Deal before the 15th. I may be wrong, but I trust in Veach. The guy has done very little wrong as our GM to this point.

I have a ton of trust in Veach and I think both sides want it to work, but they’re trying to square a circle, here.

They'll make a deal at the last minute.

It seems really unlikely but something inside tells me they will reach a deal. It probably won't happen but I'm hitting that box anyways.

Draft capitol for younger cheaper talent and cap space/flexibility will help this team over the next few years.

I really wish Veach can sign him for less than 20M per season but I will be shocked if it happens.

Deal, but Veach knows better than we do that we have some serious deals coming up, so I hope this is a very creative one like PMII's.

Need a trade partner to make that happen, and Jones is a legit top three DT in the league. He won't come cheap.

Look at the cap hits for Buckner’s deal. Really not that bad if we can backloads this thing:

If Jones signs a new deal with the Chiefs, I'd expect it to be in the $105-$110 million dollar range in total value, probably something like $63-65 million guaranteed, with the bulk of the payments coming in 2021-2023.

Jones is a such a beast, which was re-affirmed after watching the AFC Championship and Super Bowl late last night.

What he brings to the defense isn't easily replaceable and I think that once he gets paid, he'll turn it up another notch because he won't be concerned about an injury ruining his chances at a defining second contract.

Yep. Mahomes contract gives them the flexibility they were lacking and I think Veach gets it done. Defensive line is important to Spags and keeping Jones gives Spags what he needs.

Well, I voted No Deal. Plays on the franchise tag. I hope we get a deal done though. I want this team all happy and stuff.

I voted before seeing his tweets. DAMN IT! Just doesn't seem possible with all the big contracts, plus knowing the overall strategy going forward has got to be more towards accumulating draft picks. But maybe they have one last big contract to go all-in the next two years. Would be pretty great to have Jones.

He said he's not playing on the tag, so I think SOMETHING gets done by July 15th. Either a trade or a deal.

Probably a deal, given how the Mahomes deal is laid out.

There is no way his biggest cap hit would be this year. Hes already counting towards $16 mil and we only have like $3 or $4 mil in cap space.

Im guessing he gets a 5 yr/$110 mil contract ith $50 mil guaranteed. Cap hit will be >$10 mil to give us some flexibility to go out and sign someone.

I think he signed for 105MM, but I don't know the guarantee or the years. (And I'm not entirely certain about the 105.)

I love Jones as much as anyone, but the numbers just don't work in the next few years. Next year is/was the only one manageable, hence the tag.
