2008 Ford Taurus air vent blowing problems

Have a 2008 Ford Taurus and it will not blow out air from the front vents when it is set to front and bottom vent, but if I set it to front vents only it works just fine. Can't seem to find a way to word this in a google search so I came here. Thanks car gurus

I think the problem is you drive a Ford.

A buddy of mine drove one to high school.

He called it the "Clit-taurus". LMAO

So you’re driving a Taurus and you’re having problems getting blown? :hmmm:

I have an 06. Never had this problem though. Sorry I couldn't help.

Talk to Sauto. I would guess it is your HVAC cluster control module. I am not sure if they have individual control modules for the fan, temp and vent damper position or if it is one module. It might be a servo that has gone bad but if it is working in other positions chances are some contacts inside have gone bad in one of the modules.

Probably a bad motor in your blend door actuator. Not a hard job to replace yourself if you are mechanically inclined.

Hm, might not be blend door, that's for heat or cold. Same concept though for your ventilation.

I'm not understanding what you mean by front and bottom vents. You have your defrost vents on top of the dash that blow on the windshield, your panel vents on the dash, and floor vents below the dash, (which I assume you mean by bottom vents).

A cursory search finds quite a bit about vacuum line problems on older models, but I did notice in the comments on this video that it helped someone with a 2006. Must be an ongoing issue with all Taurus models.

This.

You guys need to quit being dicks. The problem isn't that he drives a Ford, his problem is he's NOT driving a Camero!

Also, if it's going to be a Ford Taurus, at least make it an SHO. #tryingtobeniceaboutit

Big props to getting a Tore Ass that runs 12 years. Seriously impressive, in human years that’s like 1400.

Demonpenz 04-26-2020 04:45 PM

Red rums mom doesn't have a blowing problem

Demonpenz 04-26-2020 04:46 PM

I'm just shocked there is a Taurus of that vintage still running, with a working transmission.

TwistedChief 04-26-2020 04:58 PM

Had higher hopes for this thread. Would not read again.

knock on wood.

I have a 2005 Ford 500 (different taurus badge for a few years)
It was my parents car and I took it when mom died. It has 85,000 miles on it. On its second kid.

We have put money into it. Alternator, throttle body, fluid changes, brakes, gas cap.
Had to put tires on it last fall. Hated to do it-did not have a choice.

If it can go one more year-we sell it cheap.
