day. I could go about 3-4 weeks without going to the store if I liked at this point.

Just some things I noticed. People hammered the rice, ramen and toilet paper. They still had some of all of this, just the big packs and the reasonably priced stuff were gone. I was originally planning on going this evening but I'm happy as hell I've got it done and can avoid what I assume will be some aggressive crowds this weekend.

ToxSocks 03-12-2020 12:03 PM

My wife works in Downtown San Diego, the epicenter of SD's homeless population. Homeless people are to infections like dry brush to a wildfire.

I already told her to be prepared to quit your job. I've already begun planning as if we won't have her income for awhile.

If it hits San Diego hard, i'm not letting her put herself at risk for a few bucks.

You can always recover from financial hardship. Health is quite a bit more complicated.

Why Not? 03-12-2020 12:11 PM

Pulled the plug on our Hawaii trip in April. Not super worried about getting the virus, per se, but **** being quarantined for two weeks. Will reschedule it for later this year.

I already told her to be prepared to quit your job. I've already begun planning as if we won't have her income for awhile.

If it hits San Diego hard, i'm not letting her put herself at risk for a few bucks.

You can always recover from financial hardship. Health is quite a bit more complicated.

Is she old and unhealthy? Serious question. I'm just dumbfounded at the level of panic over this. The swine flu killed young healthy people but there was never this level of panic. Why all the panic for the Wuhan flu?

I went to a concert this weekend and it was packed to the gills. A few days later everyone is cancelling concerts, basketball games etc. Why for this and not any other pandemic we've had?

Found out Wednesday that 5 of the MU students who attending the NOLA conference where someone tested positive interned at the MO capital Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Found out today, they are getting tested.

The intern "official" office is close to mine and we would have used the same bathrooms.

The MO House and Senate has now closed for the next two weeks. I get paid time off! House still wants to finish their end of the state budget, so may have to come in to work 2 days.

Nobody cares that you get paid to take two weeks off. YOu don't have to keep repeating yourself. You never do anything anyway.
