*****2020 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****
Version 2020 - WORLD CHAMPION EDITION
We are now within 24 hours - Cincinnati is on the clock. Let's ****ing do this. Rules: 1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!"). 2. Don't be a dick. Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future. Here is our current pick order:
Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year. In. Another step towards the repeat.
I say repeat, because the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020. The Kansas City Chiefs, who are my favorite professional football team, will be repeat champions when they also win the Super Bowl in 2021. |

I really doubt there will be spoilers this year given the circumstances the teams are drafting under.

I plan to spoil every pick
|
Oh yeah. This is tomorrow.

Our first round pick is going to have over a year to prepare

According to arrowhead pride, the player we have met the most through their tracking is Van Jefferson.
Thought that was interesting |
Alright.

Between the source and the Raiders not really having a need at DE, I’m not buying this one at all. |
Yannick wants out pretty bad.
Raiders can have him. |
Here's a fun watch. This is a RB we've met with twice: Darrynton Evans

What one player in this draft would make the impact on our Chiefs!? Who would make us unstoppable? No matter where they’re going to be picked...

He's the Wario to Pat's Mario, or the Odlaw to his Waldo if you will. |

Simmons is great too, but plays less impactful positions. |
for some reason I thought we still had another month to go, lol.
Now I'm excited, although I don't follow college football and no idea who we might get. Hoping for good interior o-line, linebacker, CB and RB. |

Idk my dick gets seriously hard thinking about having Swift in this offense, the dude reminds me of Barkley

The only way I see a trade after today is if a contender loses a DL during camp, and we still don’t have a deal worked out. Might be able to rip some other team off big time in that situation. |
I mean, if Ngaukuoe goes for 12 and Buckner goes for 13, you have to get a 10-15 pick worth of value for Jones.
Who out there is willing to pay that price? Tampa is going for it and could use an interior rusher, but getting the OL help they need for Brady gets tough if they move #14. |
Quote:
Decent player, but not much more than that. |
Quote:
Giving up a top 15 pick to pay a 26 year old DL big money is a “now” move. They’ll still be paying Jones once he starts to decline and won’t have a younger top 15 player from a strong draft. OL is probably a more pressing need for them, but they need pass rush too. Shaq Barrett will come back to reality. They’ve already lost 6 sacks from Nassib too. Wouldn’t shock me if they made the trade, but that would be a very shortsighted move for a team with a few major holes. |
Tampa isn't trading their 1 for Jones, they need a OT for Brady.

Good luck... always love the NFL draft weekend, fun to see what teams do and then listen to all the armchair GMs pontificate on why it was failed or greatness.
Enjoy. |
It will be weird to not hear a cluster of Jets fans booing with their pick...lol.
Seriously, though, not that I ever paid much attention to the fans, but it's going to seem so empty, especially whenever it was going to be an epic time in Vegas. |

If they trade Ngaukuoe, they'll have a hole and get a better player who knows how to be a professional like Jones. Rather have Jones, pay Jones, and get rid of a malcontent who argues with the owner on Twitter to drum up public sympathy like Ngaukuoe. Get #9, get Ruggs or maybe Simmons if he drops a couple picks. |
I am so ready for this.
|
I think they will go with BPA LB, CB, IOL, RB once they trade back. If they LB CB targets are not there I wouldn't be surprised they take an RB.

So no idea how tonight is going to go, but if I had to take a guess: We trade down out of the first round due to what players we wanted to select being taken before they get to us. With that being said, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we draft a RB (Clyde Edwards-Helaire is my exact guess) early in the second and then get Bryce Hall with our original 2nd round pick.
Now that I've typed it out, it's not going to happen at all. |

The draft threads are always entertaining. They go something like this every year:
And with the_____pick, the Kansas Chiefs pick ______. This is always followed up by several people saying, What are they thinking! They could of had _________ with that pick! Veach you dumb son of a bitch! The various news stories and videos start to come out about the players we picked and the reaction is, oh, I'm really starting to warm up to ______ good call Veach! To each their own, but at this point, I go with the theory that they know more about the players they draft then I do and subscribe to the I'll wait and see program. |
Matt Miller Final Mock:
1. Kristian Fulton 2. J.K. Dobbins 3. Curtis Weaver 4. Nick Harris 5. Joe Bachie I’d be pretty happy with this, though I’d like to come out of this draft with a WR. |
Weaver is intersting...he'd basically be a weakside end in our scheme though.

I fully expect them to add pieces that will allow for Lawrence to be ok when they think they'll be picking him next year. If they have that offer for Yannick, he'll get moved, they'll probably try to trade out of 9...would fully expect an OT and a WR in the 1st if they pull those moves. |
